Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • All in all a great place for the budget traveler. It was clean, comfortable, and friendly. The open air cabana let in a wonderful breeze that made sleeping at night very comfortable. The people staying there were all friendly and the atmosphere is warm. It was great to be able to use the kitchen to cook a few of our own meals and save some money as Tulum has become absurdly expensive.
A few items of note. Because of the location next to the cenote (feels more like a river or pond really) the mosquitos are bad in the late afternoon/evening, so bring repellant.
We had a scary critter (and i'm not particularly squeamish) in our cabana one night which the manager took care of very efficiently. The same thing happened the second night though, and there wasn't a soul in sight, so I had to take care of it myself, which was fairly unpleasant.
The place is located at the end of the hotel "strip" almost all the way to the entrance of the Sian Kaan Biosphere, on the right hand side. The sign says XBalamque.

  • Overall we had a nice stay in Tulum!
Had we read the description properly, we would have known that reception closes at 2pm and that the cabins were not on the beach. So on arrival we were quite disappointed. But other people staying at the place were kind and showed us to some cabins.
There is a private access to the beach, wifi during the afternoon, a nice outdoor living room and lots of other people if you want to interact.
As for all hotels in this area electricity comes from a generator, so you might want to make sure you get a cabin that is not too close to it.
As I said, it was a nice stay with lots of nice people and I don't think you can get anything better for the price in that location! We will definitely come back here next time we come to Tulum!

  • We didn't actually stay here. We booked 3 nights but when we arrived there was no one around and we waited for an hour.. It was mid afternoon and with three young kids we didn't want to be stuck without a place to stay We stayed close by for 1 night and the cenotes are nice and fun for the kids, but we left the Tulum beach area as we found it expensive for what you get.

  • Great place with authentic cabanas and mosquito netting surrounding the beds. Traveling alone, I spent time eating and hanging out with other guests and Legna, the manager, around an outside table. The other guests were musicians and adventurers from around the world and great company. It was a great way for me to meet travelers from all over. We developed a sweet temporary community. The water pump was out for a day; the manager and staff worked efficiently to restore water flow. All part of the adventure. Bring food to store in the literal ice chest, hang out and make new friends. Bring DEET! Legna is a delightful welcoming host. One of the dogs, Dhuni, will be your new best friend and accompany you as you walk on the gorgeous beach and swim in the cenote.

Jose Eduardo communicated clearly and promptly--both as I was making plans and after I reserved.

I´m a Cancun fan that wants to share this beautiful paradise with people all over the world. I love Music, I love to sing, play the guitar and invite my friends to sing along with me. Im a fresh food fan and I think I know the best restaurants in Cancun, and they´re not necessarily the expensive ones. I´m a proud Mexican and I love Mexico´s History. I deeply respect and enjoy nature and animals. I would like my guests to think of me as an easygoing, down to earth, Bohemian kind of guy. I don´t really have a life motto in particular but if I had one it would be something like: Share Love and respect everyone.
