  • It's been a nice experience. I stayed there two nights. Michael explained me the basic things about the house and the neighbourhood and he made everything easy. I saved some money by cooking at his flat (one of the reasons I prefer private accommodation better than hostels or similar). Great balcony where you can sit and read, in a quiet street. Metro station very near and city center (Sintagma sq) at about 30 min on foot. Unfortunatelly he was busy with his shop so we didn't see each other at the flat. Definitely I recommend this place in Athens.

  • The AC was not working and it was horribly hot in the apartment as it was 40 degres in Athens. I would not recommend to rent this apartment during the hot summer days or you will feel like in a sauna. That's a shame. Otherwise, the flat is ok and the area is ok too.

  • Michael was hardly ever at the apartment so I had the place to myself most of the time.

I was able to meet him at his flower shop down the road, it was very easy to find. Michael walked me to the apartment and pointed out the grocery store and bakery that were on his street. There were a selection of maps and guides in the room. Michael pointed out some of the attractions in the city and even gave me advice on which areas to stay away from.

The fast internet made it easy for me to keep up with my work while I was there. Having the washing machine kitchen available to me was very convenient.

  • Michael was a great host. I spoke with him only a few times during my stay, as he was working, but he was always pleasant, always helpful. For an affordable lodging option, I could not have been more pleased! On the way from the airport to Michael's, the train was not running, and due to my unfamiliarity with Athens, and feeling a little overwhelmed with everything being written in greek and all, I took a taxi (38 euros) but on the way back, I took the x97 (5 euros), and it was about a 5 minute walk from Michael's place with no transfers. Easy-peasy. Also, I only took the metro once while I was there, as his place was a 15-20 minute walk from the Acropolis. Subway was easy too. It was a 2 minute walk from Michael's house. 2 blocks west of Michael's was a grocery store, and a bakery with later hours, which really helped out with keeping costs low for my trip.

Thanks, Michael. I felt very comfortable at your place, and would definitely recommend your accommodations to other travelers.

  • Great little 2 bed apartment.
2 mins walk to metro & 3 stops (10mins) to Akropolis
Bakery & mini market across the street
    Washing machine was very useful
Make sure u ask for air con room in summer !
Other room was vacant when I arrived so I had whole apartment to myself.
    Would stay again.

  • I had the opportunity to spend 5 days with Michael during the first week in April 2012. This was my first AIRBNB experience and I must say that it has been very positive from the the initial search to completing the reservation to the follow-up after my stay. I was a bit hesitant about the idea of staying with a perfect stranger. I took a chance based on recommendations from some friends of mine who use AIRBNB. Then reading the feedback from previous guests who had stayed with Michael really put my mind at ease. Michael responded to my request within the hour! Once we confirmed the booking, Michael proceeded to give me detailed directions. Upon my arrival, Michael quickly helped me to get settled into my temporary home and provided me with maps and suggested how to get around. Michael was very hospitable and insisted that I make myself at home. He opened his kitchen which is fully equipped and it also includes a toaster and microwave oven. In fact, Michael suggested that I buy food & beverages at the nearby grocery store CARREFOUR and use his kitchen as I needed. His place is very CLEAN. I enjoyed spending some quiet time on this huge balcony that opened up from my bedroom. Wireless INTERNET was a big plus for me too. My ONLY regret was not making time to spend with him. I will definitely stay with him again.
