It was such an amazing stay! The area, house and hosts were great. Much better than staying at any 5 star hotel. Nearby wineries and outdoor adventures. You wake up in the morning with absolute stunning nature views.
Staying at Kathy's place was unbelievable. Way better than the Four Seasons.
We were greeted by her dog Sam, who couldn't be more loving and welcoming. He is apparently a talented local yoga and pilates instructor.
We had our own carport and parked right out front of the entrance to our space. It was there that we found a delicious muffin and croissant waiting for us on our first morning.
There was a full kitchen downstairs, with plenty of condiments and coffee. Kathy even provided us with orange juice and milk.
Kathy's artwork lined the stairs, and was relaxing and beautiful.
At the top of the stairs was a sweet dining room, decorated beautifully. There was a library area upon entering the bedroom. Great books and plenty to read to learn about the area. The bed in the bedroom was huge, and every detail was paid attention to, from the fireplace that lights up by remote, to the reading lamps over the bed, to the bedding fit for royalty and the Christmas tree with wine country ornaments.
The views from the sitting area are unrivaled. The balcony was huge. The wooden vaulted ceilings were a dream. The walk-in closet was huge. We joked that we could have rented out the bathroom because it was so big. And it had wooden vaulted ceillings, a towel warming rack, huge shower, Jaccuzi tub, his and hers sinks with all kinds of bathroom items provided (even razors!). Even great views from the bathroom.
Kathy surprised us with a bottle of local wine on New Year's Eve. She couldn't have been anymore accommodating seeing to all our needs.
We had a fantastic time, and were amazed that we could pull ourselves away because we just might have found heaven.
Great place to spend a few days to wind down from the city. Peaceful setting with plenty of great hiking, biking and good scenery nearby. Great bath tub (for two people, with jets) and bed :) We also enjoyed watching a move from the hosts' Netflix account.
Kathy's place is a wonderful place to stay. The apartment has a private entry and was impeccably clean. The bedroom/lounge views were incredible and the bathroom was huge and luxurious. The bed was extremely comfortable. Kathy left us to ourselves but was extremely helpful when we knocked on her door to introduce ourselves. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. A great place to unwind and explore the surrounding area, being well located to winery regions. Thanks again, Kathy!
We had a lovely stay at Kathy's house. The views are indeed spectacular and it is so quiet and peaceful. Our 18mo son enjoyed exploring their garden and getting to know the ever sage Sam.
Don't contemplate. Just stay here ! ! ! Pat and I spent five very peaceful and quiet nights here. Sitting at the bay window, sipping wine, looking across the canyon, watching the moon rise and set, hearing the rain the last night, and just talking with each other as husband and wife of 34 years was just priceless! And..., what a respite from the traffic of 101. You will not be sorry for staying here - we guarantee. Pat and I have made a practice of staying at B&B's for the last 15 years or so instead of motels. Bar none, this is the nicest we have ever experienced. If we could give it more that five stars, we would.
We were impressed with the description, pictures, and reviews from other guests regarding this rental. We decided to try it out and spent a long weekend there (4 nights). What a delightful and relaxing time we had! The accommodations were fantastic, and exceeded our expectations. We had beautiful weather and the views were stunning. The locale was central to so many of our local in the wine country and surroundings. The hosts were very helpful and accommodating. At the same time, they provided us with a great deal of privacy. It's no surprise that we can't wait till our next trip up there on. Furthermore, I will highly recommend this locale to our friends.
We were completely satisfied with our stay here. What a perfect spot! The rental is gorgeous, very spacious and has amazing views. We felt at home immediately. And its location is fantastic for exploring Sonoma County. We hope to visit again. HIGHLY recommend!
Kathy's place was far beyond our expectations, it looked lovely from the photos anyway, but I was so surprised when we arrived and saw the unbelievable views across the valleys. The apartment has a HUGE bathroom with 2 sinks and plenty of space to spread out. Kathy had thought of everything and went beyond any hosts we encountered on our American roadtrip across California. Not only is there a cool downstairs kitchen but a small one upstairs too. Also a walk-in wardrobe. The views from the balcony are second to none so much so that we stayed in both nights that we were there, which is unusual for us. I know I'll be recommending this place to all of my friends and family too as it is a really peaceful location at the top of the hills. 5 stars all round from us! Thanks again Kathy and hope to visit again one day.
My husband and I had the time of our lives. The views from the beautiful apartment were breathtaking. We biked in the Dry Creek area and canoed on the Russian River. Rarely ate out because eating on the beautiful balcony was an amazing treat. Kathy was a wonderful hostess. We will hold the trip in our fondest memories.
