A studio apartment but much more. The large high-ceilinged room contains the queen bed and full bath, small sofa, ample closet space. desk and book case. Private plant-filled patio in front has a big umbrella table - dining space or entertaining area . In the back 20 steps away is the open-air kitchen with 2 burner stove, microwave and refrigerator (and washing machine for community use). Great for a single or laid-back couple. WiFi, weekly housekeeping and change of linens.
Last but certainly not least is the location. It's half a block from the Santo Domingo Cultural center, 2 1/2 blocks from the Touristic corredor which is lined with museums, galleries, gourmet restaurants, up-scale artesan shops. 2-3 blocks away are two lovely parks and the Oaxaca Lending Library (English language) with many social and cultural activities. The property is on a quiet residential street, in the middle of things, yet secluded.
(the map below is inaccurate - when you book, you can (website hidden) the correct map. The property is downtown Oaxaca, on Constitucion St., between Juarez and Reforma.)
The apartments are 1 and 2 blocks from the principal north/south bus lines. From the airport, you'll take the limo which is under $10 usd and takes around 30 minutes to arrive.
Barbara made me feel right at home. She greeted me when I arrived with some fresh fruit! The studio was perfect for me, and the outdoor kitchen was great for making simple meals. I absolutely love the little patio outside of the room. It is a wonderful space to relax and read. The neighbors are fabulous! The location is ideal. You are a few steps away from Santo Domingo and the Alcala.

Barbara was a great host - accommodating with our arrival time and very thorough in her walk-through of the apartment. It's a great little place and ideal for exploring the city centre. Lovely neighbours to boot.
Barbara is a gracious host and went out of her way to be helpful. The studio is centrally located, in a nice neighborhood. Being a studio, the apartment is of course best for one person or a couple. I hope to visit Oaxaca again soon, and would look forward to staying here.
Barbara's place was great, as was she.
Superbly located in a beautiful street, close to everything we needed. So close to everything meant we could return easily during the day to drop of shopping or have a siesta. The studio apartment had good wifi, a washing machine, and beautiful outdoor patio/kitchen.
Barbara was available for anything we needed and also supplied us with a list of good local restaurants and a map of things in the area.
We had an awesome week in Oaxaca, and this apartment was the perfect place to base ourselves from!
Amazing! Barbara was very kind and helpful, I loved the studio and the outdoor kitchen. Missing this apartment and Oaxaca!

35 years an ex-pat, I love living in my adoptive city and sharing it with others. I retired from teaching ESL at the beginning of the century, and family, ceramics, Bridge and tending our rental properties all keep me busy. I enjoy good literature, container gardening (especially orchids), and messing around on the computer. I love animals, especially cats and boxers ( the canine kind).
My goal as a landlady, is to be accommodating with my guests' special requests, to answer questions and to find information if I don't have it at hand. I'm fluent in English and Spanish.
