Kelly actively communicated with me regarding the cabin and provided all of the information our group would need for our weekend away. He even was kind of to email me and let me know of a special movie night that was occurring the weekend we would be staying at the cabin! The cabin was perfect for our large party and we greatly enjoyed the closed in back porch during a thunderstorm and the firepit once it got dark. I highly recommend Kelly's cabin if you have a large group and are looking to get away from the big city.
We absolutely loved our stay! It was a great place to bring out puppy (it's pretty secluded so she ran around all day). We went to the Tibbet Knob and Big Schloss as well as the lake nearby to swim. Really nice and peaceful. The house is quaint and really cute. The bonfire area is great, we used it every night. Kelly was really thorough about everything and was available right away for any questions we had. Would definitely come back (and probably will) :)
This cabin is wonderful. Having two kitchens for our group was fantastic! Liquids in one... food in the other! So much fun. I've never rented a place where the owner was so incredibly helpful. When we checked in, we received a text message welcoming us to the home! So indicative of how great they were to work with! Great job! Thanks to your family for sharing your home with our group of triathletes!
We had a GREAT time at Kelley and Jack's Place! Kelley was an extremely helpful host, in the months leading up to our visit and the weekend we were there. The home was spacious, pristine, and very homey. The land was beautiful, we were surrounded by trees, it felt as though we were alone in the woods. There was space for the kids to explore around outdoors as well. And the firepit was the crown jewel - large and welcoming, with comfortable chairs for us adults to relax and laugh in. Trout Pond provided a perfect day of hiking, swimming, and beach fun, for adults and kids. We'd definitely come back. Thank you!
Kelly’s Lost River Cabin is an absolutely amazing getaway destination. We stayed for the weekend, primarily using the cabin to visit all the wineries along the Shenandoah Valley area on route 81. The cabin is in a very intimate and secluded location yet still has all modern desirable amenities. Kelly is very quick to communicate important information and could not have made us feel more welcome; he even emailed us on the second day of our stay to make sure everything was going well. We could not have possibly been happier with our stay. Highly recommend
My friends and I had a great time at Kelly's place! He was super communicative before our stay and even checked in with us over the wknd. The house is adorable - we can't wait to go back!
The experience was delightful, thanks for a wonderful stay. The hosts sent over information well in advance to help us prepare for our trip; the directions and instructions for the house were clear and thorough. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, spices, and appliances. The house had extra sheets, blankets, and pillows. The fire pit was great, and the area was serene and relaxing. The house is about 30 minutes from hiking, as well as restaurants and stores. We would definitely stay here again.

About the Host, Kelly
My name is Kelly and I live in Washington, DC, with my husband and our three recently-adopted children. We live across the street from the Eastern Market Metro Station and rent out our downstairs apartment.
We've been renting our DC apartment (underneath our house) since March 2012; we've begun renting our WV cabins since Jan. 2013.
For tourists to DC, we have -- I have to admit! -- a pretty superb location in that you can be on the National Mall (the Smithsonian Museums) in less than 20 minutes. Historic Eastern Market is just a few blocks away.
My husband works for the federal government, and I work for a global consulting firm supporting the federal government on sustainability issues. We enjoy bbq'ing outside when the weather is nice, going to the park with the kids, and simply being parents.
