Welcome to Kyoto!
My cozy private apartment is located in the center of Kyoto and very convenient. It is only 4 minutes walk to two train stations, Omiya (Hankyu Kyoto line) and Shijo Omiya station. It is only 2 stops from Omiya station to Kawaramachi where you can easily walk to Gion & Higashiyama area to see old Kyoto in the eastern district. The train also takes you straight to Osaka (Umeda station). Near my apartment, there are also frequent buses available and they are going to the most of popular places in Kyoto.
Both Nijo Castle (World Heritage listed) and Nishiki food market (the best spot to find a Kyoto delicacy) are within walking distance and about 20 minutes on foot. Arashiyama, historical western district of Kyoto, is easy access by Kyoto Keifuku Tram Line, 4 minutes on foot. There are many must visit places in Kyoto but Arashiyama is my favorite place. I personally recommend spending a good full day there. For example, World Heritage listed Tenryuji temple has a really lovely Japanese garden and an amazing dragon painting. The famous bamboo forest and Okochi Sanso Villa with tea tasting experience cannot also be missed. There are a plenty of little cafe, shops and restaurants and you may find your own hidden places. If you prefer to travel by bike, there is a rental cycle nearby with good value.
So the location is perfect!
With my love of Kyoto knowing many hidden places, it is too hard to tell you everything now. Please drop me a line with your interest.
My apartment is small, about 15 square meters but it is a standard Japanese studio room size and has almost everything you need, such as small kitchenette with cookware, plates, bowls and cups, kettle, microwave-oven, small fridge and hair dryer. Two folding beds with futon, linen and towels are also provided. Please note that the bathroom is small for Western standard but shampoo, conditioner and body soap are provided. Wifi is available. Coin laundry (washer and dryer) is in the apartment building.
Our neighborhood is quiet and safe. There is a variety of restaurants nearby. I'd love to recommend nice and reasonable Izakaya, Ramen (soup noodle), Yakitori (grilled skewed chicken), Bento (boxed lunch/dinner), other style of Japanese restaurants, Chinese, Korean BBQ restaurants and much more. If you wish, I'm happy to book a table for you :-) There are 7/11s, Fresco grocery shop, liquor shop, fast food shops, book store and post office in walking distance.
Hope you have comfortable stay at my apartment!

Very cozy little apartment. Clean, tidy and handy location to Omiya station.
Great instructions and Hana was very helpful and responsive to my questions.
Note for large people - shower/bathroom is very small. I'm 6ft 4inch and struggled with the shower space.
This apartment is about 15 minutes from Kyoto station (one-time transfer) by subway/train, though is very space constrained and basic, is a nice pad to return at the end of the day in Kyoto. The apartment is located three blocks away from Shijo-Kawaramachi, Nishiki market - so it really is “central”. The fridge also stocks some basic ingredients for cooking (oil, butter, ketchup etc). I was able to make breakfast every day. Having lived in Seoul for a while and been to Japan previously, I was taken aback how small the bathroom is, but love how bathroom in Japan has bath tub, regardless of the size. Take note if you have heavy baggage, the building has no escalator – good thing the room is on second floor! As a host, Hana is very prompt and accommodating. She allowed me a late check-out, and recommended me dining spots upon my personal request, which I greatly appreciate. 4 days before my check in, she informed me about water cut out due to maintenance. Though I wish to be alerted before booking, it would not affect my decision. Overall, if you’re looking for a no-frills temporary “home” in Kyoto, I recommend Hana’s apartment highly.
My friend and I stayed at this studio for 2 nights, it is rather small (with probably the tiniest bathroom ever!) but really conveniently located, and in a quiet little street. There are combinis, restaurants and bus stops only minutes away. The studio itself is nice and clean, with 2 single foldable beds and is perfect for people like us who are out visiting Kyoto all day.
Overall a nice experience.
This apartment is well located and access to most tourist attractions is pretty straight forward. We made good use of the bus system (thanks to goggle maps journey planner) and wish we had of known about the 500yen bus pass earlier. Look into it if you're planning on doing a bit of bus travel.
Whilst this apartment met our needs for our 5 nights in Kyoto, the beds felt a little hard towards the end of the stay. The bathroom is indeed a small one and showering can be clumsy if you're as tall as I am (6ft). There's not much room in the apartment other than space for the beds. This didn't really bother us as we were out and about til late every day.
Overall, a nice little place to stay. It was in a really quiet building in a really quiet little street.
Very quiet, good location. Would recommend!
Hi, Hana's apartment is in a great location to see the sites of Kyoto, it's just around the corner from 2 train stations (easy to get to Arashiyama and Osaka) and a main bus route. It's clean and well equipped, Rob
This is the perfect room to stay in Kyoto if you want to see the sights. It is small but no smaller than any hotel room. It's the perfect starting point for your Kyoto adventures.
Hana is a great host quick to reply to all your questions.
Nice location! Bus stops, subway stations, and many restaurants, are all nearby in 3 to 5 minutes. I also enjoy staying in the quiet and comfortable room.
Hana's apartment is very conveniently located. Although bit small, it fits my girlfriend and I perfectly. It is only 5 min walk from the train station with a 7-11 and other shops close by. The area is at the heart of Kyoto, making it easily accessible to all the major attractions in Kyoto. Hana is very friendly and replies very quick with any concerns and questions, as well as recommendations of nearby restaurants. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a place to stay at in Kyoto. And we would definitely look up Hana's apartment next time we plan a trip to Kyoto.
Hana's apartment is located at the centre of Kyoto, it's easier for those who wishes to visit Arashiyama, as there's a dedicated tram line from Shijo-Omiya to Arashiyama. It's just within 5-min walking distance from Hana's apartment to Omiya station (Hankyu line), the local bus stops, as well as the bus terminal that bound for other parts in Japan. The size of the apartment is the smallest apartment I've ever encountered, but it's acceptable as there were only me and my friend stayed in. I definitely will book this apartment again if I ever visit Kyoto again in near future! Hana is so helpful and friendly, and thanks for providing such clear instructions/directions to her apartment. I miss JAPAN already! <3
