My family is going skiing for Spring break, and I bet somebody would like our house for SXSW.
The house is a modern architectural wonder built in 2008. It is highly private, two story house with a salt water pool in a bamboo grove. There are two bedrooms upstairs each with queen beds and separate full bathrooms. There are three upstairs outdoor decks. There is a music studio that can have a queen or two singles put in depending on the needs of the renters. The studio also has it's own full bath.
There are two wireless internet sources at either end of the house. There is a giant flat screen TV, netflix, cable, PS3 in the media room. The house has two stereo systems: one for master bedroom and one that powers the main floor and has outdoor speakers for the main deck and pool.
The master bedroom bath features a giant tub and steam room/ shower.
The salt water pool is about 68 degrees during spring break (perfect for a plunge followed by a steam.)
Full kitchen, gas stove, oven, microwave, fridge. Street and driveway free parking.
The house is close to the clubs, and Shoal Creek's hike and bike trail. It is walking distance to great restaurants like Thai Kitchen, Ruby's BBQ, Jax's, Texas French Bread, Changos, Milto's, Conan's Pizza.
Try not to trash the place. You can use or eat anything in the house. If problems arise you can call me (I will give you my cell upon confirmation), and I have a nearby relative who can be onsite in a half hour to assist. Please don't smoke in the house. If I leave guitars behind in the studio, you can jam but don't pull a Pete Townsend. Have a blast at SXSW.
Great clean and big house! Definitely felt at home. Thomas was also very nice and responsive to questions during the weekend. Also the 3page instruction manual was very helpful.
Tom was a fantastic host. We rented the house for SXSW and it was exactly as described, a beautiful and well appointed home. Great private and comfortable bedrooms, wonderful open living space both in the main room/kitchen and by the pool. Tom helped us with a couple of specific requests and was both extremely accommodating and helpful. Would definitely recommend the house for a SXSW party or simply for a family/group enjoying Austin
I booked this house for my colleagues during SXSW 2013 & this is what they had to say about their experience:
"Tom was a gracious host, making my colleague and I feel comfortable in his beautiful, roomy home. We had everything we needed while staying there and he went above and beyond to make us feel at home.
I would recommend his house to anyone looking for a cozy alternative to a hotel in Austin.'
I'm an attorney and a musician and have been in Austin since 1966. I finished building the subject property in 2008 with a very talented builder and architect. More here later.
