About this listing
Our unique one bedroom, self-contained Annexe has everything you could possibly need for a great stay in Inverness. Take a 10 minute stroll along the River Ness to the city, drive to Loch Ness (15 mins!) or enjoy a cosy night in.
A completely self-contained, wholly detached annexe cottage, with under-floor heating throughout, in a garden setting within the grounds of Mews House. The cottage is just 5 minutes walk from Inverness city centre, the picturesque River Ness, Eden Court theatre, the cathedral, galleries, shops, (real ale) pubs, cafes, restaurants, train and bus stations, tourist information and just about everything you could need for a great holiday. The best this new millennium city of Inverness has to offer is at your doorstep and, nearby, some of the most famous locations in the Highlands: Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness; Castle Stuart Golf Course; Culloden Battle Field; Fort George and much, much more of what the Highlands has to offer.
The Annexe Cottage is set within secure grounds with a well maintained quiet garden and off-street parking. Although our accommodation is self-catered, we are able to provide continental breakfast provisions should you so wish (at no additional cost).
The fully equipped kitchenette has everything you need if you'd like a night in and cook, or if you fancy trying your hand at a traditional Scottish cooked breakfast! This includes: a two-ring electric hotplate with extractor fan above; a dishwasher; a washing machine; a refrigerator with freezing compartment; a microwave-convection oven; a toaster; a kettle; crockery; cutlery; glassware; pots & pans; and utensils.
The living area includes a breakfast table with two bar-chairs; a double seater leather sofa; an easy chair; a coffee table, a wall-mounted High Definition television; and a feature electric fire. It is a naturally light filled space thanks to the extended skylight with window below and a further full length window to the side of the front door. However, shutters and blinds ensure that privacy can be easily obtained.
The bedroom has two single beds that can be locked together to form a queen sized bed and there is a wardrobe, side tables with lamps and a chair. The window blind, bedhead cover, cushions and bed-rug are all made from locally sourced Scottish Harris tweed.
The bathroom is spacious and has a walk-in shower; a toilet/WC; a basin with storage drawer below; a chair and a laundry basket. The space is tastefully decorated with muted natural coloured stone tiles.
Window shutters and blinds throughout the property provide a choice of privacy and daylight control options.
All linens and towels are provided. An ironing board and iron are also provided. Free wifi access is available on a responsible usage basis.
We regret that the property is not suited to disabled access - please contact us if you have other special access needs.
Please note we keep a strictly no smoking policy.

Jack immediately met us when we arrived. He showed us all of the details of the annex house. The house was beautiful and updated. It had everything we needed for a comfortable one-night stay. It is centrally located to the downtown shops, attractions, restaurants and the river walk. We would definitely stay here again!
The Annexe was exactly as
I turned -- very comfortable, cute and had everything we needed. Great location - within walking distance to the center of old town and the castle. Everything was very nice. Had a bit of a problem finding the place.....but Jack was good about communicating via texts. Love the washer/dryer combo.
Really nice clean and cosy Annexe cottage, perfect parking for your car and small distance for a stroll to the Riva Italian restaurant at the other site of the river.... Wow great food! Also the Kitchen restaurant what Jack recommended was really nice
We really enjoyed our stay and thank you Jack for your warm welcome
If we come back to Inverness we will book the Annexe again :)
The Annexe was welcoming with a well equipped kitchen and very nice bathroom. It was clean and modern and very comfortable.
Jack is a very friendly host and the communication was really easy. The flat is exactly as in the pictures, very comfortable and well decorated, with all you need for holidays. Jack and Chrysanne left us a really nice breakfast and we were sorry we couldn't stay for longer. We would definitely come back and we highly recommend this property to the Airbnb community.
"The Annex" is modern, clean and in a great location. Jack made us feel very welcome, making sure we were comfortable and gave us excellent recommendations which made our short visit to Inverness wonderful.
You could not wish for a more delightful place to stay than Annexe Cottage. And Jack and Chrysanne are charming and attentive hosts. The cottage is both beautiful and practical. Breakfast provisions were plentiful. We would recommend Annexe Cottage for anyone looking for a place to stay in Inverness. )Oh yes, it is central too. A short walk into town).
About the Host, Jack & Chrysanne
Jack and Chrysanne are recently retired. Long term residents of Inverness, (where we recently ran a successful four-star Bed & Breakfast on the River Ness), we previously lived and worked in Hong Kong for over a decade.
Jack has continued his career as an architect into retirement, designing and project managing the Annexe Cottage, while Chrysanne's love of interior design is apparent in the fit-out of our home and cottage.
Still keen travellers we are regular visitors to Australia, where our daughter and her husband are currently living. We love meeting new people and sharing our knowledge and love of the area we live in.
