we had a great time in Dublin and Dave's place was very accommodating, comfortable and well located. Everything's was perfect ! Dave is a careful person, willing to make your journey simpler and easier. Thanks very much !
We enjoyed our visit with Dave McKane so much that when we came back to Dublin before returning to the States, we stayed with him again! He was so friendly and helpful -- anything we needed help with, he was right on. He shared ideas about our time in Dublin, and helped us find information we needed on the Internet. Anything we needed help with at the apartment, he was right there. We totally enjoyed our stay there, and if we go back to Dublin, we'd want to go to Dave's again.
We stayed at Dave's and had a great visit as advertised! He was very accommodating to our early arrival time and provided a clean room for 2 nights of good rest after touring Dublin all day! Cannot beat the location, right in the middle of everything we wanted to see and do in central Dublin, and close to stops for the activities we wanted additional travel for.
We only got to meet Dave very briefly between our busy schedules but he was incredibly nice and welcoming! We would stay at his place again in the future. Cheers!
First of all, thanks for a wonderful stay. Although I haven't actually met Dave as I arranged my travel buddy to meet his, Dave has been quite responsive to my communication and was very pleasant to deal with. Also, he provided some good tips on what to do and where to drink / eat around Dublin. Dave seems to be interested on his guest having a good experience as well as having a super room bang on in the centre of Dublin.
The flat was tidy and filled with nice little details. There were iPod speakers where you could charge your phone / iPod. A power outlet near the bathroom was also very convenient.
All in all, it was a wonderful stay and it was a shame I didn't get to meet Dave in person. I'd fully recommend staying with him and will do so myself next time I'm in Dublin.
Dave was amazing. He was very helpful from the start. As soon as my stay with him was confirmed I received an e-mail with a lot of information about the city of Dublin - different modes of transportation to the airport and their cost, places to see, to eat, etc. Once we arrived he helped with the road-trip of Ireland we planned and gave us more good pointers. The location was perfect as well. Everything was great, again Dave was perfect, couldn't be any better.
This is a great place to stay! Right in the border of the Temple Bar neighborhood, in the center of the city where you can go everywhere by walking. Great host who was very kind to be in contact with us from the very moment we arrived to the airport. The Bus stop to the AirLink (tourist bus Airport-City-Airport) is 25mts away from the doorstep. Very comfortable, big and clean ensuite room!. Recommended 100%. Thanks Dave!!
I stayed at Daves place together with my sister for a short trip to meet up and enjoy the weekend in Dublin.
I contacted him through AirB&B asking for the possibility to come and he immediately replied to set everything up for our stay.
At the end I didn't meet him personally because I arrived late and my sister had already met him, but we kept contact through sms. During all the time he was fast in getting back to me about any doubt.
The apartment is really nice located, directly in the center of Temple Bar but in a quiet small street. We had the big room with our own bathroom. We had everything we needed.
I was staying in Dublin for a conference, which took place in Temple Bar. If you are looking for a central Dublin location then this is perfect. Everything within the conference was a 5min walk away which made popping back to the flat incredibly convenient.
This is Dave's home, which he moves out of when someone stays. Everything was as described and Dave was very helpful and friendly, meeting me as I arrived in the city, to show me the flat.
A bit of noise on Friday and Saturday nights as it is so central but nothing that could keep me awake. Otherwise a quiet, cosy little flat, perfect for a short break in Dublin.
Dave is just an amazing host. Before we arrived he sent us information on places to visit, how to get to the apartment from the airport, and what to do in Dublin. He told us about this amazing restaurant around the corner from his apartment (Queen of Tarts) that had an amazing Bailey's cheesecake. He recommended getting on the Hop on Hop off bus tour which was a great idea!
When we arrived from the airport, he came to pick us up at the bus stop, which was across the street from his apartment. He provided us maps to Dublin, power plug adapters to convert from EU to UK, and even a tablet in our room so we can browse the web.
The apartment is in a great location. You can get to Temple Bar in just a few minutes, the bus stop is right in front of the apartment, and you can walk to shopping areas in no time at all.
Overall Dave is one of the best hosts on Airbnb and I would recommend him to anyone!
A friend and I were in Dublin for the weekend and had a blast. As a college student, this is the place to be, right smack dab in the middle of things. I will recommend this to friends I have coming over the next couple of years, because this was fantastic, and Dave was incredibly helpful. Dave was a great host, and was willing to help with anything we had questions about. The room was like a palace after staying in hostels the whole semester. A private room and bath for 2 of us was great.
