THE LOCAL AREA
THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE LONDON AT ITS BEST!!!
the premier shopping street in Europe is under a mile(1km) walk from the apartment. It is one and a half miles(2km) from end to end and is a shoppers paradise. Most shops open 10am until 6 or 7pm. Many also open on Sunday from 12 to 6pm with late nights on Thursday. Oxford Street is best known for Selfridges and the other big department stores which are all found in the section from Marble Arch to Oxford Circus, along with most of the big-name multinationals such as Nike, Primark, Topshop, Apple, etc. It's more of the same towards Tottenham Court Road, but generally on a smaller scale. Oxford Street is said to be the busiest shopping street in Europe.
The section of Edgware Road near to Marble Arch is famous for its distinctive Middle-Eastern character. Lebanese restaurants, shisha cafes and clubs line both sides of the road, with some staying open late into the night. Marble Arch station is a few minutes walk from the southern end of Edgware Road.
Just a short step away from the tourist hordes, the apartment still has the feel of a real neighbourhood, the wealthy residents are becoming ever more attractive as Harley Street, the traditional home of England's best doctors, has recently become the heart of the UK's flourishing plastic surgery industry.
The beautiful architecture (the Wallace Collection is a must) and the open spaces of Regent's Park and Hyde Park make this a fine area to have a wander, when the sun's out there are fewer places in London as scenic and special as Hyde Park.
While Marylebone High Street is absolutely charming, lined with traditional pubs, beautiful boutiques and shops (including the flagship Daunt Books) and excellent local restaurants as well as an impressive mix of hotels - and a farmer's market every Saturday.
A short walk from Marylebone is the home of the most famous fictional detective in the world 'Sherlock Holmes' bachelor flat at 221B Baker Street and the popular waxworks at Madame Tussauds.
We have Italian, Chinese speaking staff available. Please call us for any enquiries.
The location of the apartment is excellent, but, rather than that, there is really nothing much you can be happy about at Carrie’s. The place is really, seriously, dirty, and we are not picky people.. but finding bread crumbs on the carpet in the room, expired stinky food in the fridge and two dead cockroaches in the kitchen cupboard it’s way too much. Both the food and the insects were there the day we got in and were still there three days later when we left. The last day a new, huge, cockroach was found in the sink, and another guest killed and littered it. Not to mention the conditions of the kettle or the jar containing sugar. The room is incredibly tiny and the bed is a queen size, not double; there is hardly space to walk when you get in. The lamp on the bedside table (only one bedside table, because the bed is squished to the wall so one has to climb over the other person in order to get up) was chipped and the pieces were inside the lamp, together with more than a spoonful of woolen dust. The other lamp was not functioning at all, and the handle of the window was broken as well and just sitting on the window sill. Our towels had holes in them and were definitely too old and super used.
Clean, safe, large kitchen with everything you'll need. Windows couldn't be closed or opened wide and heating was weird but nothing too bad. Don't worry about the constant sound of sirens, there's a police station nearby. Thanks
very nice room. The appartment is very well located, with bus lines to St pancras and king's cross stations and to the town center (Oxford Street,....). A shop close to the appartment is very usefull (opened to 11 pm).
The room is very tiny. If you are going in 2 people, I recommend to chose the larger one. The apartment is a 3 minutes walking from edgware road station, so you could say that is well located. The bathroom is also really small, but if you are looking for a place with a very good cost-benefit this is the right place. I would definetly come back.
We really enjoyed the stay :)
The possibility of have small talks with other travelers in the big bright kitchen is great!
Highly recommended!!! The room, although a bit small, was very clean and quite comfortable. We got to know later that the one we had chosen was the smallest of all the rooms so if you have the possibility, choose another one and everything will be perfect then.
We have spent 3 nights in this flat and everything was alright, great stay. We haven't seen Carrie but the living with the other roomates went good. The flat (fully fitted) and his location are very convenient, we recommend!
Good location, 3-5 minutes walk to the underground, many cafes, fast food shops and Tesco nearby. The room is a bit small but very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay at 3-9/12/2013 very much!
Conveniently located close to a tube station, plenty of amenities nearby, though the building the apartment is in is a bit dingy. The room itself was quite nice, and the rest of the apartment spacious and well-fitted.
Clean, cosy and great place to stay. better than a hotel
