With amazing fresh ingredients just around the corner in the many independent shops of Whitstable, it's the perfect place for budding chefs to test out recipes!
However, if cooking isn't your thing, the cottage is a charming escape from the stresses of the modern world.

Interaction with Guests
I'm available via email or mobile but guests are unlikely to meet me. However, our neighbour Kirsty will show guests around and is also able to answer any questions or queries that guests may have.
Whitstable is fantastic: it's full of independent shops; lots of amazing bars and restaurants; it also has a thriving artist community so there are some lovely galleries and as a consequence the town has a lovely arty vibe to it! Obviously the seaside is a big attraction and just strolling along the beachfront is a lovely way to spend the day.
Train station is about a 10 minute walk from the cottage. Once you're in Whitstable most things are a about a 5 min walk away from the cottage which is in an amazing location - less than 5 mins away from the beach, shops and bars.
There is parking outside the cottage but in the busy summer months guests may have to park in a nearby street. However, because the street is a no through road guests will be able to unload their car just out side the cottage and then park it nearby. As the cottage is so centrally located and everything is so close by, guest shouldn't need their cars until they leave.
Other Things to Note
We provide a small hamper that contains lots of information about things to do in Whitstable and the surrounding area as well as a bottle of wine as a welcome gift!
There are also lots of books, DVDs and games that guests can use throughout their stay. We also have two toddler gates for each staircase and a travel baby cot for guests that have young children in their party. (Please note that as with all these old fisherman's cottages the stairs are very steep and may not be ideal for small children. Guests that do book our cottage who have small children do so at their own risk however if the stair gates are used there shouldn't be a problem and we have had lots of guests who have stayed with with young toddlers and there have been no issues.
There are no house rules however we do ask guests to treat the cottage with respect and keep it clean & tidy during their stay. The whole cottage is rented out for either a weekend or a whole week or longer and guests are encouraged to treat the cottage like it was their home. We want people to enjoy our cottage as much as we do.
Ideally we would prefer not to rent the cottage out for any period shorter than 2 nights and in the peak summer months we would prefer week books only.
The cottage is suitable for children however as this is a very old fisherman's cottage the stairs are very steep and may not be ideal for very young children.
Pets are more than welcome.
Please also note that we are not responsible for guests travelling to and from the cottage - although we are happy to answer any questions guests may have about travelling to the cottage - we cannot be held responsible if for whatever reason guests are unable to get to the cottage once a booking has been confirmed.
