Guest access
When the whole villa is rented, the owner will lock access to the office and bodega.
Only two vehicles are able to park inside the gates (or 3 small vehicles). We have always parked outside on the driveway without issue but recommend guests to not leave any valuables inside the vehicles.
Other things to note
1. Use of upstairs loft is at your own risk. Please ascend and descend the ladder slowly using both hands and facing the ladder.
2. Please note that water, power, and internet outages are common in this region of Costa Rica due to various unforeseen circumstances. While we strive to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay for our guests, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted water, power supply, and wireless internet service at all times. Each room is equipped with emergency flashlights for the safety of our guests. We also maintain an emergency water tank for shorter water outages.
3. Our location nestled amongst lush vegetation and one block from the beautiful shoreline comes with the potential for encounters with animals, insects, and plants that are native to the region and are an integral part of the natural ecosystem. Please be aware that some animals and insects may make noises that are unfamiliar (ie. howler monkeys and frogs).
We recommend that guests take precautions such as keeping doors and windows closed, using insect repellent, and avoiding leaving food out to minimise the risk of attracting unwanted animals or insects. Additionally, we recommend that you not touch any unknown plants, animals, or insects, as we are not responsible for any damage or harm caused.
4. While we take every precaution to ensure the safety of our guests and their belongings, we cannot be held responsible for any theft, loss, or damage that may occur during your stay. We advise all guests to take cautionary measures to protect their valuables, including but not limited to:
-Locking all doors and windows when leaving the room or property.
-Using the in-room safe or front desk safe to store any valuable items such as cash, passports, and electronics.
-Avoiding leaving valuables unattended on the beach, in public areas, or in your vehicle.
-Being mindful of your surroundings and avoiding walking alone at night.
We also recommend that guests keep copies of important documents, such as passports and credit cards, in a secure location, and to inform us immediately if any theft or loss occurs. We urge guests to report any suspicious activity.
5. Most restaurants here accept credit card payments, but we would recommend withdrawing cash from an ATM before driving into Avellanas. Otherwise, the closest ATM is in the JW Marriott, a 15 minute drive away.
Likewise, we recommend stopping at one of the large grocery stores in Villareal or Paraíso on your way to Avellanas to pick up food and beverages if you plan on preparing your own meals. In Avellanas, there is a small market called Surya Natural Market that sells natural and organic food products but of limited variety and a mini market that sells basic groceries across from The Point.
