Anne Florence and David are very good hosts, welcoming, relaxed and helping.
Their house is very quiet and close to the train (CBD in 10min) and the beach is not very far. The room was neat, clean, and exactly as advertised.
It was perfect, after a 36 hour trip, just a arrive to MY bedroom an take a shower, it was the best start. Anne-Florence was really lovely, kind and so funny, I felt at home during my time there. It's not on the CBD but just a 10 minutes trip to it and really close to the beach.
Anne-Florence is a very laid-back cool french woman and she makes you feel welcome as soon as you meet her or enter the house.
The house is big with a warm bohemian feeling (especially the kitchen/living room area). You get your own room with confortable bed and table and space to put your clothes (it's usually her son's bedroom). The house might be located a bit south but is only 3 min walk from the train station that brings you straight to the city center or 2 min from the tram station, 3 min walk from a small supermarket.
The house and area is super cute and relaxing.
You get a REAL feel of home-stay and airbnb spirit. The room is excellent and the price is really decent. It is the ideal place to have a truely great airbnb experience. (if you are lucky, you'll get to sail with Florence).
Again : truely a 5 stars. I would definitely consider staying here again.
After having been travelling for over 3 months Anne-Florence's house seemed almost like home! The room had everything I needed and the bed was very comfortable. I arrived very early in the morning, but still Anne-Florence gave me a warm welcome, a chat and a coffee. It felt so good to have a large kitchen and cook some simple meals there! Anne-Florence also let me use some of her spices. After staying 3 nights I went on a 2 day tour of the Great Ocean Road and I was able to leave my big luggage in the house and to collect it after the tour, even though I did not stay there any longer! That was very helpful indeed. I found both Anne-Florence and her partner David very welcoming, easy-going and generous. Thank you so much!
I really enjoyed staying here. I felt very comfortable from the moment I walked in the door. Anne-Florence was very accommodating and gave me lots of great advice on where to go in Melbourne as it was my first time. Thanks Anne-Florence for such a great experience! I can't wait to come back to Melbourne and stay again :-)
I have really enjoyed my stay with Anne-Florence and her family, especially the sailing trip! Other than that, Anne-Florence has also provided me with advice on where to go, how to get where best, and what to do about the different insect bites I had gathered after the first 2 nights. Because I've visited France often, and we sometimes spoke French, it felt like a home away from home :-)
Nice place and nice people to stay with. I rented a car upon my arrival in the airport. However it is not necessary, it is quit easy to reach the public transport from the house.
Will stay here next time if I travel to Melbourne again.
