Please note that my apartment is older and lived-in. If you want something shiny and modern this might not be what you're looking for (cracks in the paint...). If you are interested in exploring the best of the city however, this is a great spot!
I will not be present during your stay. Should you need any assistance I will be a phone call away and have LOTS of helpful neighbours that we (or you) can ask for help at any given time.
Please be aware that the apartment is in a popular part of town on a major street. It can be noisy with street traffic. For light sleepers I will provide earplugs and there is an couple fans in the bedroom that offers some white noise.
Bienvenue, I hope you'll have a nice stay!
The apartment is for you, you won't share it with me. There is a washer and a dryer in the basement which you'll have access to as well.
Interaction with Guests
I am really discreet and usually rent the aparment when I go out of town for work. If I happen to be in town you'll have no problem getting in touch with me, I'm really quick to answer emails or text messages. If I'm out of town I'll make sure to check messages everyday and get back to you ASAP
This part of Toronto is amazing, there's a tone of restaurants, vintage shops, art galeries, coffe shops... 5 minutes away from the apartment. The mall is really close too if you need to buy groceries but I love that we have so many options for organic shop around too. The duferin grove market is great in season and there's a 7$ community diner every friday in the parc. There's a real sense of community in this neighbourhood and meeting local people is really easy, you'll feel like a Torontonian in no time!
There's a street car and a bus stop 2 minutes away from my place and the Subway station if 5 minutes away through the parc. there's a free overnight parking spot just outside my door and parking is usually really easy in the little side streets. Coming from the airport takes about an hour via bus and subway. Really easy too.
Other Things to Note
I'd like the guest to keep in mind that when it's not rented, I live in the apartment. Respect it like it's you home, and give a little love to the plants!
The apartment is a smoke free and pet free environement and I'd like it to stay this way.
Keep clean and tidy.
You are more than welcome to have a diner with friends while you stay in the apartment but no big parties and nothing to disturb my neighbours.
No illegal or immoral activities.
The apartment is great the location is practically unbeatable. Mathilde's place was very warm and welcoming. We vacationed in Toronto in January, which was perhaps surprising to many people, but we loved it and really enjoyed our stay with Mathilde.
Mathilde is a wonderful host - generous, welcoming and efficient. I was so happy to stay at her place, which is as charming as the pictures depict, and perfectly located.
Could not have been happier there! Thanks, Mathilde!
this appartment is plenty of light and very sympathic as its owner.
We were very happy for all.
Living at Mathilde's apartment for a month was simply a dream. We fell in love with the space and felt entirely at home. It's open, bright and clean. Minimalist decor and artistic vibes. BEAUTIFUL!!!
It Was a pleasure to be hosted by Matihilde. She is a wonderful woman who made the planning process a breeze.
This is a perfect Toronto neighbourhood to stay in. There is a park close by, a cool coffee shop across the street and bike ride away from anything else you need.
Stay here and you will fall in love too.
We had a wonderful stay at Mathilde´s place! The apartment is cosy, stylish and has a lot of light, perfect for a couple who wants to discover Toronto in a few days. Location is great, 15 minutes from the center by street car and has quite a few nice restaurants and cafés around.
Mathilde was also a great host, very friendly and helpful from the very beginning, making sure that we had everything we needed and making us feel home in her beautiful apartment!
Would definitely stay again and recommend it!
Mathilde is a model host. She was helpful and prompt in her communications right from the start and all the way through. She brought us an extra fan when it got hot (which made the noise on College Street a non-issue) as well as additional thoughtful touches. Her apartment is lovely: classic, comfortable and subdued. It was the exact central home base we were looking for, and we loved cooking in her little kitchen. I would highly recommend staying here.
(EN) Mathilde was very nice, thoughtful and easy to reach. The apartment fits very accurately its description, very warm and cozy, but also a little noisy at night especially on weekends. Everything was very clean and linen & towels were provided. Great stay overall!
I'm Mathilde. I live in Toronto but I come from Paris France. I'm an artist, a writer and also a barista in one of toronto's best cofee shop.
I love travelling and discovering new things, learning, cooking, eating, reading, movies, art...
