About this listing
I have two different rooms/listings in the same 3 bedroom apartment, which I also reside in.
I have a cat, in case of allergies. We are located close to many shops and restaurants and public transportation. (22 Bus, Cal-Trans, and T-Muni train)
The room itself is midsize, 13'x 11'' and has a view of the S.F. Hills/Twin-Peaks and a partial view of downtown. . Although it faces the street, it is quiet and lovely sunsets at evening time.
The unit is spacious and sunny and recently renovated with high ceilings and hardwood floors throughout.
There is a mid-hair cat (Trixie) on the premises and she is very sweet and friendly..
The Potrero Hill neighborhood is safe and quiet, and there are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. We are only a 10-15 minute drive to downtown or Berkeley/Oakland and the pristine beaches South, Public transportation to downtown is only 3 blocks away and takes aprox. 25-30 mins. From there you can connect to the cable-car for destinations to Fisherman's Warf, Chinatown & North beach. The Cal-Trans train station is also 3 blocks away for those who wish to take public to South S.F., Oyster Bay, Mt. View, Palo Alto or San Jose.
If you rent a car, which I advise if you want to see the North Bay (GG Bridge, Marin Headlands, Pt. Bonita, Sausalito, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach and Pt. Reyes) there is plenty of free and safe street parking within the block of so. I will always try to provide at least coffee/continental breakfast and often can do even better if the timing is right and I am not busy prepping for a truck lunch that particular morning.
High-Speed Internet, In-Room refrigerator, Microwave oven, Full Direct TV with HBO etc. Hot-Tub, deck and roof access, and light cooking is fine in the kitchen.
Interaction with Guests
As much as time and schedules permit!
I tend to be more social in the mornings and afternoons instead of the evenings, when I am often tired.
There are lots of restaurants on 18th St. and 2 convenience stores and mini-mini "whole foods" type grocery store as well as a few bars all within walking distance. Street parking is free and fairly easy. There are a couple of places to run and tennis courts a few blocks away.
Close to public transportation: 22 Bus, Cal-Ttrans and Muni-T stations are all within 3 blocks allowing easy access to downtown, the Mission, Upper and Lower Haight as well as the Castro.
Other Things to Note
Also, California is in a big drought so please try not to flush if it's only pee. (I have these blue water discs and if you slightly flush the water it will disinfect and turn the water blue and saves 3 gallons of water) Sorry, there's no diplomatic way to ask that and we are in BIG trouble out here!
1. No smoking indoors...outside deck or on the roof, or in/by the hot tub area is fine..
2. No pets, so please don't ask. Please don't use the towels I provide to wipe off makeup. 3. Please turn off lights when leaving rooms....
4. Light cooking is fine but I don't encourage it on a daily basis as I use my kitchen a lot for work.
5. Please respect the wood and don't leave wet towels on the hardwood floors...
6. I am a social being but sometimes need my livingroom space in the evenings after a work day.
Jon was an excellent host! Very welcoming, helpful and sociable. The house has an excellent view on the bay; clean, tidy, and comfortable room. I especially loved Jon's imported selection of coffee and his smoked salmon bagels are irresistible. If I were to come to San Francisco again I would certainly check Jon's before looking into hotels. The personable experience of staying with a host like Jon surpasses, in every respect, the faceless apparition of the hotel industry!
The room was perfect for a quick trip to SF. Jon was welcoming and friendly and made the stay comfortable.
Jon was friendly, easy going and helpful, although he is very busy with his food business. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. He showed me how things worked before he left for a few days. Beautiful apartment with outstanding views. I would not recommend leaving a hire car in the area, mine was broken into.
My experience at Jon's place was awesome!
The room is sweet, the bed was comfy, and the location is great. It's in a very safe neighborhood, close enough to walk to downtown.
Jon was a super cool guy who always made sure that I felt at home. He made coffee for me every morning and a really good breakfast on my last stay.
Definitely the best stay I've had so far!
The room was quite ok. The private bathroom is a plus. The host Jon is discreet.
Great stay with Jon! Beautiful view on the bay from the deck. You can also see part of the skyline in this room. The neighborhood is really quiet with shops and restaurants few blocks away.
Jon was offering coffee and breakfast, helping out to store my bike. and had lots of recommendation for our roadtrip in California. A great host!
