Bejuco is a large, bright, air-conditioned room with patio, private bathroom, independent entrance only two blocks from Playa La Ropa. Guests share the front terrace with rocking chairs, hammock, and small dipping pool and have access to the main house kitchen next door for light food preparation. The room has twin beds that can be joined as one king, its own fridge, and coffeepot. It is suitable for one or two guests.

The space
This large furnished room has a full bath with shower and a small patio right out front surrounded by flowers and tropical vegetation. It is equipped with two single beds that can be easily joined to make one king, a table and chairs, fridge, microwave, and ample closet space. Basic weekly housekeeping and change of linens are included.

This private room is part of the main house, accessible off a shared wide, front terrace or through sliding glass doors from its own patio. The terrace is equipped with rocking chairs, outdoor dining table, free Wifi, and a small Jacuzzi-like dipping pool. Guests are allowed kitchen privileges to the main house kitchen for occasional light food prep. Kitchn use must be coordinated with other guests and family when in residence.

During your stay
Family is sometimes in residence in the main house, and other guests and family may share the common terraces and dipping pool, so at times we do all hang out together. Generally, though, peaceful relaxation and few human distractions reign within the property. Please respect the privacy of others on the property and keep noise to a minimum.

Felisa, the house manager, checks in daily and is available should the need arise. Both Felisa and Carol are available by phone (calls, texts, or Whatapp) and email.

Other things to note
Once-per-week linen and towel changes are included. Your unit will be delivered thoroughly cleaned, and we include an initial supply of drinking water, soap, and toilet tissue for your arrival. Extra drinking water is available for purchase.

We do not have television or public land-line phone service at El Tamarindo.

La Ropa Beach is the best and most beautiful beach on Zihuatanejo Bay, which is in itself one of the astounding jewels of the Mexican Pacific coastline. It is a short, approximately two-block walk to the beach with only a gentle slope rising from the water level to the elevation of the house—no heavy hills to climb when coming and going. Just steps from the door are several restaurants that open during the winter season, with a variety of offerings from home-style Italian to savory fish tacos and chic boutique sandwiches, and along the beach are countless seafood restaurants and plenty of opportunities to imbibe a cold beer or an icy margarita.

Zihuatanejo has been my home since the mid-1990s, although my family and I first fell in love with it in 1969 when it was but a tiny and dusty fishing village. El Tamarindo is a multi-unit family complex that I administer with the valuable help of Felisa, who is hands-on with guest care on site and greatly appreciated by us all. My sisters and other family members are sometimes in residence. I do not live at El Tamarindo but drop by often.
