About This Listing
This private, cozy little studio is a perfect home away from home. Full kitchen for your use. Centrally located only steps from the Damen Brown line. Surrounded by shops and restaurants, there's something for everyone in this Chicago haven.
The bed is even comfier than it looks and comes with its own view of the Chicago skyline- albeit in photo form.
Formerly Ellenkate's apartment before she and Tim moved in together, the space is a sanctuary in the heart of the busy city. Let this bright and cozy studio introduce you to Chicago's quiet side. Large windows let in sunshine through the trees outside, and though the space is small, it's got everything you need to be at home. Our table doubles as a desk to plan your Chicago adventures, or can be pulled out to seat four if you'd rather stay in. Curl up on the loveseat with a book, or enjoy a bath in the cheery and serene bathtub. Up to two people can comfortably stay in the apartment - any more and it's a bit crowded.
The apartment is in a prime location, with the Damen Corridor just outside. A 5 minute stroll to the east will take you to the Lincoln Avenue shops and restaurants, as well as the public square and fountain that gives the neighborhood it's name. To you the south lies Montrose avenue, with it's cluster of shops and bars, and just a few blocks north is the up-and-developing Lawrence Avenue Streetscape. Only a 10 minute bus ride or a 25 minute walk from the hip Andersonville strip, this place is your ticket to the Windy City's hidden gems in all directions. Plus, you're just one block from taking the Brown Line (Damen stop) downtown to all the mainstream sights and scenes Chicago is known for. You never know, though...with so many great restaurants and bars steps outside your Damen doorstep, you might find yourself staying very close to home!
You will be the sole tenant of this private, QUIET apartment - no shared bathroom or other shared space. The building is very quiet, as are the neighbors to either side. The apartment is located on the ground floor - the windows are actually at ground level. Lots of daylight streams in. Occasionally an adorable bunny will take up residence at the base of the tree next to the window.
We have wireless internet so you can stay connected, work, and plan adventures.
The kitchen contains all basic essentials needed to prepare food, with electric coffee maker and french press. If there is something in particular you need, please just let us know and we'll do what we can to make sure it's there for you!

Lincoln Square is located in the mighty 47th ward - the safest ward in all Chicago! Restaurants and shops abound- there's something for everyone! Smack dab between two great parks, and close to public transit, it's the perfect home base from which to explore this great city.
We love the diversity of dining options in the area - and the two great breweries! Walking around the tree lined streets is pleasant and relaxing, and there's always something going on around the corner. Traditionally an older German neighborhood, Lincoln Square holds Mayfest and Oktoberfest each year. There's also Apple Fest and Ribfest - so something for everyone! In the summer, a fantastic farmer's market showcases the best produce in the region, and there are concerts in the square and in the park throughout the summer months.
In winter, there is still plenty to do - an ancient movie theater around the corner will have you thinking you've gone back in time, with $6 tickets before 6pm. Whatever your favorite cuisine is, we can recommend a place to find it! Seriously - within walking distance of the apartment there are many different options, including French, German, Greek, New American, sushi, and multiple gastropubs. Not to mention the two micro-breweries in the neighborhood - great for touring and tasting on cold-weather days.
You won't find any big-box stores in the neighborhood - most everything is a small business with only one location.
You can see the Damen Brown line stop from the front door! And the Damen bus stops right outside.
Or, download Uber on your phone and use referral code w7ojp for up to $30 of rideshare credit.
While there is no dedicated parking, there is plenty of free street parking available around the apartment.
Other Things to Note
The studio is on the ground floor of a four story apartment building.
We love welcoming guests to our home and have fun making it as comfortable and welcoming as possible. However, it is a private residence in an older Chicago building, with all the charm and personality quirks that entails. If you are looking for a boutique hotel experience, you would be happier in a different space.
The big one is the golden one! We want you to feel at home, and to treat and care for the space as if it were your own.

Apartment was exactly as described and super convenient to public transportation! It was all we needed for a fun weekend in Chicago!
What a cute, clean, and cozy place!! This apartment felt like being at home away from home. The hosts were incredibly helpful and were quick to respond to my various messages/phone calls. Yes, the space is a little small, but it was the perfect size for me and my friend. It is walking distance to various shops and restaurants, and the proximity to the Brown Line was a major perk. We loved staying here!
Ellenkate was quick to respond to all of our questions and to bring over additional supplies to the studio when needed. The studio is only a block away from a brown line station so it was very convenient to get into the city and back home. The studio itself was very comfortable with all basic amenities covered. Overall a great stay!

About the Host, Ellenkate And Tim
We're a young couple, and we live on the go. We love grabbing brunch with friends or a late-night beer down the street, and Chicago's the perfect place for us. We love to introduce visitors to this wonderful city! We don't need a whole lot, just fresh mew music, gluten-free food, a place for our bikes, and The West Wing on Netflix.
When we're not staying at our studio, We're usually just a few blocks away. So, we're often in the neighborhood and happy to help with the odd question or request.
