Welcome to Sandpiper Haven! A sister property to Sunset Beach Haven, this beloved retreat on Whidbey Island is the perfect getaway. Nestled on famous Penn Cove, this charming single-story home offers direct beach access, stunning 180° views of the Olympic and Cascade Mountains and all the comforts of home including Air Conditioning.
Unwind on our spacious deck, gather around the fire pit, stroll the beach, or cozy up inside to enjoy the scenery. Plus, enjoy seasonal use of kayaks and a rowboat.
The space
Built in 2003, this cozy year-round cabin features 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, perfect for up to 4 guests (5 with an additional fee). With over 300 combined 5-star reviews, guests appreciate the relaxing atmosphere and well-equipped home we provide in a beautiful setting.
Nestled in a birdwatcher’s paradise, you can enjoy resident and migratory waterfowl, along with occasional visits from local bald eagles, seals, and otters. Relax on the expansive deck overlooking Penn Cove, sip morning coffee from our promontory, or roast s'mores by the fire pit. With private beach access just 20 steps away, explore miles of shoreline and take in breathtaking views of Penn Cove, and the Olympic and Cascade Mountains.
Seafood lovers can try their hand at mussel and clam digging and fishing just steps from our home. Seasonal use of kayaks and a 12' rowboat is available for qualified guests, and in summer, enjoy our private heated community pool (FYI access to pool may be limited without notice) —ideal for families!
If the weather turns, cozy up indoors on our comfy furnishings with a book (note gas fireplace will be decommissioned soon), or enjoy movie nights through multiple complimentary streaming services, DirectTV, or our modest DVD collection. Remote workers can tap into their digital nomad and stay connected with two dedicated high-speed internet lines.
Families can create lasting memories with a selection of games, puzzles, along with beach toys for kids. The updated, well-equipped kitchen is perfect for home-cooked meals, including Thanksgiving feasts, or you can explore local restaurants for delicious Pacific Northwest fare. An outdoor gas grill is also available.
The historic waterfront town of Coupeville is just minutes away - recreated Practical Magic with a Walking Tour, visit a wine bar, or savor fresh Penn Cove Mussels. And Oak Harbor just to north offers additional shopping and dining, plus is home to our naval base. To the west, you’ll find Ebey's Landing Preserve and the Coupeville Ferry to historic Port Townsend. Additional attractions include Deception Pass, Greenbank Farms, antique shops, galleries, wineries, whale watching, and the town of Langley.

Guest access
You'll have access to the entire property, including our private deck, fire pit, gas grill, promontory, beach steps, and a sitting area on the beach. For qualified guests, additional access to two sea kayaks and a rowboat is available during Peak Months (generally May through September) at no extra charge, with an electronic waiver required to borrow the boats. We can accommodate up to 2 vehicles, so we recommend carpooling for group get togethers. We cannot accommodate RV's. Ask about large vehicle parking with boat trailers.
You’ll also have access to our community pier, seasonal dock, and miles of beach to explore. If you bring your own kayaks or SUPs, you can launch them directly from the base of our beach steps. For larger boats, please ask beforehand about using the boat ramp, as size limitations apply, and we’ll need a special gate card for access.
Please note that our landscapers, pest control service, garbage collectors, and maintenance workers may need access to the property grounds. We strive to minimize any disruption to your stay as we strive to keep our property in tip-top shape. Thank you for your understanding.

-> Maximum stay for Instant Book is 14 days. Stays longer than 14 days require an inquiry, prior approval, and additional fees. We can consider stays up to three months in duration.

Neighborhood highlights
We love Whidbey Island and have spent years traveling around the Pacific Northwest exploring. We looked at many different communities when considering a second home. Whidbey Island was by far the winner, and Sandpiper Haven took the cake. We are hooked. Whidbey has so much of everything great that the northwest to offer and perfect our family - views, mountains, water, beach, hiking, biking, clamming, kayaking, fishing, and exploring, or just plain kicking back as a family with games, puzzles, a good home-cooked meal, or curling up on the couch with a good book.
