About this listing
The house dates back to the 18th century and it is in the centre of a small village called Porcarecce; it is restored as to maintain its original features in a Tuscan country-style with chest-nut beams and “cotto”; it has got 2 floors.
The house dates back to the 19th century and it is in a very small village called Le Porcarecce; it is restored in a rustic style so as to keep its original features with chestnut beams and bricks; it has two floors: on the first there is a large dining/living room with a fireplace and the kitchen; on the second there are two bedrooms (both with double beds, the bigger one has a folding bed) and the bathroom with a large shower box. The village is dipped into nature and it’s possible to go for walks in the near mountain and woods (also looking for mushrooms or truffles). The village is also very near small towns rich in art and history with gorgeous views such as Sorano, placed on a tuff rock: it has kept a medieval structure and the fortress Orsini is overwhelming it. All around there are several Etruscan necropolis and Filetta SPA. Sovana, the birthplace of the Pope Gregorius VII has a beautiful square surrounded by medieval buildings; the Duomo is just outside, dominating the valley and it’s one of the rare patterns of Gothic Roman Cathedrals ; all around you can visit a big rupestrian necropolis. Pitigliano will amaze you if you arrive from the bottom and go up to the Madonna delle Grazie Church: from there you will enjoy an unforgettable view; after that the centre is kept intact and you can find traces of the great Orsini family….but..it isn’t all that you can do and see…the lake Bolsena is not far (half an hour by car) with its volcanic beaches and towns worth visiting..the Silver coast is about an hour away…..It’s midway between Siena and Rome…
The village is also very near small towns rich in art and history such as Sorano on the river Lente and situated on a big tufa rock; it’s a medieval town and the Orsini Fortress overlooks it; nearby there are Etruscan necropolis and Filetta (or Sorano SPA), a bit farther Saturnia SPA; Sovana, another beautiful medieval town has a wonderful square and its Duomo, a bit outside the town, dominates the valley (it’s an example of gothic-Roman cathedral); nearby a characteristic Etruscan rupestrian necropolis and a beautiful walk in the woodland; Pitigliano is another unforgettable town full of interesting things to discover and to see…this is only something of what the territory offers: lake Bolsena with its black beaches and its characteristic towns is half an hour away; Porcarecce is midway between Siena and Rome.

We had a short but very sweet stay at Roberta's. The house is in a very Green and beautiful area of South Tuscany. Very quiet and restful, yet close to lovely villages and sights - Bomarzo, Pitigliano and lovely Sorano. We would recommend it to anyone! Grazie mille ancora!
