The lodge was a perfect base for our needs, we were a group of 6 staying for a wedding. The lodge is on the edge of Keswick only a ten minute walk into the town. The house itself was warm and dry, very comfortable. There was a well equipped kitchen and large table that sat 10. The living room area was very comfortable with cable TV although we didn't use it much. The beds and linen were very comfortable, the place was very clean. The decor is a little dated but with the Lakes on your doorstep who cares?! This place is amazing value for the space and facilities on offer.
Just what was wanted for a winter weekend stay near Keswick for me and my 3 adult sons. Convenient for the town, the lake and a walk up Skiddaw on a sunny day with snow on the tops, followed by a good meal in a welcoming pub. The Lodge was warm and the beds comfortable. We would definitely go again.
Great stay and everyone was very welcoming. Lovely house for 10 of us. Would stay here again.
As described the lodge is perfect for upto 10 guests, plenty of room, property was clean throughout and had everything you need. Would 100% recommend and will be booking up again.
Gillian provided a detailed description of the property and full contact details. It was exactly as described and it was perfect accommodation for our group. The welcome cookies were delicious and the house was very warm and inviting when we arrived.
We had a very comfortable stay. The house is in a great location and was clean spacious and comfortable. It was ideal for a group and we hope to be able to book the same property again.
We had a great welcome at Castlerigg, Gillian was on hand for all our initial queries. The house is as billed with lots of room and a large Kitchen and living area open to each other. We had 10 in our party and there was enough room for all. Accommodation is very functional so if you are looking for luxury accommodation this may not be for you. It is also an older building in the often wet lake district so has some of the damp spots that go along with that but nothing serious and we applied air freshener which sorted it quickly (this was not a sufficient problem for us to even mention it to Gillian). The property did suit our parties needs very well.
