A completely self-contained, wholly detached annexe cottage, with under-floor heating throughout, in a garden setting within the grounds of Mews House. The cottage is just 5 minutes walk from Inverness city centre, the picturesque River Ness, Eden Court theatre, the cathedral, galleries, shops, (real ale) pubs, cafes, restaurants, train and bus stations, tourist information and just about everything you could need for a great holiday. The best this new millennium city of Inverness has to offer is at your doorstep and, nearby, some of the most famous locations in the Highlands: Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness; Castle Stuart Golf Course; Culloden Battle Field; Fort George and much, much more of what the Highlands has to offer.
The Annexe Cottage is set within secure grounds with a well maintained quiet garden and off-street parking. Although our accommodation is self-catered, we are able to provide continental breakfast provisions should you so wish (at no additional cost).
The fully equipped kitchenette has everything you need if you'd like a night in and cook, or if you fancy trying your hand at a traditional Scottish cooked breakfast! This includes: a two-ring electric hotplate with extractor fan above; a dishwasher; a washing machine; a refrigerator with freezing compartment; a microwave-convection oven; a toaster; a kettle; crockery; cutlery; glassware; pots & pans; and utensils.
The living area includes a breakfast table with two bar-chairs; a double seater leather sofa; an easy chair; a coffee table, a wall-mounted High Definition television; and a feature electric fire. It is a naturally light filled space thanks to the extended skylight with window below and a further full length window to the side of the front door. However, shutters and blinds ensure that privacy can be easily obtained.
The bedroom has two single beds that can be locked together to form a queen sized bed and there is a wardrobe, side tables with lamps and a chair. The window blind, bedhead cover, cushions and bed-rug are all made from locally sourced Scottish Harris tweed.
The bathroom is spacious and has a walk-in shower; a toilet/WC; a basin with storage drawer below; a chair and a laundry basket. The space is tastefully decorated with muted natural coloured stone tiles.
Window shutters and blinds throughout the property provide a choice of privacy and daylight control options.
All linens and towels are provided. An ironing board and iron are also provided. Free wifi access is available on a responsible usage basis.

We have a lovely stay at Annex.
The cottage got everything you need and in great condition.
Thank you for hosting us.
Jack and Chrysanne's Annexe Cottage was perfect - exactly what we were looking for. It's located close enough to walk to the town centre, very nicely furnished and more than spacious enough for two people. All the fittings were modern and in perfect working order, the washer/dryer combo came in handy!
Jack was very nice (unfortunately we didn't meet Chrysanne) and nothing was too much trouble - he even offered to drive us to the train station on the morning of our departure.
This was a last minute booking from us, the host's prompt responses made everything so much easier.
Loved our stay there and would highly recommend it if you're heading to Inverness!
Absolutely perfect place to stay. Can't recommend enough.
The cottage was amazing!! Great location by the river. It's bigger in person than what the pictures show. Cottage beautifully decorated and very cozy. Heated flooring too - great when it was cold in late Oct! Jack was very nice and courteous and was more than happy to check us in early. Also, he gave some great recommendations for restaurants. Next hiking trip in Scotland - we will definitely stay there!
We stayed at Annexe Cottage to run our first marathon and picked it because it was closed to the finish line.
We will stay there again next time we visit Inverness, because it was really a great little home away from home.
The place is even better than it looks in the pictures, very clean and well maintained.
The beds felt like sleeping in clouds. Soooo comfy. There's plenty of space for two and the little kitchen is great for arranging your own meal insanely early in the morning (but you'll be at walking distance from plenty of restaurants and grocery stores).
Jack and Chrysanne are adorable and they really did their best to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
Side note: the shower is big and awesome and after running a marathon we were so very glad we weren't in a small hotel bathroom with disappointing water pressure and limited space to move around.
The wifi wasn't super strong, but it might be our phones
Immaculate, very tasteful, modern, but cozy 2 room + large bathrroom with great, beautiful shower. Great hosts.....great location......easy walks to town or strolling the lovely River News. We highly recommend the cottage & Inverness.
This was an absolutely adorable gorgeous flat. Jack was very easy to reach and ready to greet us once we arrived. The flat was modern, clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with breakfast food and tea. Just a walk away were all the restaurants and shops that one would need, and the walk itself is quite enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend this flat for anyone travelling to Inverness, single/couple; it was excellent!
We have stayed in many rented flats and homes all over the world, and this is one of the best! The cottage is not even a year old, very modern and clean, comfortable - and it is so cute! I didn't want to leave.
The washer/dryer combo was extremely appreciated and convenient, as was the microwave/convection oven combo. The shower was brilliant - plenty of hot water - and the floor heating was so cozy on chilly mornings. The skylights are a wonderful way to add natural light. And the wifi was speedy. Just want to add that to get hot water in the bathroom sink you have to turn the water on full pressure - not faulty plumbing; it's the way the faucet was designed.
Jack and Chrysanne even provided some groceries to get us started - eggs, bread, cereal, milk, juice, coffee, and teas. I had to buy ground coffee for the French press, but that was not a problem. It was the best coffee I've had since I left home four weeks ago, thanks to the French press!
The location of the cottage was perfect. Inverness is a very walkable city, and only five minutes from the cottage to the city centre. And only a block to the lovely Ness River walk. Many restaurants along the river walk on both sides of the river. There's plenty of shopping within walking distance, including a shopping mall if you need something besides souvenirs.
Just as you get to the city centre, on the other side of Inverness castle, is a wonderful little museum called the Inverness Museum and Gallery. Well done displays and good deals in the gift shop.
We had a wonderful stay. Thank you, Jack and Chrysanne!
It was a lovely little cottage, very clean and modern, we had everything we needed and it was close to the city center. Absolutely loved it!
Jack was avery courteous and friendly host. The Annexe Cottage is built and finished to a very high standard. The attractive location near the river is excellent for exploring Inverness on foot. It is close to the CBD and an easy walk to the railway station. There is ecure carparking. Many thanks.
