  • This was our first stay with a airbnb property. We were not disappointed. Malvern was a wonderful host. The two bedroom apartment was within walking distance to restaurants and local hangouts. It's half a block away from St Charles and New Orlean's wonderful public transportation. Malvern stocked the fridge with beer, wine, English muffins, fresh fruit, and coffee. The kitchen has everything you would need to cook. (but you're in New Orleans, why would you?) Toiletries were provided, an iron and board. Even though we didn't use them, there were all kinds of DVDs to watch on a great closed in porch/living room. Malvern had left a guide he wrote of where to ear, drink, and how to get around. We had breakfast at the Please U cafe across the street on St Charles per his recommendation. I thought it was so much better than Camellia's Grill. All in all, if it is available, we would love to stay at this property again.

  • Malvern is a great host, he makes sure you have evrything you need. The place is perfect, lots of Orleans charm, and all the amenities that you need. The location is prime, close to the trolley, minutes from the quarter, bars and great food all around. We would love to stay here again.

  • Malvern and his apartment were great! Convenient to so many other parts of the city and plenty to do just a few steps away. The apartment itself is beautiful and Malvern was a pleasure to rent from. He made everything really easy and even had some local beers for us in the fridge. Felt right at home.

  • The four of us had a fantastic stay at Malvern's place in New Orleans. The house is full of character and it was a very comfortable spot to come home to after a day of exploring the city. Malvern went out of his way to greet us, give us suggestions when we asked him, and overall made sure we were enjoying ourselves during our stay. We cooked multiple meals in the very modern kitchen, which was stocked with all the cookware we needed to take an occasional break from the rich southern fare :) The sun porch is a great place to unwind. There was an off-street parking spot for our rental car, and plenty of restaurants, shops, and streetcar stops within walking distance. If you are looking for a fun and authentic New Orleans lodging experience, look no further! Thank you Malvern!

  • We were treated very well by Malvern. The apartment was clean and stocked with all we needed. I enjoyed meeting James and Laura. We would go back again and hope to as soon as we can.
I am now a Saints fan...

  • Malvern Burnett is a fine southern gentleman—in the best of all possible meanings of that phrase. Three of us stayed for five weeks in Nov-Dec 2013 at Malvern’s upstairs two-bedroom apartment with its sunroom, kitchen, spacious bathroom--and fascinating pieces of art by local artists throughout the apartment--and lots of plants. Malvern’s busy law office is on the first floor, so it was not infrequently that we got to see Malvern as we came and went from this two-story 19th-century building that is in remarkably good shape. Each encounter with Malvern was a pleasure. He was always quick to respond to our emails prior to our arrival, and to our needs once we were there. We highly recommend Malvern as a landlord and his apartment as a perfectly located place to stay while in New Orleans. The St. Charles streetcar is within sight of the apartment and runs regularly—and is a fun way to travel about the city. Can’t say enough positives about Malvern, his apartment and the lower Garden District neighborhood. Certainly if we go back to New Orleans for a visit in the future, this is where we hope to stay.

I am a native New Orleanian who has travelled extensively, lived abroad and returned home to raise a family. I have an established immigration law practice with law offices in New Orleans and Ocean Springs, Mississippi.I speak Spanish fluently and struggle with French. I live, breathe and eat all things New Orleans and am proud to call it home. I welcome all well-heeled non-smoking visitors to my apartment located above my law office which I renovated and lived in for 4 years following the total destruction of my beach home by Hurricane Katrina. I am passionate about New Orleans food and music and can offer great suggestions to make your New Orleans trip a memorable one.
