The front door opens to 46th street. If you turn right, you'll hit the Nelson Atkins Museum. If you turn left you'll hit the Country Club Plaza (hundreds of Galleries and Restaurants), if you walk forward you'll hit the Kemper Museum of Modern Art. 75% of our neighbors are 18-25yo students from the Kansas City Art Institute, UMKC, and Rockhurst. Remainder are post grad/professional types. Not many families on the block. Only two I can think of. The same group of guys owns most of the buildings on the block. One of them is always around - they're really nice people, always available. It's a really special block - lots of character.
Make yourself entirely at home. :)
Don't hesitate to call - anytime for anything.
The location was awesome, and Mathew was incredibly responsive to texts. Very comfortable bed and the nice linens were appreciated. Having said that, I will also comment that whoever shot the photos for this listing is an amazing and artistic photographer. :) While they are more or less accurate, they do not convey the age nor the relatively shabby condition of the apartment. Let's just call it shabby chic, shall we? The building is very old and the hallway/entryway is pretty awful and off-putting. We were also put off by the VERY dim lighting in the kitchen and living/dining room....if you need to do any work (which I did), that's a challenge. As the property description states, the majority of the neighbors are students. So think CHEAP student housing. And a lot of these students have large dogs and they are not responsible pet owners, if you catch my drift. So watch your step! (Parallel)parking is also an interesting challenge. I am glad I was not the one having to attempt to park in the tight space available. Oh- and if you smell gas, check the pilot light on the stove.....
Matt was very accommodating, responded very quickly, and the place was as advertised. Clean with many essentials included. Would stay again for sure. Thanks Matt!
Matthew is a super conscientious host. Always easy to get in touch with. The place is as described – it is a great location and that is it strongest point. The bed is very comfortable. Linens are clean and nice. The TV is awesome. Having a piano was great. The kitchen is a little overcrowded with unused appliances, but there is a Keurig and everything is in working order. I would call this apartment "artist housing". It is on the rustic side -a mix of old and new furniture and appliances. The building is run down but the apartment is not. We felt safe in the neighborhood. Great location for dogs- parks on either end of the street. Parking can be challenging but we never had to park too far away.
Matthew was a wonderful host. He was kind, helpful and amazingly attentive. My sweetheart has an affinity for movies which was perfect as Matthews place is loaded for entertainment with the latest movies! I mentioned my love of fruit and he created this glorious basket filled with every morning treat one could imagine. Matthew is a wonderful and discrete host. If you need anything he is a quick text away. We met him as we left to bring back the keys. It was a great pleasure and we hope to stay there each time we visit Kansas City! I definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting. Great location too! We walked to the square and Art Galleries.
The perfect location, it was all I needed for my sales trip! Cute and cozy, and the communication with Matthew was great. I'll be back!
Best location in Kansas City is correct for a title, as a native of KC I know what its like to have the best part of the city right at your feet.
Matthew was very nice,easy-going, and helpful at all times. Prior to our arrival he was prompt with communication and made sure he was there if anything may have arisen.
The stay itself was cozy, comfortable With beautiful Art pieces hanging from the walls, lovely house linens, perfect for a valentines week stay a great fit for us and often we mentioned how nice it would be if we could live in the space.
Thanks MATT until next time!
great experience. Matt set us up for success! comfy place, easy to get to/from. I'll be staying here next time.

The only classes I went to in high school were Jazz band, music theory, and chess club. If I had graduated I would have been 2nd from the bottom of my class. Something about being told to be somewhere at 7:40 (AM) everyday seemed so ridiculous. College was cool though - I have a B.A. in Political Science.
I started a company called PicPhix (sounds like Pic Fix). We created a(website hidden)iPhone app that makes it impossible to take a bad picture. How you ask?
See if you can figure it out. ;)

Put that project on hold and we're now in development on an app to solve a very big problem for Airbnb and make Airbnb hosts lot more money. :) If you're an Airbnb host, ping me to be one of the first to know when we open for testing. This app will make your life so much easier.
Wr raised money to start start a photo editing company but became airbnb enthusiasts accidentally. We saw a very big opportunity to solve a very big problem for the airbnb community. We use whatever excess cash we make from our bookings to cover development costs.
In terms of guests - don't really care too much. Special preference to artists, musicians, or entrepreneurs.
