We were very happy with the cottage, it was situated in a lovely rural setting. Elspeth met us on arrival and helped us settle in. Leaving us with bread, milk and butter etc was a nice touch.
All in all I would recommend Elspeth and the cottage as a delightful place to base yourself while exploring Ireland, but you will need your own transport, and some of the roads are quite narrow, so don't be in a hurry.
We had a lovely time At Elspeth's cottage. It is exactly as described and in a great spot to explore the surrounding environs. I highly recommend it :-)
What a wonderful getaway in such quiet, peaceful surroundings! The cottage was just as described. Very quaint, comfortable - and we were welcomed with fresh scones, home made butter, milk and orange juice.
Thank goodness for the directions before we arrived. Elspeth"s (and Kathleen's) contact before and during our stay was very helpful and appreciated. If you are planning to stay in the Kilkenny area and you have your own transport, this cottage is the place to stay!
- The cottage is lovely, with everything you need. The surroundings are stunning, with a beautiful garden and a pond. We were nicely welcomed by a friend of Elspeth, for Elspeth was in holidays while we stayed there.
Elspeth answered any queries we had very quickly before we made the reservations. The house was cosy, very clean and very well equiped, a real home from home. Beds very comfortable. Welcoming home made bread and jam delicious. Just a tip on directions, look out for the big red barn on main road for the turning for road to Brandon cottage.
This is THE BEST place to stay if you're in Ireland! The house was perfect and very spacious. The hosts, Gerard and Elspeth were so kind and welcoming. They made you feel you were a pert of the family. There was homemade bread and fresh eggs for us when we arrived! You will love this place! I highly recommend it!
Elspeth and Gerard were wonderful hosts, (thanks for the delicious homemade bread and jam amongst other things).
The cottage was cute and comfy even for a family of 6!! The only thing I would say is the stairs are a little tricky for young children, but that's to be expected with a cute house of such age and character. Definitely recommend this place for a home away from home!!
