Features a fully equipped kitchen, dedicated workspace, and a serene shared garden. Comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests in a private bedroom with a queen bed, a sofa bed in a semi-private area and a sofa bed in the livingroom. The space
Welcome to your wonderfully clean, comfortable, and cozy home away from home! This stylishly remodeled lower-level apartment is a peaceful, calming space filled with natural light from full south-facing windows overlooking a lovely garden. While technically a basement, it feels bright and airy.

• Kitchen: Fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, and a full complement of cooking gadgets and utensils. We provide olive oil, vinegars, limited spices, and a Keurig with coffee, black tea, and herbal tea pods. • Living & Office Area: This open space features two comfortable fold-out double sofa beds, a TV with basic cable, Prime Video, Netflix, and Apple subscriptions. Room divider screens are available to create a more private bedroom space. • Dining Area: A dining table that comfortably seats six. • Bedroom: A tranquil room with a walk-in closet stocked with thoughtful extras including bathrobes, slippers, eye masks, earplugs, and a white noise machine. • Bathroom: Features a convenient in-unit washer/dryer. We provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a wide array of toiletries. • For Your Downtime: Enjoy the interesting books, games, and Alexa dots for music we've placed throughout the apartment.

IMPORTANT: Please be aware that the ceilings are on the low side, measuring 6' 9" throughout most of the apartment.

*Children must be at least 8 years old.

*Must be at least 25 years old to book. Picture of your photo ID required to be sent upon booking.

*There is an additional one time charge of $25 for the use of each sofa bed. Please let me know in advance if you plan on using the sofa bed and I will supply bedding for it.

*Please don't apply perfume, cologne or essential oils before you arrive or while staying here. I provide a fragrance free environment and require guests to be fragrance free as well.

*The person booking the listing must be staying at the listing. You cannot book for another person.

*I require guests to have an identifiable photo on their profile so I know the person booking is the person staying here.

* The apartment is a beautiful quiet, sunny lower grade level apartment. It has full south facing windows that look out to the lovely garden so it gets lots of natural light. It is partially below ground, so it is technically a basement, but does not feel at all like one.

*No parties, no smoking, no vaping.

*No unauthorized guests. Only the number of guests shown on the reservation are allowed to stay in the apartment. A quiet visit of a couple of friends or family is fine, just no parties. Please check in with me before inviting guests.

* Do not bring Marijuana or other drugs into the apartment.

*The ceilings are on the low side. They are 6' 9" in most of the apartment.

*Most scented laundry products are ok. But please don't book if in the past year you have used the extremely strongly scented products Gain, Febreze, Scent Beads, Unstoppables, "Long Lasting Freshness" Downy Fabric Softner. because your clothes will be permanently scented. But again the vast majority of normal scented laundry products are fine, its just the ones above that I react to. Message me if you are uncertain about the product you use and we will figure it out, because I would love to host you! Thanks!

Guest access
You will have private entry to the apartment and access to the backyard garden. The garden is shared by myself and a second airbnb guest suite in the house. However, the garden has 2 separate garden "rooms" each with a furnished patio and they are separated by shrubs so the back yard can comfortably used by two groups. I occasionally rent out the garden for small dinner parties. Airbnb guests will not have garden access on occasion.

The house is located in the desirable Pleasantdale section of West Orange which is centrally located in Essex County.

A bit of trivia: Carol King and her husband lived in this neighborhood in the 1960's and wrote the Monkee's song "Pleasant Valley Sunday" about this neighborhood.

The house is located 2 blocks away from many take out restaurants and a Kosher grocery store. A couple of the restaurants are Kosher.

There are a number of houses of worship nearby. Including several Synagogues and a Shabat House walking distance away.

There is a large, delicious selection of prepared foods at Whole foods, 1 mile away, Shop Rite 2.2 miles and Fooderie Kosher grocery store .4 mile away.

Close to many houses of worship. Walking distance to several synagogues and a Chabad Shabbat House is 2 blocks away.

There are hiking trails, with stunning views of Manhattan, in Eagle Rock
Reservation 2.3 mi, and South Mountain Reservation 3 mi. Scenic Verona Park 1.6 mi. has a 1.25 mi walking/running path around the lake and exercise circuit stations that also circle the lake."
