Martha, gracias por tu cordialidad y atención. Tu depto está ubicado muy estratégicamente en el Centro Histórico y decorado con mucho cariño y muy bien equipado. El edificio es precioso. Espero volver a visitar México y visitarte. Como argentina puedo decirte que tu país me conmovió en muchos sentidos y tu departamento es parte de los recuerdos intensos que me llevo del DF.
Martha was an excellent host. She was very flexible with check-in and check-out time, and is a very friendly, laid-back person. She suggested a great restaurant around the corner (El Cardenal), and provided a cell phone for her guests to use. The place is very well-located, and is very quiet and safe. The only drawback is that it's a little dark, but if you're going to be out during the day, that shouldn't be an issue. This would be a great place to stay for anyone, especially if you want to be near the main tourist attractions in the historic center. Highly recommended.
I had a great week at Martha's apartment. The location is fantastic, in between the Zocalo and Bellas Artes. Metro is a few blocks away. Most important to me is that it was quiet! The only things to mention are the bathroom is a bit cramped and there is little natural light. But it is full furnished, complete kitchen, wifi, TV with Satelite, DVD.
I would go back. Thanks, Martha.
Martha was great, waiting for us for the several hours of our late arrival. We were in the heart of old Mexico City and our location could not have been better. The apartment was small and quaint but totally adequate. Mexico City, in the winter, can be a bit cool and we did feel that but once under the quilts in bed, warm and comfortable. We would be happy to stay here again. Lorne and Anne
This clean, cozy flat is in a beautiful, secure building in the centro historico. Martha was in communication throughout our stay and was kind enough to arrange transportation to the airport (which was much less expensive than our ride into the city). Subway stops, restaurants, and many sites within walking distance. Great choice!
Cozy and pretty, located almost in the very heart of the city, I didn't have the chance to meet Martha but she made sure everything was under control and had a friend waiting for us at the apartment so we didn't have to wait. We didn't really use anything but the bed and shower, but the kitchen was fully equipped if needed. I felt very safe leaving my things there and I think that's a great plus. I strongly recommend staying at Marthas! Gracias!
My friend and I stayed here for one night while visiting Mexico City. It is located in downtown within close walking distance to the Zocalo. This would be a great place to stay if you like the busier downtown feel. The building itself is older so the apartment has lower ceilings than you may be used to and also feels a bit damp. Additionally, when you flush the bathroom upstairs you can hear all the water running through the main pipe downstairs. It didn't bother us, but just something to keep in mind. The bathroom itself is clean but it may be a bit smaller than you're used to. Downstairs, there is a TV with DISH satellite and the host also has many DVDs you can watch. The host, Martha, was a good communicator, but was out of the town when we visited so she had her friend meet us to give us the key. Overall, I would recommend staying here.
We enjoyed our stay in Martha's cosy apartment right in the heart of Mexico City. Our flight got cancelled at the last minute which meant lengthy delays, but Martha was very accommodating and made arrangements to enable us access the flat late at night. It's location means most of the sights are at a walking distance and the airport and the north bus terminal are also conveniently located. Would recommend this place to anyone visiting Mexico City.
This apartment is great value for its location. We looked at many hotels and B&Bs in Centro, but decided to come here in order to have our own kitchen and washing machine. We were not disappointed. Martha's apartment is small and simply furnished, but it's sufficient for two people. The toilet space is tiny but the bathroom has a very good shower. The apartment has little daylight (as other reviews mentioned), but this was not an issue for us.
We were extremely impressed at how utterly quiet the apartment was. This was incredible considering how much constant commotion there was in Centro. Once you step in the courtyard all was silence, we hardly heard any sound day or night.
We never met Martha on this trip since she was out of town, but she always answered emails almost instantly. It was easy to communicate with her. Don't forget to ask her about the apartment number. We had to call because we didn't know which door to buzz.
Overall, if you don't require luxury and you want a quiet, convenient stay in Centro, you can't beat Martha's apartment!
Martha has been a great host.
We arrived a late in the evening and she waited for us at the apartment. Once I called her for directions she has been so nice to instruct the taxi driver with the correct information.
She kindly showed us the apartment and replied to all the questions we had despite being quite late in the night :)
The place is really nice and the location is perfect !! Super clean, cozy and with all the things you could need: appliances, computer, loudspeakers, etc...
Highly suggested :)
