About this listing
We are a small guest house, but our location is close to center of Ubud around 10 minute on foot. we will so you about the real Balinese live.
We have 4 bedrooms to rent our separately. Each room is equipped with either twin beds or a queen size bed and a ceiling fan. The shower comes with hot water and flush toilet. There is Wi Fi connection available in the guest house.
Ubud is a remarkable town in the middle of the island of Bali. For more than a century, it has been the island's preeminent centre for fine arts, dance and music. While it once was a haven for scruffy backpackers, cosmic seekers, artists and bohemians, Ubud is now a hot spot for literati, glitterati, art collectors and connoisseurs. Famous names walk its busy sidewalks everyday
Ubud is arguably the best place to use as a base if you're visiting Bali; if you're looking for culture, comfort, nature and inspiration. Ubud is surrounded by most of the things that bring people to Bali -- scenic rice fields, small villages, art and craft communities, ancient temples, palaces, rivers. And it's central location makes it easy to get from Ubud to the mountains, beaches, and major towns.
Ngurah and his family were very friendly and helpful and picked us up from the shops where our lazy driver dropped us. The accommodation is basic but comfortable and away from the busy main streets. Breakfast is delicious and it's nice sitting on the porch surrounded by the gardens. Make sure you have mosquito repellent though. There's free water refills too! And Toby, their daughter's dog is very cute.
We absolutely loved our time at the Suastika Lodge. We actually ended up staying in Room 2 (directly next door, sharing a wall) because someone else arriving that day requested separate beds and we didn't have a preference. It didn't matter either way because Ngurah and his family are amazing!
Please note that this isn't a hotel or private villa resort. Our next door neighbor seemed to have thought so and tried to shush us and all the animals outside (she also told us not to flush our toilet at night or to speak at all). She even yelled "Shut up!" to us for talking when we woke up. That is not what to expect when coming to the Suastika Lodge. It is not quiet as there is a forest in the backyard, and each room shares a wall with the room next door (2 rooms together in each house/building), but the sounds you hear are all natural and beautiful (animals mainly) and neighbors are usually quiet and respectful. If you want complete quiet and privacy, please pay more and rent a hotel; but if you want an authentic experience living with a Balinese family and seeing how they do life, this is the perfect place.
We stayed three nights and breakfast was DELICIOUS. Service was EXCELLENT. The friendships we made will be FOREVER. :)
Ngurah told us that they intentionally try to treat their guests as family rather than customers, and we totally felt that during our stay. At night after coming home from a day of activities, we'd sit outside with them and just talk, laugh, and bond. On our last night, we attended a village ceremony with Ayu & Aji (daughter and father) and it was such a nice time. Ngurah and his family are blessed people who share their kindness with others. We hope that future people who stay here will see that too.
All in all, completely recommend! 10/10 would do it again.
We had a fantastic time here, was a real caring family. The rooms were spacious and clean, Mozzies nets provided and excellent breakfast.
Best banana pancakes for breakfast in Bali and Lombok! Beautiful garden, simple rooms and convenient location in the center of Ubud.
Ubud est une ville fort sympathique une fois que l'on s'est (website hidden) bouge bien et a la suastika lodge, on se remet au vert pour revenir au calme.C'est parfait.
Ngurah and his family are really nice and they are available to help you with everything they can.
Really enjoyed my time here!
