Cozy and warm studio cabin built with very high building standards and building materials. Imported spanish tiles, wood cabinets and ceiling, queen size bed, 1 bathroom, kitchen with a very nice spanish style design. While your stay you will enjoy comfort, privacy, views to the Baru Volcano and the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy the singing of the many birds that hang around the many trees that form part of the lot where the cabin is located. Very quiet and safe neighborhood like most of Boquete. Convenience stores and restaurant very close. Lots of outdoor sports and activities such as bird watching, rock climbing etc. Public transportation right outside your door and the main highway is only two blocks from the cabin.
Spent the month of FEB 2014 at the cabin and enjoyed it very much. Cozy and complete and the perfect place for us. Ulises was the perfect host, always there if you needed him, thoughtful and informative. We highly recommend this place.
Ulises and Silvia are just about the greatest hosts you can find the world over. From the very beginning, Ulises was there to answer all my pending questions prior to check-in. He replies lightening fast and is always available and willing to help you out above and beyond.
We took a long bus ride into Boquete from Coronado and Ulises gave us instructions as to where to get off on the bus and he would personally pick us up and bring us to the cabin. Perfect execution!
The cabin is situated within a large private fenced lot that is lovingly tended to by Ulises and his wife. Beautiful florals, greens and even a banana and plantain tree out back. It felt like our very own home for 3 weeks.
The cabin itself is so comfortable and spacious. Had everything that we needed to cook at home.
There are a couple trucks that go by the neighbourhood with a loud speaker a couple days a week (mostly around the weekends) that sell pineapples, watermelons, papayas, tomatoes, yucca, culantro, carrots, fish and shrimp. I especially liked this feature as we didn't have a car so lugging home 5 watermelons and 2 giant papayas was not an option.
My husband and I work online quite a bit and the internet worked very well. We also enjoyed looking out at Baru Volcano from our veranda or just inside the house while we worked or even on the bed the curtains are open. Perfect sunsets every night.
I will miss doing my aerobics on the outside veranda facing the beautiful green trees and birds flying by.
Though we didn't have a car, cost-efficient taxis and buses were readily available to catch just a minute walk from the cabin to the main road.
Ulises took us one day up toward Boquete and beyond to check out the hiking trails, waterfalls, coffee plantations and more! He would be able to answer just about any question you have about the area. So unexpected but so very much appreciated and unforgettable.
We would have loved to stay longer in the cabin but it was booked but Ulises took the initiative to show us another home that we could rent. And that is where we are now!
This was certainly THE optimum stay for a couple expecting a baby and looking to just relax.
Thank you for leaving us the awesome fruits on arrival. Our baby thanks you!
Don and I can't say enough positive things about Ulises and his cabin. Ulises went above and beyond for us. He picked us up from the bus stop and took us to get groceries upon our arrival. It was very comforting to know that we could call Ulises if we needed something. The cabin is lovely and very well organized. Don and I are very happy with the whole experience. Thank you so much Ulises!!
This was a lovely place to stay while visiting the Boquete area. It's a taxi ride from the town, but in a collectivo, that's only about 75 cents per person. The cabin is new, is technically an efficiency, but so large that it feels like a suite. There is a nice patio in the back that is a great place to have breakfast and the full kitchen is stocked with what you'd need to make your meals. The view is of the countryside, and the stars at night are awesome.
If Airbnb would ever think of recognizing it's members, then Ulises and Silvia should definitely be considered for Best Friendliest Hosts Award. The cabin should be also receiving the Best Home Away from Home distinction.
Thank you for the best stay during our two weeks travel in Panama.
What a great host Ulises was! The Sunset cabin is the perfect place to stay just minutes from Boquete's centre. Clean and fully equipped, we would certainly have made use of the kitchen, terrace and BBQ had we stayed longer. The town itself is beautiful and Ulises provided great suggestions for us to take advantage of our short time there.
We had a wonderful time at the Sunset Cabin!
It was a very nice house, clean and in a very nice surrounding.
Going to town with cabs and buses was no problem at all.
Ulises was waiting for us in David and that was very nice, so we didn't have to take another bus, after a long day coming in from Panama City.
Thank you Ulises (and your wife) for such a nice experiment in a very beautiful place like Boquete. We loved it very much and will recommend your cabin for sure to others!

Ulises really came through for our family of 4 in a pinch! Though he had just had guests leave the cottage the afternoon we wanted to book AND move in (we like to do things last minute,) he had it cleaned and ready for us by the time we got there in the early evening. He offered to pick us up in town, but because we had a car, he came down and had us follow him to the cabin, which was great. It would have been difficult to find without him.
Though the cabin is outside of Boquete, it's a quick drive into town - about 8 minutes.
The cabin itself is very nice, clean and well-equipped. The furnishings are very nice and made me feel right at home. Though we didn't use the kitchen much, it does contain most of what you would need to prepare a proper meal. The bathroom is spacious and modern. The main living area has a bed and a fold-out couch. The couch was fine for the kids, but an adult definitely wouldn't enjoy sleeping on it as the mattress is very thin and you can feel the supports right through it. The queen size bed had very nice, soft bedding, but the mattress itself was lacking. It was hard and therefore very uncomfortable for me, but my husband said he didn't have any issues with it. I tend to have a difficult time finding comfortable mattresses in any case.
Our favorite part of the cabin was the back porch. It's covered and faces some beautiful tropical plants. We sat out there for hours, eating or just working on our laptops while it poured outside. Very relaxing!
Ulises was very helpful to us and answered a few of our questions about Boquete and about where we were headed next. His tips really came in handy! Thanks, Ulises!
If ever in Boquete, we would stay at the Sunset Cabin again. It's a great deal for a beautiful place!
Ulises was great, and his place is top notch. Ulises picked us up from the airport in David, since he was down there, and drove us in. The place was really relaxing and wonderfully constructed. The only down side was that it was further from town than I thought, but we rented a car which worked out really well.
This great little deal in Boquete is a treat. The first thing I noticed setting foot into the cabin was the pleasant cedar smell. The next: the overwhelming charm.
The cabin is located just outside of Boquete, but catching public transportation to town or anywhere else is no problem. The place is clean and perfectly maintained and shows a lot of pride of ownership.
Ulises was great about giving me a little orientation to the neighborhood and town, and he even dropped me off at a hike across the pueblo at the foot of the volcano.
I never did see a quetzal in two moderate hikes, and I kinda feel like I was off on a snipe hunt, but that's my only complaint!
