It was our first visit to Dom Rep. and Villa Chiara was an amazing experience, with a very warm and sincere welcome from Roberta and Mrs. Luz. We watched the ocean from our veranda, and loved laying on the quiet white sand beach only steps from our door. The neighborhood is upscale with a variety of great restaurants, spas and shopping. The Sol Bar next door was a convenient place for pina coladas and fresh grilled local fare and we enjoyed dancing to the music on Sunday evening. Just a short walk to scuba, snorkelling trips, and the pirate ship--complete with a show, snorkelling, a visit with sting rays and swimming with the sharks, shopping, etc.
We loved staying here and we would be happy to stay again. The description was accurate and the view is incredible. We spent many hours reading, eating and drinking in the main outdoor space. The kitchen is functional and the place could comfortably sleep seven.
It's easy to walk to several beachside bars and restaurants and there are two small groceries nearby where you can buy beer, wine and various necessities. The staff in the building are friendly and accommodating but don't speak much English, so keep that in mind. Most of my questions were answered with gestures and via my pidgin Spanish. There is a beachside bar one building over from the apartment and a couple nights we were there they played dance music until 12:30, which was pretty loud. If I had earplugs it would have been OK (or if you plan in staying up past 12:30 anyway). It's nicer in the vicinity when you can hear the waves and the music is off. I'd give this place five stars, but for the noise from the bar, which of course can't be helped.
It's typical in the area, but navigating the maze of roads near the beach to get to the parking spot is difficult if you don't know the area, even with good instructions. We couldn't have done it without help. Plan accordingly.
One of the reasons Spring Break in Punta Cana was the best one ever! We were a group of 6 spring breakers, and
Roberta and Mrs. Luz were incredibly accommodating and helped us out with anything we needed. The villa was beautiful, clean and even had an awesome stereo system. The location was convenient because it was right on the beach but also close enough to restaurants and taxis so we could go wherever we wanted.
Thank you so much for making our trip amazing!
Great location, wonderful caretakers, safe. Gated community. The staff watched your belongings while you swam.
This space was amazing! Roberta made us feel welcome and gave us anything we needed. She answered all my prior questions swiftly. Listing was described perfectly, it is on the beach with the greatest view. It was hard to find in the beginning. Kitchen was up to par, the rooms were nice. Showers and wifi were not the greatest. The locals could get annoying and scary at times but just shoo them away and they will get the hint you don't want to be bothered, they are harmless they just want your money. Although 'Santa' did connect us with cheap activities and cheap rentals that would have costed double what i paid. The beach is gorgeous and there is a resort down the beach that you could walk into and get all inclusive with casino, club... for no cost. I highly recommend renting motorcycles they are cheap a lot of fun and a great way to see the area.
I can't say it highly enough no need to do anymore research this is the place you need to stay
Ottima accoglienza, ottima posizione, ottimo appartamento.
Roberta gave a very fast response and the unit's description was accurate. On Sunday the bar next to the apartment belches out deafening Dominican music. So be aware of this.
The view is beautiful and the apartment was clean. By Dominican standards it was fine. Just don't expect "American 5-star standards of repair" and you will be happy. Since we have lived in the D.R. for 13 years we are used to loose faucets, ovens that are difficult to light, etc.
NOTE: We've stayed at many "self-catering" apartments. However, I've never ran into one where you had to buy your own toilet paper and soap! For 300.00 a night one would think... But no biggie! Off we went to the colmado!
Overall it was a "drama free" transaction and we are content.
