The Space

The room itself is midsize, 13'x 11'' and has a view of the S.F. Hills/Twin-Peaks and a partial view of downtown. . Although it faces the street, it is quiet and lovely sunsets at evening time.
The unit is spacious and sunny and recently renovated with high ceilings and hardwood floors.throughout.
There is a short-hair CAT (Trixie) on the premises and she is very sweet and friendly..
The Potrero Hill neighborhood is safe and quiet, and there are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We are only a 10-15 minute drive to downtown or Berkeley/Oakland and the pristine beaches South, Public transportation to downtown is only 3 blocks away and takes aprox. 25-30 mins. From there you can connect to the cable-car for destinations to Fisherman's Warf, Chinatown & North beach. The Cal-Trans train station is also 3 blocks away for those who wish to take public to South S.F., Oyster Bay, Mt. View, Palo Alto or San Jose.
If you rent a car, which I advise if you want to see the North Bay (GG Bridge, Marin Headlands, Pt. Bonita, Sausalito, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach and Pt. Reyes) there is plenty of free and safe street parking within the block of so. I will always try to provide at least a continental breakfast and often can do a great deal better if guests are up before 9 or so, and I am not too busy prepping for a truck lunch that particular morning.

Guest Access

High-Speed Internet, In-Room refrigerator, Full Direct TV with HBO etc. Hot-Tub, deck and roof access.

Interaction with Guests

As much as time and schedules permit!

The Neighborhood

There are lots of restaurants, convenience store and mini-Whole Foods grocery store as well as a few bars all within walking distance. Street parking is free and fairly easy.

Getting around

Close to public transportation: 22 Bus, Cal-Ttrans and Muni-T stations are all within 3 blocks allowing easy access to downtown, the Mission, Upper and Lower Haight as well as the Castro.

Other Things to Note

Also, we're still in a drought so please try not to flush if it's only pee...(I have blue water discs and if you slightly flush the water will disinfect and turn blue without using 5 gallons of water) !

  • We had a good first airbnb experience at Jons. It is really nice to talk to him, "unfortunately" we were all day visiting the city and so we did not spend so much time at his place. We absolutely recommand him! Thanks Jon for your hospitality!!

  • Hi Jon!!!
We are very pleased because of your hospitality. I would deinitely would like to saty with you next time we go to San Francisco.
We had a great experience with you and at your place. You were very nice, flexible according to our needs and very welcoming. Also gave us a lot of guiding to have a great experience in San Francisco. Potrero Hill is a very nice neighborhood, very beautiful and not in the middle of the expensive areas where parking is almost impossible. The pictures you have at Airbnb are very realistic of your place, great view!!! But most of all, your welcoming and hospotality are the best!!!!
    Thank you Jon

  • Jon welcomed me with open arms and made the best breakfast available - banana pancake. He also lent me some of his gear for hiking which was very nice of him. Recommend this guy immensely!

  • Our stay with Jon was our first with airbnb. I read all of the reviews and thought he is too good to be true lets try it. And he really was ! Welcoming, warm, funny, great host, wonderful chef, has a lot of suggestions to what you can do. Provides maps and activities to do. The house is 5 min away from the railway station but in a really nice neighborhood. Up on a hill with fantastic views from both sides. Also even if you have fear of heights you must go on top of the roof. Breathtaking !! Good restaurants close also to buy food. But Jon made breakfast everyday so we didn't get the chance to do so. We were there too few days and will definitely come back to him and his cute cat. If you are thinking of this place do it !! Really do it. Thank you for everything
    Jon :)

  • Jon’s apartment is perfect located on the top of a hill with a perfect view on parts of SFO harbor and for everyone with courage a breathtaking view on the San Francisco skyline from the roof of the building. In the morning Jon welcomes you on the cute wooden balcony with one of his authentic and always very tasty breakfast freshly prepared by himself: Jon runs a Food-Truck and is in the catering business.
Not the kitchen but everything at Jon is very authentic. So his appearance, his flat and last but not least his cute cat Trixie are a real and nice slice of SFO life without attitude. We had a really nice time.

Jon is very opened, relaxed and very helpful. He had a lot of inputs even for places outside San Francisco and gave us maps from all over US. So for us our stay at Quiet Potrero Hill was the perfect start for our trip throughout California.

  • Awesome top of the hill. Great low key place to stay, slept like a baby. Ask Jon for local coffee shop and resto's, as you can get to many with just a short stroll. Loved the neighborhood.

  • Jon is a nice, relaxed guy and gave us some good advice and directions on what to see in SF and around. He also prepared great breakfasts - he's a chef. The room is spacious and well equipped. The apartment was very well located (central and with nice little food joints around the block) and from Jon's terrace you have pretty amazing views of the city, the bay and neighbouring Dogpatch.

  • As all of his other reviews say, Jon's a great host! His breakfasts are great, the bed is comfy, the room is clean and comes with a set of clean towels and hand towels amongst other amenities. It's a great place to come back to and crash after each day of activities and exploring around San Francisco.

  • The best part of my stay at Jon's place was the good food Jon offered every now and then when he has time. The views at the porch and on the roof was also definitely a highlight. You get both sunset and sunrise views. Trixie is a nice cat. There were also good conversations with Jon and the other guests.
