The name “Casa Amanecer” means “Sunrise House”. The rustic modern structure (published in architecture magazine Su Casa, March 2009) faces east, where amazing sunrises may be taken in, along with the breath-taking panoramic view of the mountains.

Our good friend and associate Helen and staff will receive you and make you feel right at home. They love to converse with you and give you travel suggestions. Their first language is Spanish, so feel free to practice with them!
We are located in the small, rural neighborhood of San Juan, just 5 minutes northeast of San Ramon. It's peaceful and the climate is pleasant all year round.
We are just a one-minute walk to the bus. A taxi ride to town takes about 5 minutes and costs $5.
Smoking is not permitted in the room or on the property.
Breakfast is served between 8:00 and 9:00 each morning. If you would like an earlier breakfast, please let us know. Coffee and tea can be found on the veranda at 7:00 am. Please help yourself!
When showering, please use the "cold water" knob on right to activate the on-demand heater. Higher flow: cooler water. Lower flow: warmer water. Most toilet paper goes in the waste basket. Please use discretion.

The B&B on the mountain was a beautiful way to start our Costa Rican vacation. The setting is relaxing and serene.
Casa Amanecer is such a wonderful place to stay. Helen is so amazing. I think she can read wishes. She made us a tasty breakfast when we arrived much earlier than expected. One friend said 'she is gold' and yes she is! The room is very nice like the whole house. We absolutely recommend this place.
We had a great experience at Casa Amanecer! Our host, Helen was so accommodating and friendly. When we had a very early side trip to Manuel Antonio Park planned, she had coffee and breakfast waiting for us a 6am. The rooms were clean and comfortable (loved the shower). The climate in San Ramon is virtually perfect! Chris, you built a gem!
Nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement. L'endroit est très joli. Les déjeuners sont copieux et excellents.
Loved staying at Casa Amencer. Beautiful home, yard, and host who greeted us, Javier. We had a great time talking with Javier and he and Christopher did everything possible to help make alternative arrangements when we thought we would have to extend our stay due to the volcanic eruption. Everything about this place was amazing.
very nice hotel and very friendly hostess. would book again! Thanks for the good time.harry and irene(switzerland)
With it's close proximity to the airport, beautiful Casa Amanacer was the perfect place to begin our Costa Rica adventure. Our host, Helen, couldn't have been more gracious. She was warm and kind and helpful. The setting was sublime, perched high on a hill overlooking the coffee plantations; the rooms clean, tasteful, simple, and comfortable; breakfast plentiful and delicious. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.
About the Host, Christopher
We are Luisa Valdivia, from Peru, and Christopher Panzer, from the US, both former Habitat for Humanity employees. We built our teak and concrete home, with the purpose of serving as a bed and breakfast in the centrally located town of San Ramón in the province of Alajuela — coffee country!
Our friend and former coworker Helen and her sister live on site and take very good care of our guests. They are Costa Rican and know their country and culture like no one else and are very happy to welcome and introduce our guests to their lovely part of the world. Helen also speaks English and some French.
I (Christopher) and my wife and two children live in Maryland in the USA. I will confirm your reservation and answer any questions you might have. I look forward to hearing from you!
