Guest access

Facilities and Accommodation

The THH is not a hotel, rooms are simple but functional. Each bedroom comes with clean bedding, mosquito net, table for storage and towels. In total we have 3 private double bedrooms in the main tree house complex, which can sleep two people per room. We also have a large private family room that can sleep a maximum of 8 people. The family room is often recommended for families with young children (1-5 yrs old) as it is very spacious and easy to take care of your children, should they wake in the night. We have one other tree house that is located a short walk from the main tree house. Again this can sleep two people and is recommended for guests who want complete privacy during their stay. Bedding is laid out on the floor and there is a mosquito net as well as small table to store your belongings. This tree house has its own bathroom as well as sitting area and fire pit. Toilets in the main tree house structure are shared and have 2 hot showers and 1 cold. Although not common the water pressure at the THH can sometimes drop, due to problems with the piping system. During this period we ask guests to use our back up showering facilities, which are located a short walk from the tree house complex.

There are occasional power cuts, but they are usually rectified within a few hours. At the moment we do not have a back-up generator. There are torches at the Tree house, but please bring your own too should the power go out at night.

Tree House Terrace
The tree house terrace is where you will spend most of your time during your stay. It is a very spacious living area and is located on the lower level of the tree house, just below the sleeping area. There is a steep staircase leading down to the tree house, so those with young children will have to watch their children don’t try to navigate the stairs on their own. The terrace comes complete with two large dining tables, hammocks, fire pit and communal seating area.
The Tree House is very popular with families from toddlers to teenagers, we have hosted them all. Of course for toddlers who like to wander, you will need to keep a close eye on them as there are some gaps in the main wrap around terrace barricade. For trekking it is advised to bring a back-pack for young children. Treks take between 2-3hrs on average.

Trekking is one of the main activities at the THH, if you are not much of a trekker or have problems walking on uneven surfaces, then we either suggest only visiting the local school and village and then returning to the TH (walking time 30mins). If you really dislike walking then maybe the Tree House Tour is not for you. Treks are usually 2-3hrs in length and are medium to difficult in parts. Should you need them, we provide all guests with walking sticks. To a certain degree we can tailor the treks to suit your ability from ‘moderate’ to ‘tough’. The shortest trek usually takes at least 2hrs (not including time at waterfall). During the trek you will have to cross a few low level river crossings, you can either choose to take your shoes off and wade through the river or try to navigate the rocky stepping stones! If you have them, we highly recommend neoprene or amphibious shoes for the trekking.

Food and Beverage
All meals during your stay at the tree house are included in the price of the tour. All food is freshly prepared. We can cater to vegetarian and vegan guests.
There is a small bar at the Tree House, which sells beer and soft drinks as well as snacks, e.g. crisps, peanuts and dried fruits. Fresh Thai Arabica coffee and tea are available for purchase throughout your stay at the THH. Drinking water is provided for free throughout your stay at the THH.
The bar operates on an honesty system, in which you write down what you take and then pay on the day of your departure.

Interaction with guests

During your stay you will have an English speaking host, who will be able to help translate and answer any questions you may have about the local village, Thai culture and any other curiosities you may have.

We loved our stay at the tree house. Our guide, Moo, was very knowledgeable about the area and saw to our every need. He even included us in the local village's Thai New Year celebration. The hike to the waterfall was lovely and we enjoyed the temple and hot springs the following day. The tree house was peaceful and charming with delicious food. The only drawback we saw was waiting in line for the restrooms as the treehouse was full of visitors the 2nd night for Songkran, (but even this was a tiny inconvenience.) We would definitely return.

The Treehouse went beyond expectations. We were picked up in Chiang Mai, provided lunch, went on a hike to the waterfall, enjoyed a fantastic rain storm, ate dinner by candle light, and enjoyed the sounds of the jungle all evening. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel part of the family. Cannot recommend The Treehouse enough - definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Thailand.

This is an amazing spot to get away from the bustle of the city. We stayed one night, and it was so peaceful. The hike to the waterfall was so cool. With two great guides that told us about the jungle. Thanks for a great stay!

The tree house was amazing and the experience was one we won't soon forget. Beautiful Hideaway, great walks, relaxing atmosphere and very tasty the traditional Northen Thai dinner. Everyone made us feel very welcome with special thanks to our guide Mr. Woo.

5 star jungle adventure experience! This is actually an all-inclusive tour providing airport/hotel pickup from Chiangmai, all food, accommodation & tour guide for jungle adventure. We also stopped off at a hot spring on way to the tree house and for a lovely posh lunch. Brilliant massages from the amazing massage ladies in the evenings (for just a few quid) who we have adopted as our Thai grandmas!! Few tips:- Take old trainers so you can wade across river in jungle; it's chilly at night so take jumpers, and we took blankets to snuggle by the fire pit at night and were glad of them in bed too. Be prepared to see spiders - they're not poisonous but do get big! Mosquito nets keep them out the bed though! Highly recommend!

This is a very unique and interesting place to stay. The staff are welcoming and the treehouse is spacious with opportunities for a Thai massage, quiet evenings with friends and tasty food. The organisation is fab. A tip: bring your own beer soft drinks and snacks with you for down time. We will definitely recommend the treehouse to our friends.

Myself and my partner (Oppy) run a tour company in Chiang Mai, North Thailand. We operate a unique set of tours that take you out into the surrounding mountains of Chiang Mai and allow you to interact with local culture and explore there surrounding nature.

We have both travelled throughout Asia, Europe and North America, always seeking out adventure and authentic travel experiences our last memorable trip was to Yosemite National Park in California, where we were amazed at the stunning beauty of the park. The thundering waterfalls and the largest trees in the world make it a must see destination for any nature lover.

It is these same experiences that we bring to our tours, big trees, waterfalls, trekking and many more cultural and nature based experiences.

As well as Chiang Mai's surrounding mountains the city itself offers visitors a unique travel experiences that you won't find elsewhere in Thailand, the mix of traditional culture combined with modern services and an eclectic bunch of international expats, creates a city full of creative ventures, including a burgeoning arts scene, a plethora of live music venues and a food culture that caters to all tastes from high-end 'Gastro' restaurants to an abundance of street stalls and shacks serving super tasty Thai food.

A trip to Chiang Mai won't dissapoint, who knows you might even end up extending your trip and settling down for the long term :(URL HIDDEN)
