I worked as a visiting researcher at stanford university and I stayed at Jane´s place for more than 6 weeks. The house is right next to the caltrain track. Advantage: Menlo Park caltrain station is 3 minutes by feet. Disadvantage: You hear the trains every 15 minutes from about 5am until 11pm. Sometimes the rooms shakes! If you don´t sleep easily, it might be hard. The bedroom is ok, bathroom is shared. She was never bothered when I came home late because I worked until midnight often. Laundry is public and used from the neighbours too. Price is $2.
You can use the kitchen which is not always clean. She called herself "messy". I didn´t really care about that because I used to eat breakfast only.
Overnight guests are not allowed. My girlfriend visited me the last 2 nights and she was not allowed to stay there. It was not arranged before but there was no room for a discussion at her side. I tried to cancel the last 2 nights but she didn´t agreed over airbnb. After some days airbnb was very friendly and gave me some money back.
To sum up the place is ok if you work in stanford, palo alto or nearby. Airbnb top!
Christopher would benefit from reading the AIRBNB Terms and Conditions regarding the amenities, overnight guests, laundry facilities, etc.. The website lists all the specifics under my "profile". Yes, the train is very close and there is no need for a car and that was listed in the room profile. Cleaning service provided to Christopher free of charge (since he stayed more than thirty days) and he refused the service for his room.
Jane made me feel very welcome and was very nice. The neighborhood was nice. The only drawback is the noise from the train. The condo is very close to both the tracks and to the Menlo Park stop, so there is noise from the train and its horn as it passes road crossings.
Pretty much as was described. Jane was very welcoming and had everything setup in the room. Nice, cozy place, just 3 minutes walk away from the menlo park caltrain. Would love to be there again if I go to Menlo Park
Jane was a great hostess. She laid out everything a guest would need (keys, WIFI password, towel, etc.) in an easy-to-find place. She was very flexible with arrival and departure times. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Jane was a proper host who was flexible and helpful. Her space was as described. Beyond providing what was advertised, Jane also lent me a rain jacket and umbrella to use during my stay. Super helpful!
The neighborhood and location are excellen . Jane made me feel welcome and comfortable. She was there to receive me and explained all the basics around the home and the area.
Hello, my name is Jane. I am a school teacher in Palo Alto and I'm looking for a quiet, mature and professional roommate in my 2bedroom townhouse near downtown Menlo Park.
