The Little House on the Hill

House - Entire home/apt · Farm to Market, Austin, TX 78724, United States

The Space

Hi, I'm Adam from Austin, Texas and I am excited to host you! I built the little house on the hill as a micro home; it has everything a home has in a very small package. I truly love this home and can’t wait to share it with you!

The Little House on the Hill has a beautiful country view and atmosphere just minutes from everything Austin has to offer.

The little house is a beautifully hand crafted 340 sq. ft. micro home built on top of a hill overlooking the south Austin skyline. The cottage can comfortably accommodate up to 2 adults. Inside there is a full kitchen, full-size loft bed, walk-in-shower, 40 inch flat screen TV with standard cable channels, couch and small folding table and chair.

********************PLEASE NOTE***********************
We DO NOT offer internet in the house, however we have fantastic LTE cell-phone service with most carriers (att, t-mobile, version, sprint) so that you can still enjoy internet through your smart phone.

The kitchen has brand new stainless steel appliances, which include a microwave, gas oven and stove, refrigerator and reclaimed vintage cast iron sink set in a custom concrete counter top. Coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes and utensils are also included in the kitchen. There is also a pantry to store dry groceries. We do not have a dish washer so you will be responsible for washing your dishes before leaving.
Caffeinated coffee, creamer and sweetener are also included for your enjoyment.

The bathroom is full size and includes a large walk in shower with overhead lighting. The restroom is NOT separated by a door, therefore, minimal privacy is available while using the restroom facilities. This is a one room cottage; you will not want to stay here with someone you are not comfortable with. Hand towels, bath towels, washcloths, toilet paper and hand soap are included during your stay. Please bring your own toiletries.

Beside the bathroom and under the loft bed is a designated closet area which includes a cabinet for folded clothes, and a clothes rod for hanging garments. ABOVE the closet area is the full size bed, with a comfy foam mattress. Two alternative-down pillows and linens are provided.
The bed is 7 feet in the air and therefore, a ladder is used to access the bed, gaurd rails are set on either side of the bed for your added safety. In addition, the clearance above the bed is only 3 feet so it's very cozy.

A rear patio/deck with an amazing view of south Austin is included in your stay. A gas grill is located on the back patio for your enjoyment, as well as an outdoor dining table and chairs.

  • I loved staying at The Little House, it was the perfect place for my long weekend in Austin. The location is great, not far from downtown or the airport. Everything is very comfortable, clean and efficiently set up. I would highly recommend this place and hope to come back soon!

  • That little house had everything we needed for our stay, it's nicely decorated and the location is a short 10 minute drive from downtown Austin. Waking up to the neighbors cows by the fence was a nice surprise!

  • Adam and Sabine have set up a great little house just outside of Austin. I made good use of the porch during my stay. Thanks again!

  • The Little House on the Hill was perfect for our getaway to Austin. With just a quick car ride from the city, the location was lovely and there were beautiful views of the countryside with the city off in the distance. The house had everything we needed to cook in and even grill if we wanted - make use of the porch if the weather is nice! Yes it's small but it was comfortable for two people and extremely clean and nice. If we go back to Austin we would definitely stay here again!

  • Great view!

  • My stay was warm and enjoyable. The cozy home provided great amenities that made my stay feel so much more comfortable such as cookware, eating utensils, a television as well as DVD player. Adam was kind and was seen working in his shed on occasion, however, he never invaded our privacy. In such an isolated area it's nice to see a familiar face. Although the location is secluded it was no trouble at all to get around the city. It was also nice to wake up, step out on the great deck and take in such a peaceful view of Austin.

  • We had a great time staying at the Little House on the Hill. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures and description, and very accessible to Austin. It is outside of the city, but only a 15-20 minute drive in and we never had traffic like the northern suburbs seem to get. The home is certainly cozy, but very inline with the description and very private. Adam and all his dogs are very friendly too!

  • The little house on the hill was perfect! Exactly as pictured, but pictures don't do the view justice. Everything you need is there including shampoo conditioner or soap in case you forget. Adam was very helpful in recommending places to eat as well. Thanks Adam The Salt Lick was amazing! I will definitely stay here again.

I moved to Austin in 2006 from Los Angeles, California. Upon moving to Austin, I started my construction company, Earnest Construction, and began setting roots here. I finally have settled on a beautiful 4 acre lot and built my cozy cabin. The cabin is situated on the highest point of the acreage so there is an incredible view of the city skyscape and distant view of the Austin airport. You can see the stars at night and enjoy a feeling of being in the country yet just 8 miles east on MLK Boulevard to the Texas State Capitol downtown. My girlfriend, Sabine, and I have another residence a mile from my cabin now but I still return during the week to do work in my workshop also located on the acreage. I hope you enjoy my little slice of heaven in Austin.
