I am renting my home in Madrid while on a 6 week travel to Malaysia. I won't be able to meet you but a friend will, and in any case, don't hesitate to contact me should you have any queries.
THE APARTMENT - AMENITIES
The apartment is located in the fifth and last floor (WITH ELEVATOR so no worries for the walk up) of a classical building in the neighbourhood of Pacífico. It is very bright, sunny and silent, so perfect for your night sleep after a whole day visiting Madrid.
* 1 Bedroom with a double bed and a big closet
* 1 Bedroom with 2 individual beds, a desk and shelves
* A super big kitchen fully equipped with anything you need to cook and eat, including also oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. There is no drier but you there are lines available outside, as well as a clothes horse in case of bad weather. The kitchen includes a small corner for your breakfast or to chill out while someone else cooks.
* A living room with dining table for 4, sofa, TV and DVD.
* A bathroom with shower.
Of couse, FRESH LINEN is provided, as well as iron, hairdrier, etc. Also, if you think there is something missing, I'll be happy to provide it to you.
Pacifico is a safe and quite neighbourhood where you'll be among local town people. On the same street of the apartment you'll find groceries stores, a supermarket, a municipal market and a bakery. On the other side of Avenida Ciudad de Barcelona you'll find a nice square with yummie tapas bars which are very good money for value and if you like practising sports, also in this square you'll find a municipal sports centre (including swimming pool) where day entries are available for less than 5 euro.
In front of my building, every first weekend of the month a vintage market (see pictures) takes place in the old premises of the municipal transportation company (one of the few examples of modernist architecture in Madrid).
The location of the apartment is perfect to visit Madrid. Two minutes away from my building there is a metro stop (Pacifico) with two lines:
* Line 1 will take you to Atocha (if you get to Madrid by train or if you get the bus or the train from the airport) in 5 minutes, to Sol/Plaza Mayor in 10 minutes or 13 minutes if you're heading to Malasaña/Chueca
* Line 6 is perfect for your connections with the airport (changing lines in Nuevos Ministerios), with the 2 bus stations (Méndez Álvarez and Avenida de América, both with stops on line 6 as well) or if you want to visit the cultural hub of Matadero, in Legazpi.
By the metro stop, there are also buses that follow the route of the main museums (Reina Sofia, Caixaforum, Thyssen Bornemisza and Prado).
For sure, you won't have problems to move around from here.
Also, some walking distances:
Atocha: 15 minutes
Lavapiés/Reina Sofia: 20 minutes:
Retiro Park: 10 minutes
I am very happy in this apartment and I'd be more than happy to help you in having a wonderful stay in Madrid.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Smoking and parties are not allowed as well as any loud noise after 11pm or at any time of the day on the common areas of the building: respect for neighbours is a must.
Please pay attention to your luggage to avoid marks on the walls and treat the apartment with the same care as if it'd be yours.
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Vanessa's apartment was wonderful! We could not have asked for a better place to stay during our one month visit to Madrid. It was clean, spacious and we had everything we needed. The neighborhood was quiet with all the necessary conveniences--supermarkets, pharmacies, fruit/vegetable stands, restaurants. It was near two subway lines which was great!
Vanessa is a great host. Even though we didn't meet her, she was available and attentive to our needs during our stay. We hope to return!
The apartment was clean, bright and quiet. We didn't meet Val, but her friend met us when we arrived and showed us around. It's really close to the metro, little markets and restaurants. Everything you need is close by. We recommend staying there!
I spent four nights at Val´s apartment with my girlfriend and we felt really comfortable from the word go. The apartment offers all mod cons and is central, but also a bit off the beaten track so that you can get enough rest. Val was commited and helpful. I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I am a womain in her mid thirties that still feels very, very young. I've been an independent traveller for years, eagering to learn from places and people. Me and my backpack (my longest relationship, we've been together for 17 years already and although it's a bit torn already, I can't abandon it). I also love reading, one of the authors I've been reading more lately is Stefan Zweig, I could say he is one of my favourites. I like trying to make the outmost of my life, this is why I abbandonned my confort zone of my career as a lawyer to become an actress and theatre producer. I love life and love, music, dancing, the sun, the sea, walking under the rain without an umbrella and the snow. I like surprises. I love getting lost and finding my way out, discovering things for the first time and l learning new things everyday.
I used to rent a spare room in my apartment in Madrid, and I enjoyed having people with me and as a host I try to make people feel at home when they stay with me. It was fantastic to get the opportunity to meet people that otherwise I would have never met. This is not the case of my apartment in Barcelona, since I rent it entirely while I'm not there. This means that probably we won't meet, but you'll be greeted by my mother, who is fantastic and for sure will give you a warm welcome (in Spanish).
I think life is so perfect if we watch it with the right look. I couldn't live not feeling happy when I wake up every morning.
Hugs from Spain!
