We had a wonderful stay. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. The cottage was absolutely lovely, and very comfortable. Every detail was taken care of. The refrigerator was stocked with a delicious quiche, fresh blueberries, stuffed bagels, and a bottle of wine. There was half & half for coffee, and a bag of carrots to feed the horses! It really was a perfect, relaxing retreat. We enjoyed playing the board games, and just relaxing. So glad we chose it over a hotel! We met Connie and Fleming who made sure we had everything we needed. Wonderful hosts!
We felt like we were coming home! The cottage was beautiful, cozy, comfortable and clean. We could tell that a lot of time and effort went into making the cottage welcoming.
Lovely house in a wooded area, next to a farm with horses. Although it is a 20-minute drive to Durham, the commute was easy and smooth. A car is absolutely necessary! The house was clean, with all the required amenities and comforts. Although we never met our hosts, they kept in touch with us via email throughout our short stay. They very graciously left food in the fridge, a bottle of wine, lots of snacks and even carrots to feed the horses. Wonderful experience - we will definitely stay here again if we visit Durham in the future.
From the very beginning, Connie was delightful to communicate with. She was thorough and made sure our arrival was easy and convenient. There was a quiche prepared with instructions on how to heat as well as other snacks, water and a bottle of wine. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The phrase that comes to mind is "loving hands at home". My daughter and I have a wonderful visit and definitely enjoyed a home like feeling. You could tell that Connie and Fleming had put in a mountain of love and attention to this lovely home in Durham. We didn't have time to explore the grounds or feed the horses, but are planning to return with more time to spend in this lovely oasis. My daughter kept telling me, "nice job dad, this is the best".
Connie and Fleming were the most generous hosts. We felt so welcome and at home in the Eno Cottage. The place is so adorable with all the amenities we needed. My daughter loves horses so to have them in the backyard was dreamy for her. The kids rode the bikes, we played the yard games, we explored the Durham area. The Museum of Life & Science is very close and a perfect spot to go with the kids. The trail by the river down the road was lovely. Thank you to the Lyons!
This place is great! It is both quiet and serene while still being 15 minutes away from shopping and restaurants. The cottage is charming and we felt right at home....I typically judge hotels and b and b's on how well I sleep and these beds are SO comfy! Connie left us snacks upon arrival and carrots to feed the horses, which we loved! Will definitely be back!
