About This Listing
Welcome to my place.
I wish to offer you an unforgettable and comfortable place to stay in Reykjavik.
Private and clean as a hotel, but with the homely and elegant charm of a family home, a 1920's apartment in 101 Reykjavik.
I offer a very nice room recently renovated for 2 guests in the amazing city of Reykjavik.
The room is big and bright in a calm neighborhood. It has full size bed 180x200cm.
Towels and linens are provided upon arrival as well as some complementary extra such as coffee and tea.
The bathroom is shared with 2 other rooms and the kitchen as well.
The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, coffee maker, electric kettle, microwave and everything you could expect to be in a standard kitchen
The apartment is located in the more posh and old part of Reykjavik with a lot of large interesting architectural houses. The swimming pool, Sundhöll Reykjavíkur, is only one minute walk from the apartment.
Located next to our famus church Hallgrímskirkja and only 2 min walk to Laugavegur, the main shopping street in Iceland. On Laugavegur you also have all the most popular bars, restaurants and cafés in Reykjavik. There is a 24 hour supermarket close by (5 min. walk) and a low-cost option on laugavegur (10 min walk). You will also have great access to public transportation. Hlemmur, the main bus station, is located in a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Right next to Hlemmur there is a taxi stop.
HOW TO GET HERE
The drive trom Keflavík airport to Reykjavík should take around 45 minutes. The Flybus departs from Keflavík Airport 35-40 minutes after each flight arrival.
The busses are located right outside the terminal building. Its destination is BSI, the main bus station in Iceland. All scheduled buses in Iceland depart from BSI bus terminal in Reykjavik. The apartment is only 4-5 minutes away by foot and only 1 minutes by car from BSI bus station.
If you arrive by car you can park in the street for free.
This is shared apartment, no one is living there but if there is anything you can always contact me on my mobile or you can send me message on air bnb.
You have to clean up after your self in the kitchen and the bathroom, Please do not leave any towels on the floor, put them in the basket.
If you get in late you have to be quiet so you will not disturb the other guests.
We stayed in Reykjavik for three nights in Johann's apartment and thoroughly enjoyed it! Clean, very close to the city centre (and across the road from the famous church!) and modern. Lovely shower and comfy beds - would definitely recommend :-)
The simple self check-in was convenient. A great location with public pool/spa nearby.
Kitchenette accommodates only 1 of 3 guest rooms at a time (windows were being replaced during our stay). Shared bath between 3 room. No common room, so no real interaction with host or other guests.
Our room was big and bright and quiet, even will full occupancy.
We recommend Jóhann's flat.
La habitación está muy bien situada, justo detrás de la catedral. Fácil y rápido acceso a la estación de autobuses y zona comercial principal. Ofrece lo que promete; buen acceso, habitación amplia, casa bien equipada.Estuvimos a gusto. El anfitrión apareció fugazmente en casa y tampoco convivimos con él, por lo que dejamos esas valoraciones para otros.
Even though I did not see Johann, the whole experience was very smooth, from retrieving the keys to checking out. The apartment was super clean and spacious and was in a quiet location. The bed was so comfortable I slept like a baby the entire time. The location is a bit farther from town center than I would have liked but it was close to the bus terminal from which the Reykjavik Excursions tours departed so I was able to just walk there instead of waiting for the bus to pick me up, which would have been unpredictable.
There were two other guests staying in the same floor sharing the bathroom and kitchen but I never even saw them and they were quiet and kept everything extremely clean and organized. I would highly recommend this apartment to a single or couple who want a homey home to return to and who want to be closely situated to bus terminal.
The room was as described. Nice and big and clean.
Using the shared facilities was absolutely fine.
On the last day I had a lovely conversation in the kitchen with a fellow guest.
I'd book here again. Great value!
We enjoyed our stay here! The apartment was clean and the bed is very comfortable. One thing we really liked was the little sitting area in our very large bedroom - it is nice to come back in the evening and have some privacy. Kitchen is well-equipped.
We liked the neighborhood as well - the apartment is across from Hallgrimskirkja and you can hear the bells ring; it is also just up the street from a public swimming pool that we really enjoyed, as well as not too far from an excellent coffee shop/groceries/etc. We pretty much left our car parked out front and just walked around the city.
