The neighborhood

Wow! Where to begin? I say we are surrounded by farmland and the Connecticut River, yet people are still surprised by the beauty of the treehouse feeling as they overlook the river from their quiet, beautiful room. 5 minutes to Northampton's vibrant downtown...shops, music venues, art galleries. You can be busy or hang out at one of the many coffee cafes. Or both. Restaurants??!! It could be Joe's casual neighborhood joint with fabulous Italian food or Eastside Grille for a delicious steak or Paul & Elizabeth's for renowned vegetarian (and fish) offerings. You can walk around downtown and wander in anywhere and have a delicious meal.

Getting around

One mile walk or bike ride to PVTA bus system bus stop that goes downtown, to all the colleges, etc. 5 minutes to downtown by car. 10-15 minutes to Hampshire College and UMass Amherst. Uber and taxi service are available.

Other things to note

Eco-consciousness with none of the hardships. Solar system, hybrid hot water heater and high-efficiency washer and dryer, heating and cooling device, compost and recycling....phew...All efforts are behind the scenes of your serene and luxurious respite.
