Our unique one bedroom, self-contained Annexe has everything you could possibly need for a great stay in Inverness. Take a 10 minute stroll along the River Ness to the city, drive to Loch Ness (15 mins!) or enjoy a cosy night in.
A completely self-contained, wholly detached annexe cottage, with under-floor heating throughout, in a garden setting within the grounds of Mews House. The cottage is just 5 minutes walk from Inverness city centre, the picturesque River Ness, Eden Court theatre, the cathedral, galleries, shops, (real ale) pubs, cafes, restaurants, train and bus stations, tourist information and just about everything you could need for a great holiday. The best this new millennium city of Inverness has to offer is at your doorstep and, nearby, some of the most famous locations in the Highlands: Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness; Castle Stuart Golf Course; Culloden Battle Field; Fort George and much, much more of what the Highlands has to offer.
The Annexe Cottage is set within secure grounds with a well maintained quiet garden and off-street parking. Although our accommodation is self-catered, we are able to provide continental breakfast provisions should you so wish (at no additional cost).
The fully equipped kitchenette has everything you need if you'd like a night in and cook, or if you fancy trying your hand at a traditional Scottish cooked breakfast! This includes: a two-ring electric hotplate with extractor fan above; a dishwasher; a washing machine; a refrigerator with freezing compartment; a microwave-convection oven; a toaster; a kettle; crockery; cutlery; glassware; pots & pans; and utensils.
The living area includes a breakfast table with two bar-chairs; a double seater leather sofa; an easy chair; a coffee table, a wall-mounted High Definition television; and a feature electric fire. It is a naturally light filled space thanks to the extended skylight with window below and a further full length window to the side of the front door. However, shutters and blinds ensure that privacy can be easily obtained.
The bedroom has two single beds that can be locked together to form a queen sized bed and there is a wardrobe, side tables with lamps and a chair. The window blind, bedhead cover, cushions and bed-rug are all made from locally sourced Scottish Harris tweed.
The bathroom is spacious and has a walk-in shower; a toilet/WC; a basin with storage drawer below; a chair and a laundry basket. The space is tastefully decorated with muted natural coloured stone tiles.
Window shutters and blinds throughout the property provide a choice of privacy and daylight control options.
All linens and towels are provided. An ironing board and iron are also provided. Free wifi access is available on a responsible usage basis.
We regret that the property is not suited to disabled access - please contact us if you have other special access needs.
Please note we keep a strictly no smoking policy.

This little gorgeous place, the photos just don't show how amazing it actually is. Loved staying here as hosts were superb, the space was fantastic, the style and warmth and feel of the whole cottage was just fabulous. It was such a relaxing one night stay, I wished I stayed longer.
This self build fit for purpose cottage is the best place we have ever stayed in Inverness. Fantastic!!
I had a very pleasant experience staying at Jack & Chrysanne's Annexe cottage. The Annexe was clean, comfortable, secure, private, well equipped and as described. Jack & Chrysanne made me feel very welcome and I'd definitely stay again.
Jack was very accommodating! The cottage is very modern and well kept- perfect for two people (a couple) traveling together. Extremely clean as well. They already had some bread for toast and some jam and butter available for breakfast, as well as cereal. A highlight for me was two mini shots of Famous Grouse Whisky waiting for us when we got in! 10/10 would stay here again.
Fantastic few days over new year, the property was amazingly comfortable and the location was very central Would definitely recommended coming here. Great base to explore the highlands
Jack met us on arrival and was very warm and friendly.
The Annexe Cottage is in a very nice area, which is close to the city centre.
Jack and Chrysanne's listing as great!! My friend and I stayed there for 3 nights and it was perfect. The listing is exactly as described. It's small but very well kept, clean, and quaint. They even supplied the fridge with food to make breakfast. I highly recommend anyone traveling to Inverness to stay here. One thing to note is that Google maps didn't give the best directions from the train station to the place so just be aware of that.
I just love this cottage! It's on a very quiet street, but just a few minutes walk to the river, excellent restaurants, and the downtown area, so you get the proximity to the sites, but without all of the bustle. The property is beautiful and meticulously maintained, and has all of the comforts of home! Love the spacious bathroom! I only spoke with Jack for a few moments, but he was very sweet and welcoming, and I felt extremely comfortable my entire stay!
Also, the heated floors are wonderful!
Jack and Chrysanne are recently retired. Long term residents of Inverness, (where we recently ran a successful four-star Bed & Breakfast on the River Ness), we previously lived and worked in Hong Kong for over a decade.
Jack has continued his career as an architect into retirement, designing and project managing the Annexe Cottage, while Chrysanne's love of interior design is apparent in the fit-out of our home and cottage.
Still keen travellers we are regular visitors to Australia, where our daughter and her husband are currently living. We love meeting new people and sharing our knowledge and love of the area we live in.
