Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as our guests need us to be. We love spending time with our guests but respect their privacy. We're always available to our guests.
Playa Fortuna is a humble fisherman's village of the coast in Luquillo where you can walk around safely at any time and enjoy talking to helpful neighbors and local vendors.
To best enjoy the island, we recommend renting a car but we do have a Taxi driver for your convenience.
Other Things to Note
We're an eco-friendly establishment working hard everyday to have our business running the healthiest way possible for the planet.
Be clean, respectful to others on property. Common sense is always a good practice. No jumping, yelling running indoors or too loud music. No smoking on premises allowed. Please follow common swimming pool rules for everyone's enjoyment. When in doubt, ask. We live next door and are here to assist you and make your stay a memorable one. There is no central air. We have provide air conditioning in the bedrooms for our guests comfort at bedtime. We strongly encourage our guests to use them for that purpose. High energy costs in the Island does not allow us the luxury of central air. We are an Eco friendly property.
This place was very nice. I'm upset we only booked to stay one night. It has gated entry, so only guests can get in. You can walk to the beach and there is a river that empties into the ocean that you can walk to. It was very cool. There was a nice view of the rainforest from the river too. The pool was very relaxing. If we had more time, we would have looked more into the treehouse massages. There are 2 dogs on the property that were super friendly. We would definitely look into staying here again for our next trip to Puerto Rico.
We had a wonderful few days here. There are two beautiful beaches within walking distance and my partner and I enjoyed the tree-house massages. Being so close to El Yunque was a huge plus. The apartment itself is comfortable and the yard is lovely and relaxing. We enjoyed meeting Socorro and Jose, their two dogs, as well as the other guests who were staying next door.
I stayed at Socorro's apartments with a friend at the end of March 2015 for 6 days. The apartment was as described, basic and clean with everything we needed and were looking for. The facilities were much less basic - pool, jacuzzi, spa treehouse, fruited trees - really pretty wonderful. The apartment was stocked with towels, and Socorro and her husband were incredibly nice. We wanted to cook local seafood, so on 2 separate occasions they connected us to a local fisherman and a neighbor selling fresh crab meat.
The location couldn't be more perfect.; 5 minute drive from a local produce store, right off the highway, 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minute walk to a gorgeous river bank. El Yunque is a 15 minute drive and the Biobay is a 30 minute drive.
We had a perfect vacation, in large part due to these accommodations.
This was a fanastic place to stay. the apartment was very pretty , clean and spacious. The pool and hot tub were great. Socorro was extremely friendly and welcoming. And we had one of her fantastic tree house massages!
It was a good location, only a short walk from the Luquillo kiosks. We stayed for one night after vieques and before el yunque, and it was perfect for our needs. Would thoroughly recommend.
Had a nice stay here - the neighborhood is very simple - not much to see on the streets, but is close to the river and the beach. The apartment was spotless and cozy, and felt very secure with the locked gate on the property. All in all, a nice stay!
This was a great place to stay - close to beach and rain forest. Our host was very welcoming and helpful. we could sit out on the front porch and enjoy the coqui songs. Neighborhood was nice too and the spot where the river meets the ocean is fantastic.

Hi, I'm Cedric, you can call me Ced.
I'm a percussionist, drummer and music teacher. I'm an artisan whenever I get my hands on some driftwood or beads and string, and a college student. Talking about myself is not my best quality so hopefully we'll just meet in person. I love all types of arts, nature, animals and meeting new people. I really like learning about other cultures, their music and ways of life. I know my way around the island VERY well and I'll be more than happy to help in any way I can! Adventures and other fun outdoors activities are something I try to enjoy often so feel free to ask, "What's there to do around here?" and I'll draw you a map to the Rainforest and on the way you can stop at the zip lining park or go horse back riding at the beach.
If I'm out at college during your stay my mom, Socorro, will be here to welcome you and assist you in anyway she can. We live in the house next door.
Socorro is a hard working wife, mother of two young men, massage therapist , nature lover, animal lover. Sixteen years in the Hotel Industry allowed her to dream about a Lodging place where guests can enjoy more than a roof and good food, but also experience our warm, rich, fun culture.
We enjoy long walks on the beach, kayaking and lite cooking (rather eat out any day). We live on premises, so we are available to our guests 24/7. We enjoy bike riding and the movies. YES, we have our outside movie projector ready for any given evening. Popcorn too. We are located a block away from the beach, two blocks away from the Mameyes River (great Kayaking area) and 25 minutes away from one of the 3 Bio-luminescent bays of the Island (only five known in the world). We are 5 minutes away from a Ranch that offers Horseback riding, Go Karts and Fourtracks rentals. Oh yes; we always have coconut water!!!
