This is a unique opportunity for visitors to Umbria to immerse themselves into the lives of an Italian family, who are keen to foster intercultural relationships with visitors from around the world.
Abbondante colazione continentale classica. Si prepara anche l'English Breakfast. Si tiene conto anche delle particolri esigenze degli ospiti (allergie, intolleranze, ecc)
L'Aura Bed & Breakfast is located in a loft of an ancient palace in Spoleto's historical center. No lift.
Its main feature is a particularly warm and cozy atmosphere, and it is the ideal base in order to visit every place of interest of the town and of the whole region.
The double room is furnished with antique and valuable furniture, and it has its own bathroom. The structure also has a wide living room (for reading and relaxing, with a free wifi zone) and a stunning terrace, where it will be possible to have breakfast during spring and summer time. In the neighborhood you may find almost every kind of shops and offices, such as cafes, restaurants, newsstands, typical products stores, banks and post offices.
L'aura is also really close to every place of interest of the city, like the Cathedral, the old medieval castle, the so called «Towers' Bridge» (old medieval aqueduct), the roman theater, the Teatro Nuovo, the church of st. Salvatore which has been recently awarded of the World Heritage Site title, the old convent of st. Nicolò, Collicola Palace and its modern art gallery, and so many more things and places to discover. In this house you will feel completely at ease, enjoying a warm and comfortable setting, and the owner Claudia will be happy to give you any kind of information about the city you will request and to suggest you special places and itineraries, thanks to her knowledge in the history of art.
The place is really easy to reach: it is 10 minutes far from the train station, where you can find a bus or a cab service to the town center. Whether it will be possible, Claudia will be glad to come and pick you up. For whom arriving by car, parking is the easiest thing to find and Claudia will give you a free-parking pass.
Interaction with Guests
Claudia, the owner of L’Aura, is well versed in the history of the area. She is always happy to provide information on the city and to suggest special destinations. When work commitments allow, she is also on hand to organise a lift to or from the station.
Claudia, and her sister Felicita, devote a great deal of time to making sure the guests at L’Aura experience their visit to Spoleto to the full. They also make sure to provide everybody with their contact details, at all times, in case of any problems that might arise.
After 2 weeks in Italy I can say without a doubt that L'aura in Spoleto was unbelievable. The city is incredible but the hospitality of Claudia rendered our stay a true joy. Super clean, plenty of space, independence in our room and the most delicious breakfast we have had in this amazing country. The pictures don't even describe accurately how charming and enchanting this b&b is. Thank you Claudia! We will definitely go back to Spoleto and to lovely l'aura b&b!
Excellent. The house is located in the heart of the old town, so it's minutes walk from anything you need and all that's worth seeing.
The place is newly refurbished with taste, clean, functional and well appointed. The view form the terrace is one of the best you could wish for. Rooms offer privacy and comfort.
Claudia and her sister are lovely hosts, interesting, friendly and very knowledgeable about the area, so you can trust them to give you good advice on anything you may be interested in.
There is free parking nearby, a good choice of tasty restaurants, wireless works fine, definitely recommended.
This was our first Airbnb experience so I didn't know what to expect. We were told we would not get breakfast, but could go to one of three local restaurants. Actually breakfast was a choice of dry cereal, bread, jelly or yoghurt. Nothing special.
The room was on a separate wing of the apartment and had its own bathroom. No shower and the smallest tub I've been in (I'm 5'10" 165lbs and it was an experience getting in and out). Smelled a bit from recent rains but very clean. Bedroom was very clean although a bit dinghy.
Claudia was very nice. Speaks very little English. Her son had just returned from. first semester in college in Rome and he spoke English. He was nice and we enjoyed his new Freshman attitude of "There's really nothing nice in Spoleto when you live in Rome." Claudia had to go to work the next morning but her sister filled in and she was nice.
A bit hard to find (as are almost all addresses in Italy) and there really are several steep flights of stairs. Claudia gave us a parking permit but you are still on your own to find a space in Spoleto which can be a challenge.
