We have stayed at Francesco's flat in the beginning of April - a family of two first time in Rome.
We absolutely loved it! We have rented flats all over Europe and this is the best stay that we have had.
Excellent location, nicest house and street.
Since Francesco's family lives in the same house, we had a chance to meet his beautiful wife and mother (they live on 1st and 2nd floors of the house). Everyone was so nice and helpful that we simply melted. And a gift of a bottle of wine was the cherry on top of the cake.
If you are coming to Rome, come here, enjoy the city with these hosts as much as we did.
We absolutely enjoyed our trip to Rome. The apartment was great. We could cook our own meals or go out, Francesco supplied us with loads of information. It was so good to have some space and not to be confined to a small room. I even got a lite suburn on the rooftop terrace. Very freindly hosts, we had a very nice dinner and the oldest son could practice his German and we could pick up some Italian. Clean, near the subway, busstops and markets just around the corner. Walking distance to the Vatican.
What more did we want?
Well, maybe some a little less crazy drivers on the streets of Rome, but that is just the way this city moves.
If the fridge is set to "4" everything inside will freeze, salad and all. Set it to "2" and all is ok. We hope to come again.
I had a great time staying at their place! The flat had everything you could ask for and Francesco and his family were extremely helpful and nice! Would highly recommend it!
Francesco is a perfect host and his apartment is awesome. We loved the roof terrace as well as many restaurants nearby ( the gelato is the best in Rome ). Plus the location is really convenient to walk to all Rome's attractions.
The reservation was canceled 28 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I stayed in Rome during 5 weeks last July and August. Francesco's apartment was literally perfect: I had everything I could ever wish for. I loved the fact I could wash my clothes, I loved having an A/C and it was great sitting on the roof terrace at night. Francesco provided me a lot of information beforehand, like nice places to eat, and great places to shop. A supermarket is only five minutes away by foot, and the apartment is really close to Piazza del Popolo, Castel Sant'Angelo and the Vatican. I walked to school (next to Piazza Navona) everyday and it took me 20 minutes. Overall, the location is perfect. Via dei Gracchi (email hidden)ly street, with great restaurants, bars and facilities. I love the Prati neighborhood!
Francesco is an amazing host. Even while he and his family were on a holiday, the contact through e-mail was still great. What a service! My cousins came over for a couple of days, which wasn't a problem at all. My apartment was cleaned whenever I wanted it to be (including new towels and sheets), and the overall information and services provided were fantastic. This place didn't feel like a hotel. It was better: it really felt like home.
The apartment was really the best I could wish for. I've visited some other apartments where other people stayed, and I was glad I could return to "my own" everyday. It's cosy and fun. It was again perfect for me being solo. However, going here with a bigger group of 4 of 5 is also very possible! My visiting family also loved this place, and I'm sure they'll try to book it for their next stay in Rome, and so will I.
I really had the time of my life. I'm only gone for less than 24 hours by now, and I miss it already.
Francesco, thanks again! :) Hopefully there'll be a next time!
If you want to spend an amazing time in Rome then you should rent this apartment! I stayed in Francesco's penthouse for the entire month of June with a friend of mine this summer. We were taking a class at the nearby Temple Rome campus.
This apartment is immaculate, it has everything you need, and a rooftop terrace topping it all off. When we originally looked at this place we really liked how close it was to the metro stop and the bus. However this apartment is so close to so much that we hardly ever used it unless we were heading to termini or vialle auralius to take a day trip outside of rome! Within and 10 to 30 minute walk from the apartment we could go to the Vatican, Piazza dei Popolo, Spanish steps, piazza navona, villa borgese, campo di fiori, trionfale market, torre argentina, trevi fountain, the pantheon, and more. I found the best way to explore Rome was on foot! Every corner you turn there is something unexpected, amazing, or delicious!
The neighborhood as well as the apartment was pleasant, beautiful and peaceful! Francesco and his family were the greatest hosts! We were given clean linens and towels each week. Before we arrived Francesco had provided us with lists of directions from the airport, directions to local destinations, as well as a list of great local eateries.
Another huge plus was that some of the best gelato we had, and we had a lot, was right across the street! Gelateria dei Gracchi! They had some amazing, and unique flavors! You don't have to take my word for it, if you just walk by this place you'll see it is something worth stopping for as there are always swarms of people inside and outside of it. We also did much of our shopping nearby at the Trionfale Market which was about 3/4 mile away! If you are in Rome long enough to grocery shop and make some of your own meals then you have to check this market out! It is unbelievable!
I cannot express how fortunate we feel to have found such a wonderful accommodation and host for our time in Rome! Don't pass this one up. I know when I return to Rome this is where I want to stay!
Very nice host. Responds quickly to any query we had. Great location to explore Rome! Very safe.
Francesco and his familly were so warm and accommodating to us. Prior to our arrival, Francesco was very responsive and he even sent a list of local eateries along with his comments, as well as clear bus shuttle directions from the airport. The apartment location was perfect, steps from a metro and a short 12-minute walk to the Vatican but still set on a quiet street. We loved the rooftop deck and the bathrobes were a nice touch. Francesco also had a baby crib set up and a box of his kids' old toys waiting for our 1-year old, as well as a jar of Nescafé which was well appreciated by this jet-lagged guest. The collection of movies for young and old was also very handy - especially Sesame Street! Thank you Francesco. We hope to return someday!
