About This Listing
Central Vesterbro apartment with modern design, huge kitchen area and luxurious bath room. Ideal for co-working 6-8 people around the kitchen table using 100/100 Mbit internet and complementary access to hackerspace nearby. Also ideal for families with small children (ours are 1 month & 2,5 years old).
Oven is over-size and could probably roast two ducks at once. Obama can go to the basement if he doesn't fit your beliefs.
Our apartment is situated only a 7 minutes walk away from the central station, but still in a nice living area of Copenhagen. The neighborhood, Vesterbro, is lively, trendy with lots of hip vintage shops, cafes, bars, and even Michelin restaurants. However the apartment, only 5 minutes away from all the fun, is in a very quiet street where you can sleep sound every night. We have kids ourselves, so we know how important this is - and this is not a rental apartment, this is our own home where we live with our two sons and cat (all three will be out while you are here).
The apartment is especially suitable for families with kids, and babies will find the apartment well equipped for their needs (our sons are 2,5 years and one month old and all their toys and equipment are here). In addition the neighbourhood is known for numerous public playgrounds and park areas.
The place is also optimal for co-working, since Jacob is an internet entrepreneur and will leave most of his equipment here. Not to forget we have 100 Mbit up/down wifi and you'll get a key to his hackerspace Prototype just nearby.
Kitchen, hall and bathroom was completely restored in 2008 with only the finest of Scandinavian design. Two spacious living rooms and one bedroom - these three rooms are kept in traditional Copenhagen style with wooden floors and stucco ceiling. The flat is 110 square meters, equal to around 1180 square feet.
Bathroom features high-end Miele washer, rain shower and towel warmer. The bathroom has also got enough table space to change the diapers of two babies at the same time. Kitchen, hall and bathroom are floor heated so that you can leave your socks off.
The heart of the apartment is the huge kitchen and as we love cooking you'll find all the amenities for making a great meal.
Two TVs can be found, both will connect to your iPhone or Android phone right away as they are operated by Apple TV and Chromecast.
Most of our friends live just nearby our apartment and while you are here, consider them your friends. Use them as tour guides, interpreters, handymen or just.. friends. They will also help you get settled once you arrive, by bringing you the key and showing you around the place. Our neighbors are also quite friendly and all speak English.
Everything, including worlds best coffee, tea and a few soft-drinks :-)
Interaction with Guests
We will check you in and out, but other than that this is your place for the stay. We'll be close by, so easily reachable by phone if something comes up.
This is the heart of Vesterbro, you can't get much closer to the Meatpacking District, Carlsberg, Enghave Plads and many other trendy and popular hang-outs.
Most start-ups are also very closeby, you can actually see the offices of famous Copehagen start-up Podio from our bathroom window.
The apartment is located just next to Dybbølsbro S-tog station, a major S-train station connecting you to almost everything. Also major bus lines and the central station is very close.
Take care of our home as if it was your own. You'll have our friends in the area as your reception desk, to help you with anything possible. All of our neighbors know us quite well and will be keen to help you - they all speak English fluently and some of them even Spanish.
Integrated gas stove with five hobs, stereo with iPhone dock (for the music) to the left and iPad docking system (for the recipes) to the right.
The reservation was canceled 10 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had a great stay in Kopenhagen.
Jacob and his wife were very nice when we arrived at the appartment.
He preperated a small map with thinks we have to visit in Kopenhagen.
The appartment was clean and it is near the city center.
If we come back to Kopenhagen we would like to stay again there.
Thank you Jacob
We spent a delightful week on Vesterbro at Jacob's place. Jacob was in the US at the time, but had a friend get us installed - a wee bit quick perhaps, and when issues came up the response time was way slow. Still we managed. The apartment itself is very well layed out with 2 separate bedrooms and one living room off the great kitchen - so nobody interferes with possible sleeping characters in the other rooms. The kitchen is clearly the central place and has all kinds of nice cooking stuff - unfortunately arranged in a rather haphazzard way, so much time was spent opening all the drawers to find something. Most of the time, though, we found it.
The apartment is spacious, full of modern amenities (great kitchen with anything you might need and more) and in a convenient location, just one block from a train station, and near many restaurants and bars in the Meatpacking district. It's also a quick walk (or faster bike ride, I imagine--I didn't try out the local mode of transport) to Tivoli and other tourist attractions. Jacob was a helpful host and always responded to any questions rapidly.
About the Host, Jacob
Ten years ago I began blogging, which only very few Danes did. Through networking in the comments trail I managed to get a company up and running. That company is a management consultancy, Wemind, that helps companies around the world get value out of social media. Hundreds of projects have been solved now with numerous colleagues around the globe.
A few years back I published my first book, on the same topic (social media for business), which became a local bestseller in Denmark. And last year I published UNBOSS, which became an international bestseller on management and organizational design.
I live in Copenhagen with my wife Marie, my son Alfred and our cat Otto. We love traveling to other cities around the world.
Our neighborhood kiosk is open almost 24 hours a day and features all sorts of local (most organic) products, incl. Mikkeller beer made especially for this shop. So.. buy a beer and sit on the grass!Sønder Boulevard 1720
My favorite coffee bar in the neighborhood. Very small, but very cosy. Also a record shop, so if youre into that, you should grab a record while sipping your latte.Skydebanegade 1709
