  • Joe was a very nice host and attentive to guests' needs. He was a great help in finding our way throughout the city and informative about places in Manhattan. Location is ok. The apartment was pretty simple and small, but had everything you needed. The bathroom could use a touch of cleaning as it was a bit dirty. Aside from that, all was pretty good.

  • Joe was an enthusiastic and gracious host. He carried my bag all the way up the stairs to his 5th floor apartment (and back down again!). The room was clean, and he provided fresh linens and a subway map. He even shared some fresh pineapple with me! I loved that Joe gave me a set of keys so that I could come in and out as I pleased. I would recommend Joe's place to anyone who's looking for an affordable and clean room in upper Manhattan.

  • I stayed at Joe's place with my partner and it was a really spontaneous disicion to go to NYC! Joe was kind, helpful and nice. He helped us with the luggage and gave us some good tips where to go in the City. He offered us breakfast and coffee and all in all it was a very good experience at this place. We enjoyed it and I would definitely recommend his place. He gives you time for yourself but is also there if you need him!

    Thank you Joe :)

  • I was a high school student traveling for an audition at the Juilliard School.

First off, Joe met me as soon as I said I was at his apartment and insisted that he carried all of my luggage for me. I really appreciated that after a long day traveling. He showed me on the map where the nearest subway stations were and what lines I would need to take to get to Juilliard. The wireless internet worked without any problems and I was uninterrupted and kept private in my room. The bed was very comfortable and warm.

As much as I enjoyed my stay at Joe's apartment, there were some things that I did not enjoy. First was the smell of the apartment. When I walked in there was a weird smell that maybe I was not used to but weirdly enough this smell only existed in the hallway outside the room. As soon as I got in my room it was perfectly fine. Another complaint is that the desk in the room is very shaky and did not seem very stable. I was scared multiple times that I would break the desk. Finally there was this hissing noise that randomly started and stopped that was coming from a pipe in the room.

All in all it was what I paid for, a room in NYC that was extremely affordable. I really enjoyed Joe's hospitality and friendly characteristics and his words of encouragement before my audition. He even bargained a taxi driver to get me to the airport a a reduced rate! He know's how to host people properly and if you are looking for a nice cozy room to rent, this is the place to go.
