I have two different rooms/listings in the same 3 bedroom apartment, which I also reside in.
I have a cat, in case of allergies. We are located
close to many shops and restaurants and public transportation. (22 Bus, Cal-Trans, and T-Muni train)
The room itself is midsize, 13'x 11'' and has a view of the S.F. Hills/Twin-Peaks and a partial view of downtown. . Although it faces the street, it is quiet and lovely sunsets at evening time.
The unit is spacious and sunny and recently renovated with high ceilings and hardwood floors.throughout.
There is a short-hair CAT (Trixie) on the premises and she is very sweet and friendly..
The Potrero Hill neighborhood is safe and quiet, and there are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We are only a 10-15 minute drive to downtown or Berkeley/Oakland and the pristine beaches South, Public transportation to downtown is only 3 blocks away and takes aprox. 25-30 mins. From there you can connect to the cable-car for destinations to Fisherman's Warf, Chinatown & North beach. The Cal-Trans train station is also 3 blocks away for those who wish to take public to South S.F., Oyster Bay, Mt. View, Palo Alto or San Jose.
If you rent a car, which I advise if you want to see the North Bay (GG Bridge, Marin Headlands, Pt. Bonita, Sausalito, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach and Pt. Reyes) there is plenty of free and safe street parking within the block of so. I will always try to provide at least a continental breakfast and often can do a great deal better if guests are up before 9 or so, and I am not too busy prepping for a truck lunch that particular morning.
High-Speed Internet, In-Room refrigerator, Full Direct TV with HBO etc. Hot-Tub, deck and roof access.
As much as time and schedules permit!
There are lots of restaurants, convenience store and mini-Whole Foods grocery store as well as a few bars all within walking distance. Street parking is free and fairly easy.
Close to public transportation: 22 Bus, Cal-Ttrans and Muni-T stations are all within 3 blocks allowing easy access to downtown, the Mission, Upper and Lower Haight as well as the Castro.
Also, we're still in a drought so please try not to flush if it's only pee...(I have blue water discs and if you slightly flush the water will disinfect and turn blue without using 5 gallons of water) !

Great stay in Potrero Hill. Clean private room overlooking the street with a shared bathroom. Nice shared balcony with a gorgeous view of the bay. Jon even made us coffee and breakfast every morning.
This was my first visit to the States, staying at Jon's made it not only a pleasant but also unique experience, I felt like I was staying with a friend.
To be more specific...
The location. Peaceful residential area yet not far from downtown. Easy access to public transportation, T-line, bus 22 and even Caltrain are all within walking distance by which you can go almost anywhere in San Francisco and other places in California. For people who don't drive like me, this makes a significant difference.
The house. In art deco. Spacious. And the highlight is of course the balcony where you can enjoy a superb bay view. Sitting on the balcony, immersing myself in sunshine, this was how I started my day each day in San Francisco. In the evening, with the city lights in distance and stars in the sky, the balcony is a perfect place to relax, to meditate…
Last but not least, the host! Jon was very helpful even before my arrival, patiently answering my questions including silly ones. As soon as I got to the house, what I received was not only Jon's warm smile but also a San Francisco walking tour guide he prepared. How considerate! Although it was well mentioned in the previous reviews, it is worth another round of applause – yes, it is Jon's cooking! I had the best ever pancake at Jon's. The burrito I had from a restaurant was not even close to Jon's. Please do not put any ketchup on Jon's French fries, it would only ruin the taste. And the yummy omelette… Good things were just happening, Jon even offered me airport sendoff and a hiking trip prior to that! There was also a small detail, I myself didn't think of it at all, but Jon brought me sneakers to better cope with the hiking. Again, how considerate! That's all? No! I went to LA after SF, and received email from Jon telling me where to eat in LA…
For those who will be in San Francisco but not able to stay at Jon's (from my days there, I know how popular it is!), you may visit Jon's food truck (website hidden), so you can at least check out Jon's cooking - "A restaurant quality street food" said the proud chef!
I was super busy the entire time I was in San Francisco, so I pretty much just slept at Jon's place and only had a few brief interactions with him. The place was clean and Jon was pleasant when I saw him.
Our stay with Jon was excellent. He was extremely helpful with our lack of knowledge of where to go and how to get around... directions etc. Breakfast on the balcony was amazing! And the view of the city lights from the rooftop well worth the climb up! We would highly recommend Jon as a host anytime. Even Trixie was accommodating... as long as we didnt block out her sunlight she loved to lay in... Over all, highly recommend... thanks Jon.
My wife and I stayed at Jon's place for 6 days and we were very happy. The view from Jon's porch is wonderful looking out over San Francisco Bay in the morning while eating breakfast and having coffee that Jon served.
we just loved staying there. First the place is just amazing, very artistic. There is a beautiful terrace and a roof with a great view to the city. Second Jon is such a cool host to have. very friendly, very relaxed and very good to be around, someone who you would not expect to meet anywhere but in San Francisco. Also a great cook, He is also so incredibly helpful. we had problems with our camera on the last day of our stay and our next destination was Yosemite so it was a bit upsetting to not have a camera in such a beautiful place so when Jon heard about it he just gave us his camera and this is definitely not something that everyone does :) we really appreciated staying there and hope to stay there again next time when in SF.
Staying in Jons lovely flat was my first airbnb experience and it was a good one! He is a very kind host and cooks a mean breakfast :-).Jon explained how to get to the house in Detail and even has worked out a "San Francisco Walking trail" for his guests. The area ist safe and very friendly and the view from his deck breathtaking. Highly recommended!
Great neighborhood! Jon is an awesome chef. The breakfasts were amazing
Jon's flat is in an excellent location - great transport links everywhere - and that balcony view is magnificent. The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly, with some interesting cafes, bars and restaurants. Jon’s very knowledgeable about the area, and provided a tourist board’s worth of local maps, things to do and info. Because he works unsociable hours, he’s normally around to help out.
Jon is passionate about his food, and always up to something in the kitchen - he did us an excellent breakfast one morning which was much appreciated. You'll get a feel for the whirlwind life of the food-truck caterer!
The room itself is also great - clean comfortable and plenty of towels and other necessities.
I will always remember the great view from the sunny balcony, delicious breakfast created by Jon, warm and sunny days and nights in this nice neighbourhood and so many things to do and to see. Thank you Jon for a great time in your flat.
