Located above Tacoma's beautiful Commencement Bay, you are near famed-and-tasty restaurants that flank the inlet, most within walking distance. Explore the Point Ruston's new Waterwalk waterfront pathway; stop at your favorite restaurant for lunch or dinner at Lobster Shop, C.I. Shenanigans, The Ram, Duke’s Chowder House and Katie Downs, just to name a few. Migrate to Starbucks in Old Town Tacoma and satisfy that caffeine craving - only a mile from the Loft. Also enjoy a meal at The Spar Tavern, Tacoma’s oldest saloon - the Spar Chips are the best!
Enjoy watching from your window the activities of the Bay and the changing seasons and colors. Wednesday nights in spring and summer feature the sailing club races. Throughout the year, Eagles soar around the bay often landing upon their favorite jutting branch just outside the Loft. Nestled among the backdrop of a towering tree-line, you will feel secluded from the hustle and bustle of daily noise, yet have easy access to the freeway, nearby shops and grocery stores.

Be lured by the local attractions and visit Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, take a ferry to Vashon Island for the day, explore the LeMay Car Museum (the largest collection in America). Partake of the Proctor’s Saturday Farmers Market that runs April through November, with a Winter Season that is open 1-day a month from January through March.
The Loft is fully equipped with every day necessities, including a coffee maker, iron with ironing board and hair dryer.

Interaction with Guests
We live on the property, the Loft is located above our detached garage; it is a private dwelling with it's own entrance. We are happy to personally welcome you when schedules permit; however, we respect your privacy and oftentimes we don't get to meet our guests.
There is no public transit within 2-miles of the property.
1. Smoking is NOT allowed in the Loft. Smoking is permitted outside, beside the driveway; an ash tray is provided.
2. People other than those in the Guest party set forth above may not stay overnight in the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.
3. The Homeowners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not accountable for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to the property.
4. Keep the property and all furnishings in good order.
5. Only use appliances for their intended purpose. Please notify Owner immediately of any faulty operations of appliances, plumbing, etc. Please feel free to ask for assistance should you have any questions or concerns; we're happy to help!
6. Pets are NOT allowed.
7. Parking: Guest will have use of driveway beside the Loft.
8. Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not part of the rental rate. We do not permit towels or linens to be removed from the property. Owner will be responsible for cleaning of linens and towels.
9. Water and Sewer: DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime.
10. At check out please leave the Loft in same condition as when you arrived. Dishes cleaned and put away; keys should be left on the counter. PLEASE REMEMBER TO TURN OFF THE HEATERS BEFORE YOUR DEPARTURE.

My husband and I really enjoyed our time as guests at Bruce & Amy's Loft. Bruce and Amy were very accommodating and made certain that our stay was comfortable. The amount of communication they maintained with me from the moment of booking through our day of arrival was impeccable. The Loft was even better than the pictures displayed, and the view was marvelous! We will definitely stay at the Loft when visiting Tacoma in the future. It was the perfect location and the owners were awesome. Thanks Bruce and Amy for allowing us to be guests at your home. We had a wonderful time.
The Loft is a beautiful place to stay. Amy and Bruce were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The Loft is very spacious, beautifully decorated, with stunning views from its windows. I cannot think of anything that would improve it! A large kitchen, great shower and bath, really comfortable bed, a table to write at - the Loft is just perfect! The surrounding area is lovely, with really nice walks along the waterfront. I felt very safe and peaceful staying here. I highly recommend Amy and Bruce as hosts and the Loft as somewhere to stay if visiting Seattle/Tacoma.
Amy and Bruce were wonderful hosts, very helpful in making my stay as comfortable as possible. The loft's views are wonderful and I loved hearing the trains go by, they were not obtrusive at all. The loft is beautifully outfitted with lots of space while feeling very cozy. I would definitely stay here again.
The loft is awesome!! Wake up with water views every morning. Even though you are in the city, it does not feel that way. Very private location. The loft is an excellent choice for a place to stay in Tacoma. I'm pretty sure there is a bald eagle in the area.
The above garage cottage was superb! It was an open floor plan w- every amenity you would need whether long term or short stay. The colts chosen for the cottage are right and brilliant. The loft space looks as if a professional decorator orchestrated it from
beginning to end.
The views were a reminder of the unique maritime beauty of the Northwest. The railroad was directly below but didn't obstruct the view nor was a hinderance as far as the noise as there is no crossing near. It was quite, lovely and right off the main road that leads to downtown and the museums. There is also a wonderful walking path down from the cottage that goes along the waterfront with restaurants and authentic Far East pagodas. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to have privacy and still be near to the city life.
We had a great stay here! The loft is very clean and nicely decorated, just like the photos show. It is above the garage of the owner's adjacent house so you may hear the garage doors open/close and see them coming and going occasionally. You can also hear and see the train, which we thought was fun and did not bother us. The location worked out perfectly for our exploration of Tacoma. The waterfront and the aquarium/zoo were highlights. We'd definitely go back!
I would highly recommend staying at this loft if visiting Tacoma. The location was perfect; close to everything downtown and to the highway, but so quiet and peaceful that we slept like rocks every night. I will mention the train only because other posters did - we barely heard it and probably only noticed it because I had read the reviews. It was barely a rumble!
The space is beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. We couldn't beat the price for hotels in the area with fewer perks (full kitchen, etc). There was generous parking and plenty of privacy. We didn't have the opportunity to run into Bruce or Amy, but they were responsive and helpful with directions and parking; usually reaching out to offer information before I even thought to ask.
We would definitely recommend this space, and will likely be staying again when we come back to visit family & friends in the area.
