The amenities, cleanliness, comfort and details of the Eno Cottage were confirmed but did not surprised us, as we had read great reports from previous visitors. What we found to be extraordinary is the human quality and warmth of Connie and Fleming, who always anticipated any eventuality, shared with us the birth of new kittens, prepared toys, games and books for children and adults, advised us how to take care of pollen which exists in the area at this time of the year. When people love what they do, they reflect it in their actions, such the Eno Cottage offer to its guests. We stayed for 8 days with our daughter and her husband, as well as an 8 month old baby boy and a 4 year old boy, taking advantage of the facilities inside the cottage and the whole area around it, and the truth is that we can not be sure who of all of us has enjoyed more of the hospitality of our hosts. Perfect place to stay. Silvia and Benny

This is an excellent place to stay. The pictures don't do it justice. Although the posted photos portray a nice, clean cottage, they fail to capture the sense of welcoming one feels on crossing the threshold. Also not conveyed in the pictures is the generosity and kindness of the hosts. I truly cannot give enough praise. Our group of 5 adults and 1 child were quite comfortable here. The kitchen was well supplied. We like to cook, and were able to make several meals here with ease. The location is quite peaceful.

The Eno Cottage is perfect. Connie and Fleming are amazing hosts and really go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. I would definitely book the Eno Cottage again and it worked out great for our company's business travel to Durham.

A Perfect Host and a Perfect Place to Stay in Durham -- 5 Stars! Connie & Fleming were truly the perfect hosts from the beginning; they were extremely communicative and willing to answer all of our questions prior to renting, and remained readily available and willing to help throughout our stay. To provide context: we rented Eno Cottage for a week following our mom's hip replacement surgery at Duke Hospital. Since we aren't local to the area, we wanted to find a place that offered the comforts of home and that was accessible to town while still being private enough to ensure her peaceful recovery. We got to the house later than initially anticipated, arriving at night, due to a horrendous snow storm. The owners were not only understanding & flexible as to our arrival time, but also they were thoughtful enough to inform us that they had marked the driveway with large orange cones, so that we could easily see it on the country roads in the middle of the snow/dark. This proved to be a big help. Upon entering the house, there was a personal welcome message on the chalk board, along with get-well flowers for our mom. Since we arrived so late, and given the weather, it was great that we did not have to worry about getting the basic essentials of water, breakfast and coffee the next morning, as all were provided for us for the first couple days. As the week progressed, I noticed that the house was not missing a single thing that I needed…wine bottle openers, toaster, knives, cooking appliances, sheet pans, utensils, etc. The house has it all. The beds were nice and comfortable, and the house was very quiet. For someone who had just hip replacement surgery, there are no significant steps, not even into or out of the shower, to contend with, which was great. As our mom’s caretaker, I was able to easily get to Duke Regional Hospital in just 5 minutes, and had access to several quality takeout options each night-- all within just a 15 minute drive into Durham. Overall, the location is close enough to everything but also far enough away to have complete peace and quiet. I was able to take daily runs on the beautiful grounds, as well as befriend some horses with the carrots provided in the refrigerator. I would highly recommend Eno Cottage to anyone visiting the Durham area. Eno is the perfect combination of a nice hotel stay with the classic southern hospitality that is becoming all too rare these days. Thank you very much for making our stay so nice. Our mom will have to get her other hip replaced in the next couple months, and we hope to stay at Eno Cottage again for hip #2!

Our stay at Eno Cottage was absolutely wonderful! Connie and Fleming made it so easy for us from the time we made our reservation through our departure. The cottage was impeccably clean, and stocked with everything we could have possibly needed from shampoo and laundry detergent to wine, snacks, and even the tape we needed to wrap a last minute Christmas gift. We will definitely stay at Eno Cottage again!

I wish I could offer more than 5 stars because I would! 17 years ago, I met some amazing women and we became lifelong friends. Over the years, we have all moved to different areas of the east coast but get together every fall to reconnect and recharge. This year, we decided to visit the Durham area. While we'd originally wanted to stay in downtown Durham, we quickly changed our minds when we discovered Eno Cottage! The cabin offers any and every single detail you will need for a comfortable stay. Eno Cottage was very clean, linens were high quality and comfortable, kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped with anything you may need. The cottage is well decorated and I actually took photographs of some of Connie's ideas/decor so I could try to replicate them in my own home. Ha! The cottage is about a 12 minute, easy drive to downtown Durham. On Friday, we visited Tyler's Taproom in the Historic Tobacco District. On Saturday, per Connie's suggestion, we visited Parker and Otis (restaurant and gift shop) and Morgan Imports (gift shop) which were both incredible! While downtown Durham is about a 12 minute drive, there are plenty of grocery stores, fast food, pharmacy type places about 5 minutes from the cottage. The best part of our stay were all the personal touches (notes, snacks, breakfast, wine, carrots for the horses, etc.) Connie leaves for you. We were lucky enough to meet and spend a few minutes talking to Connie and you can tell how much she loves her cottage and hosting people in it. If you are reading these reviews to help you make a destination decision, you should just go ahead and book this charming cottage. You won't regret it.
