We have a 5-bedroom, 4-bath cabin in Lost River, WV. It is actually renting our two adjacent units: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/581434 ("Unit A") and https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/894874 ("Unit B"). This rental would include two kitchens. It is two levels with the bedrooms on the second floor. It's in the heart of gay WV and is a nice mix of local and DC weekenders.
Here's the layout:
*Unit A: 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. One bedroom has a queen-size bed. The second bedroom has two twin-size beds.
*Unit B: 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed with a walk-out balcony. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed. The third bedroom has two twin-size beds. The sofa in the living room folds out to a full-size bed.
We have a current Airbnb listing for our DC apartment and decided to try to rent out our WV vacation home.
The cabin has a landline (shared between the two units) but there is no cell phone reception. We have high-speed DSL Internet as well as Hulu Plus and streaming Netflix.
We're roughly 10 miles from Wardensville, WV and roughly 30 miles from Moorefield, WV. Moorefield is a good town for Walmart, lunch, and a movie theatre and bowling alley.
Very close by are two restaurants: the Lost River Grill (5 miles away) and The Guesthouse Lost River (3.8 miles away). The former is more low-key, and the latter is a bit more upper-scale.
Trout Pond Recreation Area (about 5 minutes away by car) provides a nice lake that you can walk around (and swim in during summer), a camping area, and a playground for kids.
We live in DC, but there's always the chance that we may be staying in the other unit. Or we may rent out the other unit.

Kelly and Jack were great hosts! We went with friends to Lost River and took advantage of both units. Using the 2 units made it easy to manage meals and fridge space for 10 ppl. We enjoyed the quick access to the nearby lake. The location was convenient to Lost River attractions as well. A beautiful destination!
We rented both Unit A&B and should say we felt good we rented the right one. We were there during late July and wanted for a weekend getaway from VA. Overall the house was pretty good, it had everything (including food items in fridge which may be belonged to Kelly & family :-)) But Kelly's items would for sure help those renters who would not come prepared with food supplies to this part of WVa cos there are no very very nearby restaurants and driving in dark locating one especially with no cell network and getting lost wouldn't sound like a good idea . We actually went by Kelly's guide so we came prepared with food supplies so didn't use any of Kelly's items except for Olive Oil for Omelette :-) As per the rest of the house every room is neatly arranged, inside patio next to main hall was good to sit and eat while watching the greenery and rain(it was raining when we were there), outside patio was good to sit and read a book enjoy nature or just to have a drink with ur buds. The road to the house was at a higher ground so when we had to come to the house which is at lower ground the slope was pretty scary but once we slide its enough parking space for 4 cars easily. All the rest rooms were pretty good and as one of the previous renters mentioned one restroom has a rusted bowl. Its in perfect working condition but the rusty look is what makes it appear even bad. I would leave it up-to the owners to think of may be replacing the bowl cos its in the smaller unit and that's the only restroom on the smaller unit. Since we rented both units we left out this restroom and used the others in the bigger unit. Water flow in the shower and restroom was also a bit slow and when someone was bathing downstairs there was a very bad flow in the upstairs. We felt a bit hot inside as the units doesn't have A/c but the fans did the work once we switched everything ON. May be the hall in the bigger unit needs one more fan, lighting was sufficient, beds were comfortable not the spring type jumping ones but are better, WiFi was good, all appliances were working though we couldn't find a toaster in both units. All in all its a good place for the money.
