The Space

Springwild is a three-acre property at the end of Boyer lane, where it's quiet. Spread out on our propery we have the Springwild Vacation rental, another small casita that we rent out as a vacation rental, a casita we rent out full time and our place, which use to be a wood shop. We are only five minutes from the Taos plaza but it feels like a world away, and twenty miles from the Taos ski Valley. It is surrounded by open fields that roll to the Rio Fernando and it's red willows, thousands of migratory birds and mountain views that will take your breath away. The colors at the edge of the day is what brings artists to Taos and the views of the Sangre de Cristo at sunset are incredible. Springwild is perfect for your family vacation or family reunion, wedding parties, couples getaway, friends retreat, or for an artist or writer looking for peace and quiet.

The house was built by artist, sculptor, architect, landscape artist, philosopher, gardener, dietitian, cook, poet and steward..... Malcolm Brown . He described life at SpringWild as an experiment in transition to a world of peace, happiness and fulfillment for all.

The unique structure of the Main House is brimming with detailed woodwork of a craftsman. This is not your ordinary house, the longer you're here the more you see. The whole south/east side of the house is windows. When the sun rises over the Canyon Saddle it brings the morning suns warm rays into the kitchen... a great morning spot.
The ground floor consists of the living area, full gourmet kitchen, one bathroom, one Master bedroom and the laundry room. Up a short flight of stairs next to the laundry room is a private bedroom with a view of the kitchen garden, the pastures, the Rio, out to the mountains.

The second level of the house holds two beautiful built-in king size beds lined by windows overlooking the property. To get to the second level you climb a ladder type stairway with rallings. There is also a veranda on this level to sit and relax and enjoy the mountain view.

On the third level is a cozy queen-sized sleeping area surrounded by windows, perfect for star gazing. This level is also has a ladder type stairway. The kids love this room. From here a stairway leads up to a warm, single person meditation room.

Just a few steps outside the main house is the 'Bath House'. This is a full bathroom, heated and carpeted with a beautiful mosaic shower/tub, toilet, sink and a large dressing area. The Bath House is shared by other people living on the property.

There is a large area right outside the kitchen with a big table, umbrella, BBQ, bar area, croquet pitch and sunset Taos Mountain views. During the summer enjoy eggs from our chickens and fresh vegetables from our organic garden. You will love this enchanted place.
You are 5 minutes from town where there are lots of art galleries, shops and restaurants, and 20 minutes from the Taos Ski Valley. Close by is river rafting, hiking and hot air ballooning.
