We walked in and were surprised at how big the place was. It was very nice and very comfortable. I could have slept for days on the bedroom bed (couch bed wasn't very comfortable though). It was very cozy and the apartment stayed the perfect comfortable temperature for us without having to turn on the heat even though we had a couple colder rainy days. Nice place to stay! It's quite close to the metro A line (red one) so although it was farther away from most touristic places it was still conveniently located.
I have to say they were all SO accommodating with our arrival since it didn't go anywhere as smoothly as planned. I can't thank them enough for that!! Thank you so much, we loved the place. 100% recommendable!
We stayed at this place for 10 days with two little girls (2 and 4) so this may not apply to people staying one night without kids :) It's a good place for an extended stay, because it's a bit outside the most touristy areas of Rome, but has access to anything you'd need.
The location is good, but definitely not 4 minutes to the Vatican. More like 20 mins by bus or subway when you include walking time. Nice neighbourhood with secure entry, cafes and pizzerias, banks and general shopping around the corner, and a nice restaurant a 2 min walk away. Lots of dog poop on the streets, though, so watch where you walk!
The house itself is clean and a good size. The girls slept on the couch bed, and we had the room. The bathtub was great for both showers and letting the girls splash in the tub. The apartment stayed warm even though we had freezing weather while we were there. We used the washing machine a couple times as well, which was very convenient.
There were a few things that would have made our stay a little easier, no microwave or kettle, for example. We used the espresso maker once, but generally just went to the cafe around the corner. The elderly lady next door watches TV very loudly at night too, which made it a little tough for my daughters to sleep one or two nights.
Lastly, we never met Simon and Francy but check-in and check-out were both very easy and they arranged for a car to pick us up and take us to the airport, which was quite helpful.
My mom and I stayed here for two nights and the apartment was the perfect size for the two of us. The location is good for people who don't want to be in the thick of tourist central - the neighborhood has a lot more locals and less shop owners trying to lure you into their restaurants. But if you enjoy being a part of that hubbub, perhaps find a place closer to the center!
The Cornelia metro station is a 10 minute walk from the apartment and all the noteworthy destinations are a 10-30 minute ride away. About a two minute walk from the place is a little open market where we bought fresh fruit.
We didn't get to meet Simon or Francy but communication with them via Airbnb was quick and their friend showed us around the apartment, which is clean and the perfect size for 2-3 people. Thanks for the lovely stay!
Everything in the listing was accurate. Stefano welcomed us and explained all the turns of the apartment. This is a great location if you want to visit Rome by public transport. The metro station is really close. The apartment was very clean and bed was comfortable. Price/Quality wise, it's A+. We loved staying there. It's in an "Italian" neighborhood where you can get a taste of the "day2day" life. Not touristy at all. All stores are by walking distance.
