About this listing
Central Vesterbro apartment with modern design, huge kitchen area and luxurious bath room. Ideal for co-working 6-8 people around the kitchen table w. 100/100 Mbit WiFi. Also ideal for families with small children (ours are 2 months & 2,5 years old).
Oven is over-size and could probably roast two ducks at once. Obama can go to the basement if he doesn't fit your beliefs.
Our apartment is situated only a 7 minutes walk away from the central station, but still in a nice living area of Copenhagen. The neighborhood, Vesterbro, is lively, trendy with lots of hip vintage shops, cafes, bars, and even Michelin restaurants. However the apartment, only a few minutes away from all the fun, is in a very quiet street where you can sleep sound every night. We have kids ourselves, so we know how important this is - and this is not a rental apartment, this is our own home where we live with our two sons and cat (all three will be out while you are here).
The apartment is especially suitable for families with kids, and babies will find the apartment well equipped for their needs (our sons are 2,5 years and two months old, all their toys and equipment are here). In addition the neighbourhood is known for numerous public playgrounds and park areas.
The place is also optimal for co-working, since Jacob is an internet entrepreneur and will leave most of his equipment here. Not to forget we have 100 Mbit up/down internet.
Kitchen, hall and bathroom was completely restored in 2008 with only the finest of Scandinavian design. A spacious living room, a bedroom and a kids room (can be converted into second bedroom) - these three rooms are kept in traditional Copenhagen style with wooden floors and stucco ceiling. The flat is 110 square meters, equal to around 1180 square feet.
Bathroom features high-end Miele washer, rain shower and towel warmer. The bathroom has also got enough table space to change the diapers of two babies at the same time. Kitchen, hall and bathroom are floor heated so that you can leave your socks off.
The heart of the apartment is the huge kitchen and as we love cooking you'll find all the amenities for making a great meal.
Two TVs can be found, both will connect to your iPhone or Android phone right away as they are operated by Apple TV and (website hidden) Chromecast.
Most of our friends live just nearby our apartment and while you are here, consider them your friends. Use them as tour guides, interpreters, handymen or just.. friends. They will also help you get settled once you arrive, by bringing you the key and showing you around the place. Our neighbors are also quite friendly and all speak English.
We give you access to everything! We try to keep our food stricly organic, so if you take some pasta or flour, we ask that you please replace with a similar organic variety. We are both coffee geeks, so you'll have access to our slow brew equipment and some beans from The Coffee Collective. We always have 8-10 different tea varieties.
Interaction with Guests
We will check you in and out, but other than that this is your place for the stay. We'll be close by, so easily reachable by phone if something comes up.
This is the heart of Vesterbro, you can't get much closer to the Meatpacking District, Carlsberg, Enghave Plads and many other trendy and popular hang-outs.
Many tech start-ups are also very closeby, you can actually see the offices of famous Copenhagen start-up Podio from our bathroom window.
The apartment is located just next to Dybbølsbro S-tog station, a major S-train station connecting you to almost everything. Also major bus lines and the central station is very close.
Take care of our home as if it was your own. You'll have our friends in the area as your reception desk, to help you with anything possible. All of our neighbors know us quite well and will be keen to help you - they all speak English fluently and some of them even Spanish.
Integrated gas stove with five hobs, stereo with iPhone dock (for the music) to the left and iPad docking system (for the recipes) to the right.
Jacob was the perfect host, right from the moment we tried to book! He replied instantly to any annoying questions we had. He had even purchased bacon, eggs, juice and a selection of Danish beers for us to try! The apartment's location cannot be faulted, on a bicycle you can get anywhere in central Copenhagen within 10mins. The trendy meat packing district is a 2min walk away, and we (a group of 4 adults) enjoyed eating and drinking here. I would definitely go back and recommend Jacob's place to anyone in the future.
Me and my family, had a perfect stay with Jacob and Marie! A spacious, comfortable and clean space. Big plus for the nice children's room and all the fun toys! The location of the apartment is perfect, very central surrounded by loads of nice cafés and restaurants, still very peaceful and quiet during nighttime. Jacob was a super accommodating host, very friendly and generous. Looking forward to stay at Jacob and Maries place again!
We enjoy our stay in Jacob's house. The apartment is close to city center and in a nice area. It's also spacious, clean and very bright with a large window in the living room.
We loved staying at Jacob and Marie's apartment. The location was excellent and the hosts met us upon arrival to explain everything we wanted to know about the place and the neighbourhood. They treated us to some Danish craft beers and lemonade and made us feel right at home. Would definately recommend this apartment to anyone looking to explore Copenhagen.
Jacob has a wonderful apartment and was incredibly gracious and welcoming. Can't think of a more friendly and hospitable host we've stayed with. We were a bit late coming in from north Jutland, Jason was gracious in waiting for our arrival. This last leg of a long complicated bit of travel wasn't particularly smooth -- we left a few things behind at Jacob's apartment. He was more than happy to run them out to the airport (we were stuck in Copenhagen an extra day). Highly recommend this apartment...for the apartment itself, the location and the host.
Jacob meet us warm welcome in apartment on time. Apartment was prepared and have enough space for our family with 3 little kids. It was a planty of toys for kids and they were well settled in the beds prepared for them.
An area is very central and walking distace to shopping centre and famous street Stroget with many caffes and restaurants arround.
Tivoli park and visitor cenre are walking distance as well.
Public transport and tourist's busses are walking distance as well.
We are very happy that we have choose Jacob's apartment.
If we come to Denmark again, we will be very happy to stay in Jacob's apartment again.
About the Host, Jacob
I live in Copenhagen with my wife Marie, our sons Alfred and Hugo, and our cat Otto. In the summer we stay in our vacation house most of the time, which why we rent out our own apartment here on Airbnb.
We are both food and coffee geeks. I work as an internet entrepreneur and my wife is a communications manager at another tech start-up. I've published a couple of bestsellers (UNBOSS being the most famous) and sit on a few boards, including Roskilde Festival.
