About this listing
My fav hood and place I've lived in since moving to Austin in '06!
Not a stunner from the outside but comfy cozy it most certainly is -- my living room is decked out for major relaxation, huge yard with plenty of space to lay around or have a fire, car port for parking, washer/dryer, and lots more.
Close to plenty of bus lines. If you're into biking, it's a great ride downtown. Down the street from neighborhood watering holes, great food, a video store, vintage stores, and 24 hour coffee.
Welcome to Austin and to my humble abode!
A simple spot with a minimalist, tidy vibe will hopefully make you feel right at home.
I have 2 bedrooms but am currently repainting the walls and working on the floor on 1 so didn't provide any pics of that room. I'll add them to the listing once I finish and know what the heck I'm doing with that space.
Kitchen has everything you need -- except for coffee. I don't drink coffee. But across the street is a 24 hour stop to get your fix (and a late night slice of East Side Pies if you get a craving). Stove, oven, fridge all fully functional with plenty of room for your snacks and leftovers.
This year I decided I wanted to deck out my living room and I'm proud to say that's already been accomplished! Enjoy the 40 inch TV with an Amazon Fire Stick, surround sound for all your movie/music listening needs, and a supa comfy couch with a chaise. Sleep on the couch or pull out the bed if you're feelin' fancy.
Bedroom is just my style: minimal. Clean sheets on a comfy twin bed. Not much to fuss over -- just a great place to get your zzzz's and relax the night away.
Bathroom is fully functional too and will handle all the business a bathroom normally does. I'll have clean towels and hygiene products ready to go for ya.
Great, huge back yard! There's some furniture for relaxing and if you're feeling it, a space for a fire.
I have a neighbor in the back who shares the washer/dryer, carport, and backyard. He's pretty much the coolest so introduce yourself and ask him questions if you want!
Interaction with guests
I'll be in Australia June 1st - 8th but will field questions or concerns via email in between seeing the sights.
North Loop for life! Def my fav hood since moving to Austin in '06. I've been in this spot for 4.5 years and it just keeps getting better and better.
Centrally located near all kinds of good stuff (bars, restaurants, drug stores, coffee, vintage stores, HEB), easy to get downtown by bus, bike, or ride share (about 20 minutes by bus and bike), and really just a sweet spot. You'll find everything you need within a mile or two.
Park in the carport and/or driveway while you're here -- it can easily accommodate 2 vehicles if need be.
A 3 minute walk up the street heading east for the #7 and a 10 minute walk west to catch the #1 or the rapid -- all of which head downtown and will have you there in about 20 minutes.
Personally I've been getting around by bike only the whole time I've lived in this hood and have never had a problem. If you're up for it, I highly recommend biking to get around Austin. It's a great way to get to know the city!
No smoking inside.
No parties -- this is a space for those looking for a retreat post-SXSWing.

5 things I can't live without:
2) my bicycle
3) warm weather
5) Downton Abbey
My fav travel destinations include but are not limited to...
I don't watch a lot of movies lately. T.V. shows are more my jam these days. Right now I'm into Bob's Burgers, Downton Abbey, Broad City, Mozart In The Jungle, Master of None and King of The Hill.
I love sandwiches. Usually any kind but a classic would have good meat, good cheese, some mayo and an avocado style of some kind. I also love curry.
As a guest I'm respectful, private, and chill. I like to get out about town but always love a clean place where I can relax and get a nap in if I need to recharge. I like to be close to some of the town or city's action as well.
Life Motto: Freedom.
