Private and quiet upstairs rear bedroom and shared bathroom in beautiful four bedroom four bathroom home in downtown DC. It is part of a big house experience, not a condo, which is a great at-home-feeling experience. Common areas are shared with easygoing professional roommates, and one adult dog.

The bedroom is clean with hardwood floors, a queen sized award-winning Tempurpedic American Leather Comfort Sleeper bed with egyptian cotton sheets, widescreen high definition television equipped with clear terrestrial network digital television (but not cable or DirecTV), Netflix, and new matching wood furniture. The bed is an awesome sleep. Plenty of spaces to store your things and spread out, including an armoire for hanging clothes.

The room can be as dark or as light as you desire, an optimal sleeping space. The ambient light is ample throughout the house, and the room is very well-lighted and has a window.

The shared bathroom is clean and compact with tile floors and a shower. Everything is designed for simple, solid and effective living while you stay here.

PLEASE NOTE: Tempurpedic beds can produce a warm sleep experience due to the memory foam design. Our inaugural guest reported heat discomfort. We solved the problem by installing a bed cover designed to dissipate heat. Our current guest reports a very comfortable sleep. Please factor this into your decision.

Downstairs common area is awesome with a huge great room floor-plan, large kitchen with brand new appliances. Freshen up your wardrobe with our steam setting on the washer dryer. There are desks downstairs to stretch out and work. If you wish to invite more workmates over just ask. If it is a structured work meeting, we may need to request a supplementary fee, but if its a buddy or two, please have them over as complimentary guests.

The location is superb: one block from Shaw Howard metro, ten minutes or less walk to Convention Center, Logan Circle, Bloomingdale, U Street corridor food, and music clubs (including the 9:30 Club) and plenty of nightlife. Dunkin Donuts is a block away, 7Eleven a couple in the other direction, one of the best thai places, chinese take out and middle eastern fare all within a block walk from the house.

** price includes single occupancy. There is a $15 extra per night for an additional person.

  • Brian and Chris are fantastic hosts! This was my first experience with Airbnb, and I think it will be hard to beat for anyone else. I had more chances to communicate with Brian, and he is just an amazingly nice, thoughtful, fun, smart and overall great person. The room was comfortable; Brian even installed an window air conditioner in anticipation of DC summer heat.
It was absolutely great to talk to him, and I hope I made a great friend. Chris is just as nice and fun person to know.
Highly, highly recommend staying with these guys!

  • I must say this was a great location - my first time in Washington and it was a breeze finding my way from Union Station (buses/trains) even in the late evening. Minutes from Shaw/Howard metro station, and only about 20 minutes away from any part of the downtown core, transfer times included. Chris was incredibly nice and helpful with showing me how to get around DC for my conference, and the kitchen was fully furnished for any kind of cooking I could think to do with plenty of fridge space. There's also the Chinese food place directly across the street for emergencies as well. The room itself was spacious with a double bed and very, very clean with plenty of storage space. Especially appreciated that there was a back entrance to the room, which leads to the shared upper patio/balcony as well. Overall, a very well designed house and very happy to have stayed here - would absolutely come back for another stay the next time I'm in town.

  • I stayed for 4 weeks with Chris and Bryan on a business trip. This was my first stay with airbnb and I was very happy and satisfied with the arrangements. The stay was more than comfortable. The office room was perfect for my use as it allowed me to remain productive. The bed was more than adequate and more comfortable than I thought for a fold out. I would definitely stay with Chris and Bryan again if I had another business trip in DC. Awesome experience.

  • I really had a great time during my 3-week stay at Chris' home. He is a great host and friend. You just feel part of the house from the time you arrive. The infrastructure of the house is fantastic. Everything worked extremelly well and I really enjoyed th neigborhood. I made several friends during my stay, which is very unique of the overall atmosphere and how Chris selects the right people to enjoy the house.

  • I stayed here for four months, and it was perfectly good. The bed is quite firm, and could be a bit comfier, but as I understand it I was the first long term guest to use it, and Chris has plans to improve it using some sort of mattress topper.

The house itself is great, well equipped and a very sociable, open space. As I said I was here for four months and met only interesting, friendly people.

Chris is a good host, friendly, enthusiastic and helpful.

Hi! I am a long time resident of DC, but travel a bit. Professionally I have been invoved with internet start ups in one way or another since the first internet bubble-bust. I founded a pretty popular music podcast network called IndieFeed, and most recently a service called HugeFan. The first one went smashingly good, the following one just kind of smashed. Now I am taking a new fork in the road with a new consumer product for people who have and admire beards. Like me. I developed Beardashery No. 1 beard oil, and it is sold online and in select salons like DC's Logan 14 Aveda Salon & Spa. Now I get to say things like "ask for it by name!" and "Yes I do recommend a gift for that hard-to-please bearded guy." :) I love meeting people and connecting everyone, and this space is a part of this exciting hobby :) So it's helpful to know who I am dealing with. It helps me to deliver on expectations and to assess a successful match. So, filling-out your profile plus information about your planned stay prioritizes your request above the others.
