About this listing

The space

Our 100 year old villa has been undergoing years of restoration and renovation. We now can offer guests a separate section of the house with two queen bedrooms, each with ensuite (toilet, shower, basin) and garden view. The rooms have private entrances via French doors and ample outside space to hang out on the porch or in the yard. Guests can park outside their room. The two rooms share a lounge with seating for watching TV/DVD, relaxing or enjoying a cuppa. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the lounge and we provide a light breakfast so guests don't leave on an empty stomach. There are no cooking facilities but Kaikoura has numerous dining and takeaway options.
Our house is 80 m from the sea, a short walk to Dolphin Encounter and a 10-15 minute walk to town. The Kaikoura peninsular track can be reached by crossing the street.
Free WiFi.
Very quiet, comfortable and great value.

Adults only, please.
You are booking 1 room for maximum 2 people.
If you require both rooms please send me a message and I will respond with an offer that will allow you to book both rooms together.

If the calendar indicates unavailability on a date you wish to book, please make an inquiry as the system will block out the date after booking only one room. The second room could still be available!

P.S. There is a cat on the premises but she is the world's most timid cat, you'll probably never see her.

It's a privilege to stay in this lovely and special home. So beautifully restored, comfortable, quiet and peaceful location, yet minutes from the beach front. And set in lovely gardens with fruit trees. Susan gave us a lovely breakfast with garden fruit and home baking! Highly recommend!

Everything was great! We got in late so Susan left the light on for us. Breakfast was amazing as it was fresh fruit from the garden. Susan's garden is simply amazing and lovely to walk in. The house itself is a short distance away from the town and dolphin encounter. We could also walk to the peninsula to see the seal colony. We loved our stay. Thank you!

Lovely home. High ceilings, beautifully decorated. Comfy bed, excellent shower and toilet. Shared dining room with a cute, but tiny table. It has a refrigerator, hot water, but not plates or silverware for meals brought in. Lovely garden.

It was a pleasure staying at Susan's place. The room was large, clean and the breakfast was a bonus with fresh fruit and homemade cake. I would definitely recommend staying there if you are visiting Kiakoura. Thanks again Susan.

Very comfortable and well equipped accommodation in a lovingly restored character house. The water pressure in the shower was excellent. A great continental breakfast is provided and Billy is a good host who can point you in the direction of recommended restaurants etc. The property is quietly situated but within easy walking distance of the town, waterfront and restaurants. I would have no hesitation whatever in staying here again

Billy and I have lived in Kaikoura since 2001. Ten years earlier on a NZ cycling trip, we decided Kaikoura should eventually be our home. In the past 30 years we've lived in W. Africa, the U.S., the Middle East, Europe and S.E. Asia. We still enjoy traveling as much as possible, usually by bicycle. However, Kaikoura has indeed become our home and we'd love to help you enjoy it.
