I have a room to rent in my 1920s bungalow with wood floors, plenty of natural light, and vintage charm. I live walking distance to great restaurants, the light rail, and several museums, in a bike-friendly, community-oriented neighborhood just north of downtown. I have chickens, a front yard vegetable garden, and a pretty patio that's perfect for hanging out in warm weather.
You'll have your own room in my house with wifi. It's a two bathroom home, so you will have the second bathroom to yourself, unless I have a friend in town. You'll have full access to a shared kitchen and common area. Breakfast and good coffee is included.
I've lived in Phoenix for six years, and I can give you recommendations about what to see, do, and eat while you're here. Depending on what you plan to do, this is the one part of the city that you can explore without a car. Depending on the time period, I may have a bike you can borrow.
I have two cats, but they live outdoors and are half-wild, so you'll ony see them if you really try to be their friend. I don't have a TV, but watching the chickens can be pretty entertaining. I love meeting new people and hope you enjoy your time in the city.
Interaction with Guests
I'm at work all day. I'll only see you in the morning if you're up early; otherwise, I'm home by 6.
The house is about 1/2 mile from the nearest light rail stop. It's two miles from the Convention Center.
No smoking please. I try to conserve electricity by keeping AC at 78-80 in summer and heat at 66-68 in winter-- if you're someone who needs the house a lot cooler or warmer than that, this might not be your place.
Great house, great neighborhood with easy walking access to restaurants, cafes, and a short mile walk to the historic art district. Plus, who doesn't love fresh eggs and fresh citrus?
Laura was a great host - she gave us our space, yet was always available for questions!
We only spent 1 full day in Phoenix but our stay couldn't have been more perfect. From the very beginning Laura was a great host. Her house is beautiful and comfy and in a cute neighborhood. She made us feel at home in an instant and we enjoyed the view at her chickens from the bedroom window. Getting downtown was pretty easy as well. Overall we couldn't have asked for more and would highly recommend her! Thank you, Laura! :)
Laura is a friendly and welcoming host. The house is spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The neighborhood is safe and very convenient to downtown and the convention center area through either bus or light rail system. I did not have a car and found it very easy to get around. There is a large bright bathroom adjacent to the bedroom. I was very busy being in for business but would love to come back and explore the many recreational opportunities. Thank you Laura for making my stay so comfortable !
Really enjoyed my first-ever Airbnb stay! Laura was warm and welcoming, offering home-baked bread and answers to myriad questions about the charming chickens as well as providing thoughtful recommendations on hiking in the area. This "urban farm" is delightful, and nearby one-of-a-kind cafes and restaurants make choosing difficult...so sample several :)
Convenient location in central Phoenix. Laura was easy to communicate with to schedule arrival.
Laura is a great host. She was flexible with our arrival and departure time. Each morning she baked scones or blueberry pancakes for us to enjoy; and they were delicious! Great coffee in the morning too. The room is equipped with a handy guestbook with great restaurant recommendations that are in walking distance. The bedroom has a comfortable bed and a closet with plenty of room to hang and store clothes. The bathroom is clean and spacious, and has a great shower. Theres plenty of living space to hang out. The chickens were a delight to watch in the morning by opening the bedroom curtains. And I loved sitting on the front patio in the sun and admiring the garden. Staying with Laura made our vacation to Phoenix special!
Staying with Laura was a fantastic first airbnb experience! The listing and neighborhood were exactly as described and Laura was a pleasure to be around. She accommodated my strange flight schedule very well and even had a airbnb guest-booklet to help guests to the Phoenix area find their way around. Laura keeps her house clean and was even kind enough to make me breakfast on a couple days of my stay. I highly recommend staying with Laura in you are in need of a nice room in the central Phoenix area. I couldn't have been happier with my experience.
I've lived in central Phoenix for seven years. I'm a lawyer during the week, but on the weekends I work in my garden, hike, and generally spend as much time as possible outside. I love to travel too. I believe that living in community makes us better people, and I'm always looking to meet new friends.
